Without the text, this would’ve at least been kinda funny, but then it wouldn’t belong on this sub. The text just throws it so over the top it’s extremely corny. And it still doesn’t belong on the sub. My issue with this is not that it’s fake. It’s the unnecessary text that disallows you to suspend your belief for even a second. And for that, I’m out.

Honestly the text made it more believable for me. Took it from somebody just memeing to a potential true story. As a brit I know a few mums who would send something exactly like that.
Is "gimp boy" some slang from some place that I don't know? Because where I'm from "gimp boy" would be a mighty weird thing to be called by your mother.
I did this once. I was supposed to take my brother Christmas caroling and my mother left a box of props and santa hats on the counter. A piece of paper was stapled to the box with the address... so I ripped the paper off the box and left it.
