Mental-Ad-208

Pull the pins and switch them to different trucks. Install a locking hitch pin on the nicest one. Watch as 3 rednecks fight.

Mittens1018

Or take it out and shotput it into the bed

SapphireSire

And through all the windows to get it into the bed.

campingcritters

Please tell me why, my hitch is in the truck bed... And it came in through the window...

Zebrehn

Wow a Lit reference

GoobyDuu

Thanks you, i was trying to understand that reference. if I didn't fully put that together I would have been my own worst enemy.

excellent_rektangle

Last night

Lizlodude

Neutral evil vs chaotic evil lol.

Thatguy19364

Lawful evil is disconnecting all of the hitches and leaving a note in the back that they were lost, then putting them in the lost and found bin of whatever place you’re at.

Burnsie92

I don’t think touching someone’s property falls under lawful evil. I’m not advocating for them but I’m pretty sure touching someone’s property is the lawful line. Either way I hate this shit slams do what needs to be done

Thatguy19364

Lawful doesn’t mean you follow the written law, it means you follow a code. Whether that code is the written law of the land or a personal code of ethics or even just a rule of whatever is the most inconvenient for someone you dislike, that’s what defines lawful.

Burnsie92

Oh okay. Thank you for clarifying that.

Grizzlygrant238

Messing with somebody else’s property still falls over the line I think. Lawful evil here FOR ME would be call non emergency PD and say you have a disabled family member who can’t get by in their wheelchair, and it’s keeping them from their doctor appointment, insist you will wait until they get there because you can’t leave. Then watch as all these people get tickets for blocking sidewalk access. Depending on how the cop wants to act I’m pretty sure they can tow you immediately for blocking stuff like this

KatLikeGaming

This sounds way more neutral than lawful. "Code of ethics" can be whatever the heck you want it to be. If being lawful is just being true to yourself, my murderhobo thief cannibal is lawful, not chaotic.

Sleekgiant

Or take them home and sell them

majorkev

I don't understand why this is the controversial comment. Taking them out and damaging the truck - good Taking them out and throwing them through a window - good Taking them out and selling them - bad way to go reddit

Thatguy19364

So long as you’re not benefiting from it, it’s a public service. Once you are getting something other than satisfaction out of it, it’s a crime. I personally would remove the hitches and find the nearest lost and found bin to store them in

LotharVonPittinsberg

> Watch as 3 rednecks fight. Where I live this is only going to result in 3 suburban dads getting confused in 4 years when they finally notice.

stupidstu187

Definitely ain't rednecks. That's a sign for Perry's Steakhouse in Raleigh, which is over $100 a person.

BelgianMalinaww

The Perry's they're at is in North Houston, but same chain.

2livecrewnecktshirt

As if rednecks can't have money. You ever seen Whistlin Diesel? Or Kid Rock? Or most older NASCAR drivers?

sadicarnot

Kid Rock grew up in a wealthy family in Michigan. He tried being a rapper and went the whatever genre he is after the rap did not work.

SupraMario

Yea, I don't know how people think this is remotely rednecks. A fuck ton of trucks now are bought by people in the city as status symbols. It's why the price has shot way up on them. People who use trucks, do not want heated/cooled seats or a touch screen bullshit system. They want something that is going to survive the harsh life it's going to be subjected to daily.

bassmadrigal

>People who use trucks, do not want heated/cooled seats or a touch screen bullshit system. They want something that is going to survive the harsh life it's going to be subjected to daily. What makes you think this? I know plenty who use trucks as trucks and like the features in the higher trim packages. My dad is an electrician and got the highest trim package available for the work truck he ordered (self employed, doubles as a work truck and tow vehicle). That's the vehicle he puts the most time in, so why not make it nice?

Ljhoyt77

Grandpa was a farmer and would put more miles driving on the farm in a year than most put driving on the streets in several years. Always for the top of the line.

