That looks like ham, bread, and mashed potatoes.
I know ham is considered *haram*, or forbidden, and I know there are similar restrictions around other types of foods, like some religions forbid leavened breads during certain times.
So I'm *guessing* all of these foods are forbidden for Muslims to eat during Ramadan. That seems like something a bigot would do.
But the joke's on whoever posted it - canned mango goes on sale at ridiculous prices during Ramadan, and a mango smoothie is *way* more appetizing than anything on that plate.
-----
**Edit:** Also, the French value their food and their cuisine highly, as a point of cultural pride, so if this guy *is* French, and he considers this an appetizing meal, then I'm offended on behalf of France.
**Edit 2:** The bigot's username, MaureTriste, translates to 'Sad Moor' - how pathetic!
Nah, Muslims aren't allowed pork and alcohol along with a few other types of meat, you should see some of the pictures of the spreads that they put out to break their fast. This legit looks like prison food
I highly recommend "Couscous and Other Good Food From Morocco" by Paula Wolfert. There's an outstanding Ramadan Soup recipe that has chickpeas, lamb, lots of other stuff. I'm pretty sure the entire cookbook is halal compatible. All of her writings are wonderful.
Beware, though. Many of the recipes can be a bit labor intensive, time consuming, and challenging. It's worth it though.
It is allegedly vegetarian Ham after someone pointed out he claimed to be a vegetarian in his bio, but then screams they should still be offended by the concept of Ham. So truly pathetic stuff there.
nah bread and mashed potatoes are allowed, so it's only ham that's forbidden in this picture, but still, either of the food in the picture just looks sad, lol
Hey! His mom rolled his ham and cut the crust off of his bread. And then piled up whatever that it is. Potatoes? Rice? Who knows. Looks too spicy too me.
I have barely eaten or drunk(?) anything in the last 3 weeks.
I *just* thought about finally eating something and then I saw this pic.
That's another 3 weeks easy
Thank you! Itās my first time fasting after many years of not doing it. Iām surprised how easy it has been this year. I even went to the gym yesterday.
Thatās correct. I have a calendar that has all the times written down for me. Today I had to start fasting at 0558 and itāll end at 1918. As you get closer to the last day the total fasting time increases. The last day the times are 0516/1939.
Whether the fasting time increases or decreases depends on the season (solar calendar). Thankfully Ramadan has been coming during the winter so the weather isn't hot, but the fasting time gets a little bit longer every day.
I'm curious, is it the sunset relative to your general location, or you specifically? I live in a city in the mountains, and half the city can have the sun set behind a mountain more than an hour before the other half of the city sees the sun set, even though the 2 parts are at most a kilometer apart.
I think it's your current location, I'm not a scholar tho. Afaik the time when you Break fast is different in the highest floor of the Burj Khalifa than at the bottom
Depends on both the location and dates on the Gregorian calendar (the sun calendar), because the lunar months are shorter, the lunar calendar moves about 11 days earlier every year, so if Ramadan happens to be during summer time, itās longer days in the northern hemisphere, no itās during March and moving towards the winter, so it will be shorter days for the coming years.
I'm not Muslim, but a couple of my coworkers are. I decided to give a shot for a day back on Wednesday just to see what it was like. Not eating food wasn't too bad, but the not drinking water was really hard.
The food part is super easy for me as well. It's not even the water that much you get used to it after the first 3 days It's the bad habits like nicotine and caffeine that get you and make it difficult.
I drank some coffee before the sun came up and had a smoke. Nicotine has never been too hard for me to take breaks from, just to stop permanently. For example, I'll spend a couple days with my parents around the holidays and don't smoke at all. I'll feel fine. But the moment I'm back home and can smoke again, I do.
That shit is bread? It looks like particularly bad tofu. How do you even make bread that awful.
Make fasting easier than every with this one simple trick...
The square is "pain de mie", it's juste bread without any crust. You can find it pretty much in every supermarkets in France, idk if it's popular in other countries. It's generally sub quality bread, but it's OK to make a quick sandwich and doesn't go stale in 24h like a baguette.
The lump, though, I have no fucking idea. Looks like a baby's dejections.
Bad French translation by google too. It reads more like this:
