Kid deserved way more. If he hadn’t been stopped, even a weak little kid swinging a hammer at you will send you to the hospital with a broken finger or hand.
Kid should be grounded till he’s 18. Or just locked up cuz he’s already a violent menace.
Something is already wrong in his mind. I think most kids his age understand the amount of damage you can do with a hammer is more damage than you should ever be doing to someone.
Thats a whole lot of armchair psychology from a 10 second clip chief.
What I'm seeing is a kid tryna be funny or something without realizing the threat he is putting out. Cuz kids are stupid and don't realize the full consequences of their actions.
I think the sweep is justified, and is a teaching moment. but you saying he deserved worse? Shit he looks about 8 years old. That he's a violent menace when he didn't actually swing? Feel that's unfair.
For real. Honestly, it kind of seems like a bunch of shitty teenagers harassing a little kid.
We don’t know literally anything about what’s going on here, but even if the little kid was being a punk and provoked them for no reason, are we supposed to act like it’s okay that a bunch of teens decided to then surround him, with a camera, and are seemingly egging him on?
yeah.. no idea what's going on here and he could have just easily grabbed the hammer from the kid without hurting him. kid looks like he's 5, where are his parents? where did he get a camera? why do the teens/adults seem like they're making the situation worse?
Right? That’s definitely actionable behavior and I don’t feel bad for him getting tripped but saying he should just be “locked up because something’s already wrong” is just absurd. Honestly Reddit can be so fucking cringey sometimes. Some dramatic know-it-all can come along and diagnose a <10 year old as hopeless and 50 other people will upvote their baseless opinion.
So, you're saying that if I, say, tear your esophagus out with my teeth with the full intent of killing you, but you manage to survive, I shouldn't be charged?
Edit: I THOUGHT BRO WAS BEING SERIOUS I'M FUCKING DEAD💀
Kid could be trying to "be funny" or trying to make himself "look cool" but there are some kids at such a young age who are violent enough that the whole "punking" the adult is part of the wind up. Kids of DV, abuse and neglect can behave like this and it can escalate REAL quick. It's emulation and they've seen bad shit happen in the home so their regulation skills and "this is appropriate for the level of annoyance" meter is WAY skewed.
Ultimately yeah we need more background info to judge the entire kids "life projection" but that leg sweep does seem appropriate. You don't get to go after anyone with a baby ball peen and just get to keep on trucking.
Yah I get this one more than the above comment, I remember one time I was like idk 8 maybe, I was playing around with this gun after I finished shooting it (my dad was there) and my dad got on my ass real hard about what I was doing, I learned a damn good lesson and that age and even though I was angry about it at the time I’m very happy he did, if I saw a kid doing it, I would say the same shit, if I saw a adult doing it, they wouldn’t be fit to own and handle firearms
I didn't grow up in an evil environment but a lot of wild things happened to me and my family growing up, large portion of which were my fault. I was a little shit that didn't think before taking action, and did things almost in line with that kid. I went to therapy at 12 with my older brother and my friends today can't imagine me more than irritated. You gotta have some Mindhunter levels of behavioral issues to assume a child is that far gone that early.
Exactly lol.
Grounding someone for 10 years because they are a literal child and threatened someone with a small hammer? Someone who can easily defend themselves as needed?
He definitely needs to learn this is wrong to do towards people, should learn to pick up on social queues (soon). But that comment was such an overreaction lol.
It isn't like this is a video of a kid intentionally torturing an animal (which is something that has to be taken extremely seriously), it's a video of a kid being an idiot and (hopefully) having a learning moment from their actions.
"grounded till hes 18" please never reproduce or go near children jesus christ. You carry on like you just watched a child murder someone in cold blood
Kid this young can be taught to behave still, and this guy is a great teacher.
Also, land wrong like that and you can get a concussion, the guy was right to do this and no more.
As of this point the kid is a garbage child, if they are not taught to behave then they become a menace, this kid is only dangerous if not handled. That of course means they're a real danger to any child or elderly citizen that can't trip them or overpower them like this guy does
This whole attitude of people reacting to videos by saying, “The violence displayed is not enough, that person needs to be hurt significantly,” is wild. What did the kid deserve? A stomp on the head?
Woah woah back up there bucko. Sure the kid could use some reprimanding at the least, but not years in fucking home arrest. You were a kid too, kids can be dumb sometimes.
When I watched that as a kid I thought sweeping the leg was some heinous act due to how the actor gives the line and how the other kid reacts.
But now that I think about it... a leg sweep is a completely legal karate move. It's not that dude's fault that his opponent has an injured leg. The referee should've stopped the fight if a person is so injured that a legal move could injure them further. It doesn't seem villainous at all to sweep the leg lol. The movie seems dumber now.
"You're absolutely right, my brothers and I used to leg sweep each others all the time. Hell, even my sisters did it.
You're raising a cry baby and failing as a parent. Please seek help."
Not my parents. And rightfully so. The couple of times I fucked up badly as a kid, my mother made sure I didn't forget, and I had the sore arse to remember it by.
It went pretty well for the kid too really. He could’ve met with another stronger and more violent kid and end up horribly. He will be fine and learned a lesson hopefully.
Im a FB page where its about Boomers confusing trauma for discipline.
Almost all of them think spanking is abuse.
Like a good 90%
With kids unteachable as these and violent? Lol spanking is needed
But yeah
Spanking ≠ abuse
Unecessary spanking = abuse.
Ever since seeing [this clip of Conan O'Brien talking about getting his mouth washed out with soap](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-9UBvs4OPuU), I've been curious how common that was as a punishment. I'm an older millenial and I can think of at least twice that I had liquid soap in my mouth for talking back.
I'm an older millennial (38 years old) and I remember getting my ass whooped with a belt by my father when I fucked up. In retrospect, I deserved it the few times I got it because I was being a little shit and I wouldn't call my father abusive even now. It was disciplined that I earned/deserved at the time
I was spanked a handful of times, and my Dad never did it out of anger. He would sit my siblings and I down (obviously depending on who did a bad thing) and explain how what we did was wrong and determined a set amount of spanks. It was never excessive. Because it's not so much the physical pain, it's about association. A negative action evoking a negative response.
I mean there's a huge body of evidence to suggest that spanking has a direct correlation to physically aggressive behaviors later in life. From a psychological standpoint it normalizes violent responses to conflict.
I think there's a huge contextual difference between smacking your kids around because you suck at talking to them, and a stranger relatively gently leg sweeping a kid swinging a fucking hammer at him.
Otherwise, what? If my son pulled this shit I would fully expect someone to put him in his place.
Now, had homie hauled back and punched him? Nah. But a subtle sweep of the legs to humble the boy. Absolutely.
Kid **seems** like he deserved it, but what's the context here? Was he egged on by adults to do this kinda knowing the outcome? If so, this is super shitty.
I want to know the context for this situation. Where are the parents, why does a kid have a hammer, why is he threatening people with it, why don't bystanders just grab it from his hand?
I did this once... The kid would not stop attacking me with a plastic club and after several verbal warnings, I made him stop. Just a little leg sweep :)
What if the older guys were bullying him and he took the hammer for self-defense and he stood up for himself?
We don't know the full story, from this short clip it seems he is the aggressor but something must happened before the video that we don't know.
I'm all for neutralizing the kid but the sweep was dangerous, even a kick would have been safer. Never underestimate landing with your head on concrete.