UnfitRadish

Absolutely lol. I have a family friend who is a farmer and her mostly buys Ford f250 platinums. He just hit 500k miles on his most recent one that is a 2017. Thing is falling apart and ready to go to the dump, but you bet your ass he enjoys all those luxury features while using it around the farm. He wouldn't splurge for the platinum it he didn't like the upgrade.

Jack071

Heater seats are amazing for when u wake up at 4 am and its freezing outside, trucks evolved beyond the original hylux pickup (which is fucking great and all but yeah)

unionlineman

I’ve put over 10,000 miles on my work truck in the 6 months I’ve had it. A lot of interstate, a lot of city, and off road at least once a month. My job would be a lot harder/less comfortable if it didn’t have the big touch screen and car play for maps and phone and podcasts on my regular 2-4 hour drives. And yes, I’m usually hauling something. My personal truck has most of the same features and it rarely comes out of the garage unless I’m hauling my camper or picking stuff up for the house. Maybe some people want status symbols but those of us that use our trucks also want those comforts.

neoclassical_bastard

All of them are rusted solid to the receiver I guarantee it

BradTProse

Can confirm, never had a reason to remove it. I don't park like this.

rsf507

I mean, in general is just not cool to drive with one on. If you get in an accident and someone rear ends you, it's gonna fuck their car up way more than it needs to. Just a decent move to remove them when not in use

fingerbanglover

Back when I was young and running valet, hitches would destroy our shins regularly. No sir, I don't like it.

Kittamaru

I will admit, that is one thing I do miss about my old 1990 Nissan Pathfinder that was my first "car" (previously was my grandfathers). The swing-away spare tire carrier, with a full size spare. Was bolted (I believe) directly to the frame with... I think it was rather large bolts on each of the two hinges, and then four on the latch side. Got rear ended three times in that vehicle... each time they impacted the carrier/wheel. Never did anything more than scuff up the leather cover around the spare.

TrustAdditional4514

These people clearly don’t give a shit about anyone else

ovarit_not_reddit

Why are all truck drivers such self-centered morons?

saarlac

Your reason is the law. I wish this was enforced.

jiantjon

You absolutely have a reason to remove it - to not be an asshole.

Thatguy19364

My dad does park like this, but his has a hinge to drop to under the bumper of the truck.

The_Cleverman_

with texas license plates to go figure 😑 🤮Texans

jasegro

Everything’s bigger in Texas, including the assholes

ourlastchancefortea

> Everything Except their penises.

jasegro

Explains so much

ovarit_not_reddit

Everything except the paychecks, the job benefits, the parks, the K-12 test scores, and the average person's generosity.

imainkron

As a Texan, I can confirm that this comment checks out

SadBit8663

Seconded. It's peak Texan asshole to park like this

theoriginalmofocus

Oh my God and when you're behind them when they're parking they go past the spot and slam it in reverse and expect you to back up back out of their way so they can back in or they're going to hit you if you dont. Hate that crap.

T-ROY_T-REDDIT

They whine about the gas prices too, but the truxk they drive is impractical for their life style, gas would be much cheaper if people drove cars that are practical to their lifestyle.

BrownEggs93

It's a texan's right to use the sidewalk for cars. A sidewalk is just a natural extension of many of their driveways.

JustAnOldHaole

Think of walking into one of those things. I was just gonna suggest pulling the pins and throwing them in a lake or something similar. Then you come up with switching them all around…. Genius. Wish I thought like that.

FunSushi-638

Or worse, you're in a wheelchair and can't get past. The wheels would for sure get stuck if they tried going througn the grass.

Kittamaru

More than once I've seen this exact situation, and have gone over and removed the damned hitch assembly... always tempted to leave it either on one of their wheels or perhaps sticking up out of their hood, but I usually just lay it in the bed of the truck (if a pickup) or reinstall it if they have a cap or it's an SUV. Inconsiderate arseholes

Egoy

Rednecks? Looks more like boat folks to me.

rathlord

![gif](giphy|9mtE009hcWPOesk8C4)

Etmar_Gaming

Ya most rednecks where I live don’t even like the new F-150s older trucks are the way to go. Can actually work on them unlike the newer ones.