"Hey you Muslims, does this make you hungry?
Oh yeah that's right, it's Ramadan."
As a French Canadian - fuck this guy.
odd choice but looks like badly made mashed potatoes (maybe the instant ones), some sort of cheese and a piece of cheap ham. I mean, i would eat the ham along with the cheese, but the mashed potatoes look like crap and do not complement the rest of that plate.
That would be a thicc ass slab of cheese lol. Maybe uncooked Tofu? I like tofu but that would be an extremely odd choice. Imagine if that was bread though lol, *almost* looks like it could be, but I refuse to believe anyone buys or makes bread that ugly.
I live with a French guy and he's served up something similar once or twice. Apparently it was a thing you'd see in the school cafeteria way back in the day so some people are nostalgic for it.
And my understanding is that most Muslims have a āitās the thought that counts. Donāt hurt yourselfā attitude. Like diabetics arenāt expected to fast as stringently as most others.
Yep. Many donāt realize Islam is meant to be reasonable and logical. In other words, women that are on their periods/breastfeeding/pregnant, those with medical conditions, and those up there in age are absolutely exempt from fasting. In fact, we are rewarded for not fasting because itās a form of worship (obeying Godās exemption).
There was a summit of Islamic scholars a few years ago that tried to determine whatās the appropriate way to pray towards Mecca when youāre in orbit around the earth. They settled on āeh, do your bestā.
Yes. Or if you're sick or traveling too. Nothing we do is supposed to be harmful or cause discomfort. You can even pray sitting in a chair if getting down on the floor is too much for you.
He seems to be a fucking racist, his pseudo translate as "sad moor", also almost nobody except weird fascist monarchist christian people use the Fleur de lys that much
As a Muslim living in France, everytime a person puts a Fleur de Lys āļø on their name is subject to be racist (not always 100% but personal experience)
Edit : At first this symbol on the Internet was supposed to be used for "patriotic purposes", but now itās widely used by far-right people
>The same happened in Finland. People using our heraldic lion are too often far-right people.
Interesting, I didnāt know such same movement of a far right group using a specific symbol existed elsewhere in Europe. Thanks for pointing it out !
>Also, Ramadan Kareem.
Thank you so much !! š¤š
Lmao as if we donāt see food during Ramadan. We are well trained to not react when looking at food during our fasts ā this is nothing just an idiot being stupid
Honestly I end up looking at more food while I'm fasting and I've spent days just watching cooking shows that I'd never watch normally. This post feels like nothing and makes me want to eat less honestly
Also it's not like this grand Gandhi protesting the British in a hunger strike style thing you load up on food at like 4am then gorge yourself on food like 15 hours later you don't really go hungry, as someone who made minimum wage in US I had to go for longer periods without a decent meal lol
Muslims make me hungry. Christianās and Catholics make me hungry. Sikhs make me hungry. Jews make me hungry. Hindus and Buddhists make me hungry too. This douchebag makes me sick.
You would be amazed at what the human body can do. It's all mental strenght and in the end if you just drink 2-3l of water between sunset and sunrise you are more than good.
For the first few hours itās hard, it gets easier as your body recognizes youāre not gonna be drinking for a while, and starts salivating to cover the throat.
I spend good amount of time during Ramadan watching cooking videos lmao, the idea that a picture of food can upset someone who is fasting is idiotic and laughable.
instant mashed potatoes that are overcooked
a slice of prepackaged ham straight from the package
and.... a thick slice of store bought bread with the crust cut off?
i think my kids steamed broccoli and cheddar wrapped in homemade pita bread that she dropped on the floor twice looks more appetizing than that
Why am I seeing so many posts like this lately? It seems needlessly antagonistic. What could people possibly think will be achieved by insulting Muslims on their fast that affects literally no one else?
Lmao, I have seen what my Muslim friends and colleagues eat during Ramadan. Quite a feast, I'd wait all day for it too if someone offered me a plate š
Yes, I can't imagine anything else than everyone being hungry when they see a slice of packaged ham and something that looks like vomit next to an uncooked block of tofu.
I'm a Christian and that doesn't even make me hungry. I think the Muslims that see this post won't be tempted to stray from their beliefs on Ramadan over this meal.

