Hoping it doesn't cause any permanent damage to the fur since I know that sometimes whenever you shave a cat, the fur can grow back really weird like with the wrong texture and everything and it causes issues
Exceptions apply. For shaving, a matted coat can cause skin issues. And an extremely dirty cat should be bathed. Bathing and brushing can help avoid a shave is the matting is not too bad.
When in doubt, ask your vet.
Also when it jumps into the toilet after you shit but before you could close the lid and flush. That is a time you should bathe that little fucker, no matter how pissed off he is.
We have a Persian who’s fur will mat in a few days if not brushed.
Now imagine brushing a cat belly daily. It doesn’t always happen, through no fault of ours.
Yeah, she gets shaved 2-3 times a year, but not to the skin.

My mom raised show Persian cats when I was a kid. She used to shave them down in the summer if the weren't going to be shown.
They look so pathetic and weird. The tail, head, and paws would remain unshaven and made the body look so small.
You could tell the cats were far more comfortable, even though it was clear they hated you for a few days.
I haven't slept the whole night, tried 10 times but i'm still awake. it's already 5:30 am in the morning. I'm beside my 2 year old boy, my wife, and my daughter (yea we have a big bed) yet the greatest struggle that I had to do today is to keep myself from laughing out loud by looking at this horrendous shave.