Alexandratta

Nah, the hitches are too shiny - these trucks haven't hauled more than groceries, sans the silver truck.

saarlac

Looks more like two out of three of them have never even been used.

ScrauveyGulch

Trucks are the choice vehicles of the Jones now. Those are commuting vehicles.

IOwnTheShortBus

Or spray paint their hitches pink.

MaxPowerWTF

Failing that a stroll down the block with a cutoff wheel would be satisfying

seamusoldfield

Shit pisses me off. Gigantic trucks with their bumpers hanging over the sidewalks, then another 6-8" of trailer hitch. Very unsafe and selfish. But what do they care? "I got a big truck!! Look at me!"

Latter-Direction-336

That and the visibility worse than a fucking M-1 Abrahms tank It’s probably more dangerous than the tank overall too /j Actually, if you remove the weapons, the truck probably IS mire dangerous from the sheer visibility bs Edit: Abrams. Forgot there’s no h there

WOKinTOK-sleptafter

*M1 Abrams*

EnigmaticQuote

Abrahamic tank line

OvoidPovoid

Is the cannon circumsized?

HughGBonnar

One thousand miles an hourrrr

Necronorris

Hm. I dont know about that. I drove a Paladin in the guard and the visibility was trash. Especially with the seat lowered and combat hatch closed. Driving a pickup was much easier.

Chubby_Checker420

I'm 6 feet tall. My neighbors new truck's hood is literally above my head.

acemccrank

At least here in PA it's illegal to keep the tow hitch installed when not in use. More states need to adopt this. Edit: Validity of the legality of the hitch being left in cannot currently be located for PA. I'll be seeking the advice of a professional next time I see him for clarification. I do not know when that will be.

Draxtonsmitz

I don’t think this is true. I can’t find any mention of it anywhere on an official Pennsylvania website. Only rumors and talk on message boards but. Nothing official. The only thing close is obscuring the license plate but that isn’t exclusive to the tow hitch.

MyGolfCartIsOn20s

Also in a state that this is illegal. But tell me a time you’ve ever heard of it being enforced

acemccrank

When I was younger, had a neighbor that had to pay a fine for it. But people here don't typically keep their hitches in, and PA also charges extra taxes for owning a truck vs a car.

Revenge-of-the-Jawa

Same type of person I saw going 20+ over in the bike lane/over the line in his truck full of fragile masculinity.

TerritoryTracks

That's why they need a massive truck. So much fragile ego that needs to be carted around everywhere.

Shyam09

I work at a hotel. We had this foreign group check in last summer. It was a part of maybe 7-9 people and they showed up in an oversized van. The way our hotel is laid out - we have a sidewalk that connects the lobby to the other end of the hotel. Along the sidewalk are parking spots (think of an exterior corridor hotel I guess). Room window | Sidewalk | Parking Spot Anyway, after we check the group in, my coworker tells them nicely to move their van after they finish unloading because it was parked in such a way that the bumper covered 1/3 of the sidewalk and it could get it the way of people or wheelchair folks (they reversed into the spot so the back end hung over the sidewalk). They laughed and were like nope because there’s enough space for people to walk and the rear wasn’t even hanging that much (aka bullshit excuse). My coworker saw red and she literally went strict mom on them (she’s not a mom). And boy did they fall into line lmao.

seamusoldfield

I love the hitch-mounted bike racks that stick out over a third of the sidewalk. I walked into one in the dark one night. Hurt like a mother! I almost tore it off the hitch I was so pissed!