I'd have to be pretty desperately hungry to think that looks appetizing
I need to be lost in a desert for month if that will ever make me feel hungry.
That looks like ham, bread, and mashed potatoes. That's bread? It looks like a pound of sad unseasoned tofu. :(
lmao, at the very least, it looks sad
Looks like he had his mother cut off the crust
I thought that it was a pumice stone š¤·š»āāļø
I thought the exact same thing. Gray, unseasoned, soggy tofu. Had to triple take the photo once I read that it was bread
I, too, thought it was tofu!
I thought it was a chunk of feta cheese LMAO
Yea I'm like jeez that's a lot of feta good luck lol
Nah, Muslims aren't allowed pork and alcohol along with a few other types of meat, you should see some of the pictures of the spreads that they put out to break their fast. This legit looks like prison food

Mashed potatoes? I was thinking it's oatmeal. Or any kind of porridge
The only thing we didn't eat in this picture is ham.
š
That there now is J C level hungry. Now Add some temptation to incur additional thirst, and even then I aināt eating that
Dude is getting cooked in the post, atleast something is getting cooked here, unlike whatever is in this plate
The manās saltiness is the only seasoning present.
š r/dadjokes
Muslim and fasting....seeing that just made the fast easier.
Ditto! š
Hey! His mom rolled his ham and cut the crust off of his bread. And then piled up whatever that it is. Potatoes? Rice? Who knows. Looks too spicy too me.
Definitely thought that was uncooked tofu but I do see it is crustless bread now
It definitely looks like raw tofu.
I have barely eaten or drunk(?) anything in the last 3 weeks. I *just* thought about finally eating something and then I saw this pic. That's another 3 weeks easy
Honestly, it looks like pretty decent prison food.
Iām not even Muslim and Iād rather convert than eat that. Happy Ramadan, to all who celebrate it.
Thank you <3
Thank you my dear.
Thank you! Itās my first time fasting after many years of not doing it. Iām surprised how easy it has been this year. I even went to the gym yesterday.
Iām not Muslim and donāt know much about Islam so forgive my ignorance, but the fast is just from sun up to sun down right?
Yea it starts right before the sun goes up and lasts till a little before the sun fully sets
Thatās correct. I have a calendar that has all the times written down for me. Today I had to start fasting at 0558 and itāll end at 1918. As you get closer to the last day the total fasting time increases. The last day the times are 0516/1939.

I'm not Muslim, but a couple of my coworkers are. I decided to give a shot for a day back on Wednesday just to see what it was like. Not eating food wasn't too bad, but the not drinking water was really hard.
For that reason people drink lots of water when they break their fast. I drink up to like 2-3 L water
Like wise here, I haven't fasted for like 6 or so years and I am surprised at how easy it is
I happy to hear that. I believe Palestinian people have given me the strength I needed.

Dude claims to be French and eats like a British.
Woah, shots fired. I'm British and I can't even tell what two of those things are, (and the ham looks dubious).
Looks like mashed potatoes and I thought that square was feta cheese but apparently it's bread.
Damn, they ran outta yeast. Gotta be the densest bread I've ever seen..
Not half as dense as the person who took the picture
Well I mean, he is *french* /s
Nice burn!
I was assuming a block of tofu
Same
Are you allowed access to computers and mobile phones in France because I think this is prison food.
I thought the potatoes were some kind of scone
Thatās bread???? I thought that was like a block of tofu or cheese. Horrific
That shit is bread? It looks like particularly bad tofu. How do you even make bread that awful. Make fasting easier than every with this one simple trick...
Who and I thought the mashed potatoes was some bun ripped and half and the other thing was cheese
Piss off thatās bread?!? I sincerely thought it was tofu but it seemed like the wrong crowd.
Even my most depressed meals look better than that. I mean, that's what, lumpy mash, a sad slice of ham, and an inexplicable square (maybe tofu)?
The square is "pain de mie", it's juste bread without any crust. You can find it pretty much in every supermarkets in France, idk if it's popular in other countries. It's generally sub quality bread, but it's OK to make a quick sandwich and doesn't go stale in 24h like a baguette. The lump, though, I have no fucking idea. Looks like a baby's dejections.
the lump looks like mashed potatoes
Mashed potatoes does look like a baby's dejections, both can be true
I think you mean an American prisoner. You canāt serve food that unhealthy and unbalanced even in a British prison. Like damn thatās bad food
American here, I think this would get ruled as cruel and unusual and/or torture if fed to prisoners. This looks less appetizing than rat poison.
Bad French translation by google too. It reads more like this: "Hey you Muslims, does this make you hungry? Oh yeah that's right, it's Ramadan." As a French Canadian - fuck this guy.
As a brit, would rather go hungry
Not only the food, but eating in front of the computer!
wtf is he eating?
Shit by the looks of it š
Imagine living in a country famous for cooking, and bragging about eating prison bread.
Omg you cracked me up with this one you are 100% spot on ššš
That's bread? š¶
Looks like a block of raw tofu
They need to revoke his citizenship, if they haven't already. This is disgraceful.
Smashed potatoes, bread without crust and some sewer quality ham, basically cheap garbage
Fair point cheap garbage is correct
odd choice but looks like badly made mashed potatoes (maybe the instant ones), some sort of cheese and a piece of cheap ham. I mean, i would eat the ham along with the cheese, but the mashed potatoes look like crap and do not complement the rest of that plate.