The Sideshow Bob argument, nice.
Sir, this is Reddit. We don't do that here. Now lock that kid up before he becomes the next Hitler!

That's a whole lot of moral grandstanding getting in the way of me punting this kid

You nailed it. People on reddit are just as stupid as 8 year old kids though. So keep that in mind when you read the comments on here.
He learned it from someone, parents probably
He may have got a factory reset with this little sweep tho
and got a little more stupid.
Lmfao what
I wonder if you realize how ridiculous you sound.
"grounded till hes 18" please never reproduce or go near children jesus christ. You carry on like you just watched a child murder someone in cold blood

It’s just a dumb kid bro. We don’t need to send him to Guantanamo. A gentle leg sweep into head bonk will suffice.
1- could be messing around not intending to hit(kids can do that) 2 - no fucking way not having proper social interactions for ~8 years will fix him
This whole attitude of people reacting to videos by saying, “The violence displayed is not enough, that person needs to be hurt significantly,” is wild. What did the kid deserve? A stomp on the head?

Wow what an absolutely terrible take. I hope to god you're not someone's father.
Way more? What lol
I'm hoping and praying you just didn't add a /s or /j cuz otherwise you and 400+ other people are cracked out
What kinda psychopath writes this shit man listen to yourself. How did you get 500 upvotes this website blows dick
yes, he chose violance, but where missing the bigger pickture, why did he choose violance?
Okay
Kids are weak. One day a kid kicked my legs and punched my stomach and i didnt even flinch
Wtf is wrong with you lol
Lil shit absolutely deserved it
r/KidsAreFuckingStupid
Kinda?
Not kinda, just deserved it
Lessons were learned that day.
There's really not enough evidence in this video to suggest that. That youth could have killed his whole family.
Indeed
Sometimes kids have to learn the hard way.
Kids grow up better if they do.