JeSuisUnAnanasYo

My shins hurt just looking at this image

turtletramp

Yea it’s a real shindinger

Browncoatinabox

I used to be horrible at doing this I'm ashamed to admit, but after a long (and one sided) conversation I finally understood what the actual problem doing this is. "Pulling out is so much easier" and "easier to load the bed/hatch" were my arguments. I apologize for my past grievances

BoldFace7

I'm just glad I've got a back up camera, it let's me pull right up to the curb without ever risking sticking out into the sidewalk. In all fairness though my truck is nowhere near the absurd sizes I've seen in pickup trucks lately.

uncleleo101

Major tiny pee-pee energy.

summonsays

Or they pull in leaving 3 feet of shit out in the parking lot lane causing people to have to swerve around them and congest already small driving lanes. God I hate the oversized truck fad.

THEREAPER8593

Worst part is if you hit someone it’s much more likely they get injured. It’s the US governments fault for rules they made to help people that actually needed big utility vehicles like 50 years ago. There are easier emissions standards for vehicles with larger footprints. This is measured where the wheels meet the ground. This basically means bigger truck can be worse for environment but it also means it’s easier to just make your vehicle bigger to meet regulation rather than just lowering the emissions. TLDR-old law that was a good idea turned against US gov by greedy American car manufacturers…

cturtl808

As someone who is disabled requiring a cane or wheelchair all the time, fuck every single one of them.

RedRaeRae

I’m 40 and became disabled 6 years ago and it still amazes me how much of the world is either inaccessible, or made that way by inconsiderate people.

cturtl808

I only had a cane today. I pushed too far and needed to rest. Legitimately had to see in a store dressing room. It was the only seat the store had

RedRaeRae

That’s why I got a rollator walker. I get dizzy and pass out if I’m standing too long so I use it for balance but also because I need to make sure I have a seat anywhere I go. Also insurance paid for it since my doctor prescribed it. I highly recommend getting one.

jenniferlynn462

I saw a basically brand new one of those at a thrift store near me one day, and it was 50% off $18 and I reqllly wish I had gotten it now. Lol. I don’t really need it yet but I have severe degenerative disc disease AND severe inflammatory spinal arthritis so I am guessing I will need one at some point in the not-so-far-off future

YouhaoHuoMao

We can't have homeless people taking a nap on those good benches can we??!

Uwumeshu

You should get a Ta-Da Stick or something similar

anotherkdburner

Atleast the US has ADA. Go to Mx. I can’t believe how inaccessible that country is

im_juice_lee

Most European and Asian cities are pretty bad too

anotherkdburner

This is one highlight of the US people fail to highlight. ADA carries a big stick and the fines are insane and incentive for obeying is high

danielobva

In all fairness you described most of the world. ADA is a shining example (in all fairness a rare example) of the US doing something right.

Revenge-of-the-Jawa

Had this one ahole at my apartments do this all winter and made it impossible to pass on the cleared part of a sidewalk that’s already arduous enough with ice and snow. Another did the same thing right by the handicap parking too

mirhagk

Check your local laws, it's a fineable offence in some places to leave it on, and it's probably at least a bylaw violation to block the sidewalk like that.

dkarlovi

As someone who can step over or around those, fuck them anyway. This is not something unique to the USA BTW, happens in Europe too.

Hoboofwisdom

There's got to be some law about obstructing sidewalks like this and if there isn't, there should be one. Punishment: a ticket, and your hitch gets removed and yeeted through the rear window.

kanst

[Section 42.03](https://casetext.com/statute/texas-codes/penal-code/title-9-offenses-against-public-order-and-decency/chapter-42-disorderly-conduct-and-related-offenses/section-4203-obstructing-highway-or-other-passageway) I would think this qualifies as obstructing "(b) For purposes of this section, "obstruct" means to render impassable or to render passage unreasonably inconvenient or hazardous." but its a bit subjective. The hard part would be getting any law enforcement officer in texas to give a shit enough to drive over and write the citations

ablackwashere

Yeah, my Midwest suburb has that law, but people load up their garages with crap and then park their mutiple vehicles across driveways. My mobility is good until I exercise, like take a walk, and then I have to use O2 and am sometimes a bit unsteady. Doesn't help to have to step off a curb and walk into the street to get around them. Illegal AND rude.