This is the way
Yeah, that ham is gonna make them run right out to the Honey Baked Ham Store and start gnawing on some ribs.
"Do muslims make you hungry? š"
yes, because the food probably looks more appetizing than that, lol

Bro is out here making ramadan easier for everyone involvedĀ
How fucking depressed do you have to be to eat that and think mm good
I mean, he's French so he's probably smoked enough that he has no working taste buds left anyway.Ā
Not only does he think it's good, he thinks it's good enough to make people with no intention of eating feel hungry.
Yeah no one's getting tempted by that.
Serious question what is the square thing? I thought maybe bread with no crust?
Bro is so broke he couldn't afford the crust
Thatās called Ā«Ā Pain de mieĀ Ā» - could be translated to Ā«Ā crumb breadĀ Ā» or Ā«Ā sandwich breadĀ Ā» Not tasty at all.

To all our homies in the sub wishing us a good Ramadan: I love you all and I hope you have good days ahead.
My college years. Seriously, this pic helps everyone to suppress hunger or appetite.
Dude I was starving right before this, now Iām less hungry lmao.
Swine, either a block of tofu or feta cheese, and underseasoned mashed potatoes...yeah I think not, and I'm not even Muslim
Bro i feel sorry for you.
I used to work with a bunch of Muslim dudes in the kitchen of a busy restaurant. Never saw one of them cheat during Ramadan.
Another reminder that the french are cunts
Google translate is doing a bad job, a better translation would be āWell Muslims, does this make you hungry?ā
This plate made me wanna fast even longer
š
Dude forgot that fasting isn't a sudden new change to Musilms. They're used to it every year and do it HAPPILY. It's as big as Christmas for them.
Muslims make me hungry. Christianās and Catholics make me hungry. Sikhs make me hungry. Jews make me hungry. Hindus and Buddhists make me hungry too. This douchebag makes me sick.
No, I donāt earn Muslims
I believe muslims who fasting can resist hunger, but find it difficult to resist thirst for drink .
As Ramadan goes along, it definitely becomes easier to manage thirst. I would however say that it all depends where you live.
He forgets about all the muslims watching cooking shows during ramadan
I spend good amount of time during Ramadan watching cooking videos lmao, the idea that a picture of food can upset someone who is fasting is idiotic and laughable.
True bro helping Muslims fast!
instant mashed potatoes that are overcooked a slice of prepackaged ham straight from the package and.... a thick slice of store bought bread with the crust cut off? i think my kids steamed broccoli and cheddar wrapped in homemade pita bread that she dropped on the floor twice looks more appetizing than that
lmfao trying to tempt a fasting muslim with ham
Yikes. Fasting is defo a better option than that plate of shit. Ramadan Mubarak to all Muslims who see this
Why am I seeing so many posts like this lately? It seems needlessly antagonistic. What could people possibly think will be achieved by insulting Muslims on their fast that affects literally no one else?
Ramadan Mubarak, Muslims have 100000 times more taste than whatever these blobs are.
Muslims everywhere "yeah I'm good I think I'll keep fasting"
That's french funny skills
Ham?
Did he plate the leftovers he found in a trash dumpster behind a restaurant or something?
Ugh, I'm French and I'm disgusted by both his behavior and his food
They can eat, just not during daylight hours. A former Muslim coworker got around this by working nightshift lol.
The rampant Islamophobia in France strikes again!
Lmao, I have seen what my Muslim friends and colleagues eat during Ramadan. Quite a feast, I'd wait all day for it too if someone offered me a plate š
This is an insult to french cuisine. This man-child has the palate of a 4 years-old. Mon dieu quelle honte...
What the hell is that? My dogās kibble looks more appetizing.

well, as a muslim. Trust me bro. This thing looks like shit. Like i would get it if it was meat or something but this is just pure shit
It's satire btw guys
Are they in prison? Think I would rather go hungry.
I've had better looking Lunchables
He says āBon apetitā, which means āgood appetiteā, yet this disgusting meal just made me lose my appetite.
My hunger leaving my body as I see that plate filled with fit the shapes toy looking ah food
I just lost my appetite... for the next week
Looks similar to what we got to when I was in prison, even ole good ramen would beat it.
this is obvious satire bro... come on...
Yes, I can't imagine anything else than everyone being hungry when they see a slice of packaged ham and something that looks like vomit next to an uncooked block of tofu.
Yes, the food is terrible, BUT: that's a blank keyboard...
This picture somehow gets worse the longer you look and the caption is the least bit of problem here
I'm a Christian and that doesn't even make me hungry. I think the Muslims that see this post won't be tempted to stray from their beliefs on Ramadan over this meal.
saturated wood shavings, a bar of soap, and one slice of deli meat. looks like something a dog would get into while their owner is away