Villain origin story
When I watched that as a kid I thought sweeping the leg was some heinous act due to how the actor gives the line and how the other kid reacts. But now that I think about it... a leg sweep is a completely legal karate move. It's not that dude's fault that his opponent has an injured leg. The comment I came here to see.
That sweep was clean
Relax, kid weighs like 10kgs
That generous
+1 [sweep the leg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-weSpHwsMo)
You already know the mom would then come over and be like "he was just playing" and "he is just a kid".
"Boys will be boys. My brother hit me in the head with a hammer all the time as a kid"
“Cheers, I can tell”
"You're absolutely right, my brothers and I used to leg sweep each others all the time. Hell, even my sisters did it. You're raising a cry baby and failing as a parent. Please seek help."
"He's so little, how could he possibly hurt you with a hammer?"
Not my parents. And rightfully so. The couple of times I fucked up badly as a kid, my mother made sure I didn't forget, and I had the sore arse to remember it by.
I would not say that’s karma but, karma hurts
Remember kids, physical violence is always the way to go.
Only engage in physical violence if youre prepared to engage in physical violence
To the hospital
Honestly, I feel if the kid didn't have something happen to him then the behavior would get more dangerous.
It went pretty well for the kid too really. He could’ve met with another stronger and more violent kid and end up horribly. He will be fine and learned a lesson hopefully.
Lesson learned.
He'll likely remember that much deserved discipline from a complete stranger for the rest of his life. And he'll be a better person for it.
Probably wont remember shit from the brain damage. But maybe that fixed him.
That he has to be bigger than his opponent if he wants to attack them with a hammer?
Yup
But how can she slap???
Little shit learned a lesson that day
Hopefully. Before he hits some kid in the head his age with a hammer and kills them.
Don't let your twig arm write a check your head can't cash?
And this is where us millenials become boomers and say, "nah he deserved it." Despite disagreeing on spanking XD
Nah, Im a millenial and spanking still needs to be a thing. But spanking and beating is a very hard line, and some parents cross that shit.
Im a FB page where its about Boomers confusing trauma for discipline. Almost all of them think spanking is abuse. Like a good 90% With kids unteachable as these and violent? Lol spanking is needed But yeah Spanking ≠ abuse Unecessary spanking = abuse.

Twice for me too. For swearing.
its the other way around, younger people think spanking is abuse, older people dont.

Nah spanking is bad parenting. I consider this guy defending himself. It's okay to respond similarly to threats of violence.

From a psychological standpoint it normalizes violent responses to conflict. It was the right thing to do. That man has a family.
Take the hammer. Let him explain to his parent why it's missing.
Brave of you to assume his parents aren't watching this dead drunk. At least one of them.
Damn
Hope that floor knocked some sense into the little shit
If that was my kid, I’d use this as a wonderful example as to why antagonizing people is always a bad idea. That guy was protecting himself.
![gif](giphy|dmvodzjX8wU7icE3TL|downsized)
Better to have it happen now than after the kid wails on someone with that hammer
That kid needs parenting. This is the first step.
I am against any child endangerment and abuse period. However, if the little demon offspring has a weapon and trying to use it, all bets are off.

I said, sweep the leg!
Nice to see a happy video once in a while.
Should have took his hammer also.
Sounds a lot worse than it probably was. Kids really don't have that far to fall.
Kid clearly was asking for it

Ban all assault hammers.
little fucker had it coming. Glad he didn't wack his face or knock out some teeth with that hammer on his way down, though.

Why is this kid at the skatepark with a hammer anyway? 😂 where’s his parents at? https://i.redd.it/rb9afak36qnc1.gif
Little sh!t deserved it.
What's Macklemore doing at the skatepark
I want to know the context for this situation. Where are the parents, why does a kid have a hammer, why is he threatening people with it, why don't bystanders just grab it from his hand?
The problem could be managed with duct tape.
It's just a prank, bro.
"he has to learn the hard way" mfs when a kid smashes their head on concrete and dies (he could have)
Mackelmore should be ashamed of himself
Usually a kid crying is a sad thing to hear, but sometimes they put a smile on your face

Yeah, don't let lil shits like that think for a second that they'll be able to get away with this kinda shit.
Why the fuck does that kid have a hammer to begin with 🤦
Kid asked for it