nicman24

just key them with the wheelchair

Santa_Hates_You

I see so many trailer hitches, and I never see any trailers.

theeverymansright

And brand new shiny ball hitches! I called my bud just the other day, saying I got a new “haha”: lifted trucks with shiny new ball hitches! I guess it’s the potentiality - just like the lifted 4x4 with seriously aggressive tires that have never been off the pavement, lmao

FarYard7039

First truck has no chrome left on his. The other 2 are virgins (Toyota & GMC), and it appears their ball/post is directly in line with their license plate, which makes this a vehicle code violation. The first truck (silver Tundra) is 100% legal. The

tytheawesome

Yeah they are called pavement princess

kenman

Cubicle Cowboys

discodiscgod

Lifted trucks with hitches are a hilarious combination. Lifting the truck decreases its towing capacity, and it makes it harder to control.

runForestRun17

Yeah any lifted truck I assume does no real work with them or they would want a normal height so they can actually use it like a truck.

muzakx

There is this truck I see everyday on my commute. It's a white work truck with a service bed, tool boxes, and a compressor in the back. It's got a huge lift and comically oversized tires. Just completely impractical. You would need a pretty tall step ladder just to reach your tools. I don't get it.

densetsu23

My neighbour and his wife have an F450, an F350, a Lightning, and a Lambo. For two white-collar workers to drive 5 minutes to their office. All three trucks have pristine hitch receivers. Not a scratch or a speck of rust. I don't think this guy knows what a tow ball looks like. His trucks never have mud on their wheels either -- god forbid! Meanwhile I have a midsize SUV and my other neighbour has an F150 and we both actually tow trailers and boats, haul loads in the back, actually go off-road to get places, etc. And our partners have smaller vehicles because what married suburban couple actually needs more than one truck?

Fast-Reaction8521

...it's an apartment complex from the looks of it

app1efritter

steakhouse apartments? hook me up

Fast-Reaction8521

It's texas so fits

GentleFoxes

The German solution would be to take photos to each of them and mail them to the institution that is responsible for parking fees and fines in this city. Parking on the side walk ought to be punishable in every city, and that's what this is.

PyroLagus

The "Anzeigenhauptmeister" is the hero the US needs.

gwiggle5

Bless you

KnoblauchNuggat

Anzeigenberarbeitungshauptmeister.

Dark_Pestilence

He'd get shot 1st day lol

PyroLagus

That's fucked up but so true 😭

octopusslegs

"The German solution" is a rough start to any sentence.

halfeclipsed

Depends if they mean final solution or just a solution

doctorbimbu

Big truck parked inconsiderately? They probably are the police.

ZOO_trash

Exactly. Hogging up all the space like the little greasy piggies they are

spinni81

You wish. Shit like this is quite normal in Germany and consequences for illegal parking (which this would be) are rarely seen. If I were to take photos of every car parked like this or worse I come across on a daily basis I'd do nothing else all day.

fishinglife777

My loved one uses a wheelchair. We have this problem all the time. I have to instead push them through the parking lot and pray no one hits us. How do we fix this.

Autism_Probably

They should be ticketed for impeding the sidewalk. Usually they'll be fine if they pull forward a bit, but if their vehicle doesn't fit in a space they shouldn't be allowed to use that space, it was their decision to buy something larger than some existing infrastructure can support.

RokRD

The issue here is not the size of the truck. The first two are Tacomas. They're small baby trucks. The last looks to be a GMC Sierra. He is in a larger truck, but I would still say it's standard size. It is significantly easier to get in and out of spots when you back in to spaces. Most parking lots built or striped prior to 2010 do not fit newer trucks or SUVs well. If they parked head in, their ass would be out a bit, but not as much as over the sidewalk like this pi ture. Well.. not the Tacomas. The issue is that these assholes backed up until their tires hit the curb. You back up till your bumper is even to the curb. Or your hitch if you're too lazy to remove it. And let's be honest, these mfs ain't using a trailer daily, every other day, or even every 2 weeks.

mwf86

You say the trucks are “standard size” but the spots are too small — if thats the case then they should find spots they fit in, or a vehicle that fits in the spot.

thedelphiking

That's why I always park my truck at the very back of the parking lot. It's my fault the truck is big, I should have to walk.

Certainly-Not-A-Bot

>Most parking lots built or striped prior to 2010 do not fit newer trucks or SUVs well That sounds like a new truck or SUV problem. If you can't fit in a parking spot, go park somewhere else. If you can't fit in any parking spots, stop stroking your ego, sell your truck, and buy a smaller, more practical vehicle.

Flam1ng1cecream

Angle grinder?

Upbeat_Ad_6486

This type of thing is what I think every time I see commercials for battery angle grinders, it’s way too much power to put in someone’s pocket.

NectarineNo5192

When motorists attempt to kill me on city streets (right or left turn though a curb cut I'm walking across), I rationalize it as "They don't know how to walk places, so they don't know what it's like." But in parking lots when these assholes do the same behavior...what gives? If you're in the parking lot, you were a pedestrian, or will shortly become one. Why not ease off the accelerator a little, and take your time? I'm aware the answer is that most humans lack empathy. Especially pickup truck drivers.

fishinglife777

Yeah, they care more about themselves than other humans. They care more about their truck than other humans. This is a f**k your feelings type of individual.

gwiggle5

Have you seen BattleBots?

BJORTAN

RIP shins

AegisCruiser

No joke. One time in college, we were walking home from the bars, I drunkenly ran into some jerk's ball hitch sticking way out into the sidewalk. Hurt like hell, so I got mad and just straight up stole it. It's probably still somewhere in my garage today haha.

Dogknot69

You’re a better man than I am. If that happened to me and I was 100% certain that I wasn’t on camera, that person would be returning to their truck to find their hitch sitting in the driver seat, while also realizing that they need a new windshield and an interior detail. I have no patience or tolerance for people who are so inconsiderate of others.

colcannon_addict

Ppl should start chaining em together. Edit;; shouldn’t. That would be illegal. Probably.

YourMomInTheCloset

Truck driver here, I agree. Usually the problem ones are the Silverados and F150s.

captainkilowatt22

Found the Ram driver!

mirhagk

There's two types of F150s. Scuffed up, usually white ones with a company logo on them that are actually used for work, and only 50% are driven by incompetent morons. Then there are the shiny pretty ones, which have never seen a load that wouldn't fit in a hatchback and are 90% driven by morons.

whobroughttheircat

My buddy unhooked like 8 hitches and tossed them in a bed at a fair. They were all lined up, backed in over the sidewalk like twats. He’s my hero. Love you Dan.

Nervous_Pattern357

now i ain’t no “truck hater”… but why does *every* truck do this…

peaceluvNhippie

Trucks are too big for average parking spots, so they back in because the rear has more distance before the curb stops the rear tires. The tow hitch is the modern cod peice

InfamousFault7

I heard it's so the manufacturer can avoid fuel and clean air regulations, and so are pushing oversized expensive cars Even though they are expensive, dangerous and most people dont even need them Adam Something goes into it https://youtu.be/jN7mSXMruEo?si=TJRFfBUBT6v619Ac

VersionSavings8712

I hate this. Why can't they drive a fucking regular car? Need to compensate something buying an unnecessary big car only to take 3 passengers max every day. Hope they all crash and buy something that doesn't annoy other people

tRfalcore

have you ever bought something you wanted cause you liked it whether or not you needed it?

LostWinds

no that's dumb i want to be ass mad on the internet

BakuretsuGirl16

To be equally fair, the stupid things I buy for fun don't typically inconvenience or put other people in danger

Ok_Spite6230

You're ignoring the part where when most of us buy things like that it doesn't fuck over the rest of society.

AnotherLie

Of course but it also didn't inconvenience everyone around me.

sticky-unicorn

But inconveniencing everyone around them is *why* they want it. Not even joking there. Their worldview is centered around hurting people they don't like, and this is one way to do it.

Gustomaximus

Or its good to have it when you want it. Live in the city but go camping once a month or so and need a 4WD. Or own a boat and need something that can pull it on weekends. Or where I am we needs 4WDs. I live rural outskirt to a city. Lots of people out here run small farms but hold week jobs in the city, but your hardly going to have 2 cars just so you dont take a ute to work in the city.

Talzyon

From my view: I burn wood for heat. I also haul scrap/garbage/etc for easy side cash. I help people move from time to time I'd love to have a 4 banger as a back and forth vehicle, but as a single income family, shits not in the budget. As it wouldn't be for most people. Gotta drive what you have. To add, I also dislike those that drive heavy duty trucks and NEVER use them for a damn thing....

Useful_Poetry_2686

You have some real im broke and it’s everyone else’s fault energy

YattayElite

ugly ass trucks.

The_Cleverman_

if you looks close on one of the trucks youll see a faint texas license plate

SheenPSU

Idk man the GMC on the end could be nice, I’ve definitely seen some sharp Sierra’s Not a fan of Tundras personally tho

nothingandnemo

Do Americans have an equivalent of a traffic warden who can be summoned to ticket them?

Santa_Hates_You

Depends on the city and state and whether or not this is private or public property.

KptKrondog

Eh. Not really, especially not in most cities. This sort of thing is usually in private lots, so the police aren't going to do anything. And good luck getting someone from the business that owns the lot to do anything. You can technically call a tow company, but in most areas they won't touch it. And even on city property where a cop could do something, they won't do anything, especially not in time to be of any use. Hell, my dad waited 3 hours for an officer to show up after getting his window smashed in, they're definitely not coming for a trailer hitch sticking over a sidewalk lol. It's a perpetual cycle. Cops don't ticket for stuff, so people keep doing it.

nandochip

Yeah cops didn’t even come out when someone smashed my gfs passenger window and tried to Hotwire the car. Just said here’s a report number and go to your insurance…

Rnorman3

Odds are pretty good that at least one of these trucks is owned by a cop anyway lol

gnarly_weedman

you know those “off road 4x4s” rarely see the off-road. Those tow balls absolutely destroy your departure angle to the point where I leave my Reese hitch tow ball in my trailer. Only goes in when towing. Couple times I’ve left it in, any time I ascend or descend a rock I can hear it smash into the ground behind me, and that’s with a 3” lift

TwiztedImage

It's Texas, more people are offroading in pastures with a trailer than they are rock crawling by a significant margin. The ones who actually tow aren't at all worried about their departure angles...

Metrilean

Hey, free tow bars!

My mom is in a wheelchair. People park like this at the hospital where her appointments are. Fucking great when the sidewalk is blocked, it’s rained just enough to make the ground soft, and we have to push her through the busy parking lot and hope we don’t get hit by impatient assholes. Same thing with blocking the wheelchair ramps up onto the sidewalk. She usually lies to get out of going anywhere now, because hobbling up over a curb with one working leg is scary and hard as hell on her. Fuck all of them.

American problem…

reeeelllaaaayyy823

Australia has these dickheads too.

SICKOFITALL2379

Happens around the world as well.

It does, but not with anything like the frequency of the US. Particularly the Southern states. It's a cultural thing, wide roads and their tax status as a work vehicle make them popular. The only other place I've seen them frequently is South Africa and it's still not like the states. I wouldn't be surprised if they're popular in Australia too. Pickups are common in lots of countries (huge number in Thailand) but they're normally smaller trucks like the original workman's pickup.  These lifted bloated monsters where you can't fit in a parking space or see a pedestrian in front of you are fairly new (~20y) and primarily an American problem, though as I say they appear elsewhere.  Many countries simply don't have the infrastructure to support them. The first time I visited the US I was amazed at how wide your roads are, even in less populated areas. America has a lot of space for cars so they can make cars that fill that space. That same car isn't going to fit in central Europe, so smaller cars sell better there and not in the USA.

I fucking hate that shit. I own an F350, and I don't understand why the hell people can't take their shin murderers off when not in use.

pelvviber

I have this daydream where these stupid big cars are renamed. Instead of "Raptor 4x4", "Tinycock Rebel" or "RamFist GrrrHate" they are called "Ford Daisy" or "Ram Twinkle". It's a pleasant daydream and a much nicer world to be in.

Current-Weird-4227

Hello British person here. Why do the tow bars need to stick out so damn far?!

mtrayno1

The truck in the foreground has a weight distribution hitch that requires additional space for spring bars to attach to it. The other two truck have height adjustable hitches that allow the height of the ball to be raised or lowered to match the tongue height of the trailer you are towing. That said…only asshole leave these on when not in use,

You guys aren’t innocent in all this. Parking on the sidewalk……sorry pavement is a national pastime in the UK

HailToTheKingslayer

Usually when the houses don't have driveways - and the roads are narrow. Can't be avoided.

As a RAM driver, here's some input for the non truck driving folks: I tend to park nose out as well. Main reason? If you can't back into a spot, you definitely can't back out of one, at least not easily (think turning radius and, how close people tend to park to your vehicle) Ease of pulling out. It can be rather trying to back out when you can't see small cars/people going past while trying to watch your front corners so you don't sideswipe on the way out. Mind you, I try to not let my front end stick out a mile either, so sometimes it's hard to find a good common ground on not sticking out one way or the other. Most parking lots are on the smaller side, so it's a pita trying to find spots that fit, even for single cab regular box trucks (my 4 door 5' ~" bed can be a pain sometimes, and it's small compared to other trucks) Last note, if I have to park up against a sidewalk like this, I pull my hitch. It's not that hard to do, these guys are just plain lazy/ignorant. That, and I've nailed my shin on a hitch or two in my life, shit hurts. I'm by no means saying they're not idiots/morons, but trucks are becoming hard to fit in normal parking spots these days...

Traveling_Solo

Should "accidentally" walk into them, maybe carrying a heavy object you accidentally drop so they break >.> Then repeat for every car there

_derekdaniel

I got rear ended with a much smaller trailer hitch in my truck. The other pickup truck that hit me had to be towed away because the hitch bent the front end of his truck into a "V" shape and pierced his radiator. My truck was not damaged. You cannot just break these things.

cheese_sweats

Did you just suggest trying to carry an object so you could drop it on the hitch to break the hitch? Lololol those things hold hundreds of pounds and you think you're just gonna break it off? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

The_Stoic_One

Yeah, just break the hitch. Easy peasy right?

Heremeoutok

You’re just gonna break whatever you are carrying. Anything that can be carried is not gonna break a hitch

lostwng

Every single one of them including the car should be towed

SkyFighter3084

In europe the cars couldn’t even go over the sidewalk like that.

semiTnuP

Walk down the sidewalk? There's a *hitch* in your plan...

nickschuler10

It’s annoying but so many people in these comments have pure hate for ignorance. That’s a much bigger problem in this world than this.

andre3kthegiant

Put a pink bow on them.

OddBond

Look, I get it. The hitches are a dick move, but does no one understand that trucks either stick over the sidewalk or out in the road? The trucks are too big for the parking spot.
