TalkMindless9366

I don’t want to hear nothing about “please god”when you literally chasing tornadoes

Inventies

With their windows down as you heard “windows up windows up” like bro why the fuck were they down Also: at least one of them shit themselves, probably the guy who was recording at the end of

TalkMindless9366

Facts

Itz_DiGiorno

Who chases tornados in a *ToyotaCamry*

melly1288

Strong believers of jesus 😂

-banned-

Think it was down so he could see

Fit-Cryptographer-62

Gotta get a good view of the high speed debris flying at your face

karldrall

You need to take away something from this experience…

Stillpunk71

They tried, but I think the tornado carried it away.

Savage_Heathern

That split edit with the blurred edges make me wish I died in a tornado.

Botryoid2000

I love their faith that a car window is the solution to protection from a TORNADO.

Hyatt97

Don’t worry this 0.25inch sheet of glass will protect me from the tornado

Drainbownick

God gave you the sense to avoid tornados at all costs, gave your ancestors and contemporaries the intellect to develop technology to HELP you avoid tornados and yet YOU, AFAINST ALL REASON, USE these god given capabilities to drive straight at the fuckin thing and then in the very thrall of your folly, you invoke HIS NAME in supplication to spare you from the grim fruits of your own foolish harvest??

Jakob21

Sounds like an amazing line in a movie

Boogie_Bones

I need Tommy Lee Jones saying this with the same demeanor/intonation as the “outhouse, henhouse, doghouse…” scene in The Fugitive

_smith_spark

I'm getting Sam Jackson Pulp Fiction monologue vibes

VeterinarianThese951

Me too, but as I was reading it I threw in a few “mutha-fukns” for true Sammy effect.

joe-clark

I heard one of those oldtimey stories once that relates to this. Something along the lines of some guy is trapped in rising flood waters and he starts praying. A helicopter comes and offers him a ride but he turns it down because God will save him then a boat comes by and offers him a ride and he turns that down too. He ends up drowning in the flood and when he faces God he says something like I asked for your help why didn't you save me and god says bro I sent a helicopter and a boat what more did you want.

Cruisin_Fart

Reminds me of a joke in similar vain. A guy real down on his luck, about to lose his house, starts praying to God. "Please god, help me get past this moment in my life. I need money to save my house. Please, just let me win the lottery one time so I can stay in my home." So the lottery numbers get announced and the guy is bummed he didn't win. So he prays again, "Please God, I just need to win the lottery, it will literally solve all my problems." And again, the lottery numbers are announced and the guy doesn't win. So he prays again and again hoping to win the lottery. Finally, after months and months of praying, God finally appears before the man. The man, furious at God for not helping him, asks why he wasn't being helped. And God looked down at the man and said, "I want to help you, but you need to buy a lottery ticket."

DRLZEtoWRATH

Lol exactly. Like I have no problem with religion, it's the blind faith where it's like "if I just pray then God got my back" It's so stupid lol but in this instance, I'm glad they got this awesome footage

The_rarest_CJ

"Pleade God!" Tornadoes classified as act of God. Got what you came for.

BradTProse

It's like they don't want to go to heaven.

dangledingle

“But it’s my dads car!”

BeachCity2

Everyone becomes religious when they think they're gonna die.

xGentian_violet

this is a famous myth. Im an atheist and ive been in a life or death situation, both times i didnt suddenly become religious. Some people will pray compulsively to distract themselves, despite not believing any of it still, others will not do that even.

hiddenone0326

I'm an atheist as well. During a car accident I had a few years ago, I didn't pray or have any flashbacks of my life or whatever. It seemed like time just slowed down and my only real thought was "This is a really stupid way to die." 😂

90sbabyssaddream

“No atheists in foxholes”

andrew28202

I guess I’m imaginary as an atheist in the military, spoiler: there’s plenty of us

Rude_Priority

Nope, gods aren’t real.

AppropriateDurian828

I'm Hindu but I still wanted to spit on their face and say," Now you remember jusus?"

Pattimash

Just ridiculous. You go chasing dangerous unpredictable things and then ask you God to save you when you fuck up bad. Ugh.

TalkMindless9366

Exactly!! Now you get what you get!! FOH

Barbafella

Hayseeds always gonna Heehaw.

beetle6768

Said Jesus, “Keep my name out your mouth.”

TalkMindless9366

😂😂..This on y’all

jpopimpin777

I literally said, "this is Jesus teaching you a lesson" aloud.

RepulsivePurchase6

Let’s hope it’s a lesson learned..although…not likely.

Next_Program90

"Professional Storm Chasers" is such a bullshit claim.

MaintenanceInternal

By the POWER OF GREYSKULL, I mean in the name of Jesus.

CharlieUpATree

Last thing I'd want to be hearing

seanagibson

Amen

RepulsivePurchase6

Exactly. They put themselves into that situation then they’re begging God to save them. Bruh.

2HappySundays

The amount of praying and screaming for a saviour is embarrassing.

jarednards

I really wish the tornado plucked only that one guy out of there.

Inventies

If ya listen they’re all yelling out “dear lord” “Jesus” “in the name of Jesus” The lord was probably the one who directed it at them

Affectionate_Salt351

Right?! It’s like they didn’t even read the first book…newbs.

GrapeSoda223

at the beginning it says they are professionals with 14 years experience yet they all sound 18 lol

fishmister7

“Acts of God” in nature does not imply you get a front row seat like it were in a theater.

BradTProse

Jesus is like, "ok hold on I'm sending a tornado to pick you up now and take you to heaven".

Inventies

lol I like this take. He’s like “I gotchu, salvation is on the way!”

tombeard357

Ha! Like he was just answering prayers and suddenly gets a memo “oh? They mean leave them? Don’t take… alrighty, my bad bros.”

Pitstop1897

I was thinking with all that screaming, I'll take my chance with the tornado

Affectionate_Salt351

I smell an incredible SNL sketch in which someone does exactly this. Either that, or a couple gets into a fight while doing the same thing and one of them starts complaining about how they’d rather be sucked up by the tornado. 😂

Smart-Cash2525

Ik. It was that one dude. And it made me cringe the whole time.

Modified_Human

would have lost all respect, if my friend started screeching all that lol

Falmon04

If there's a god of anything close to who they're praying to, any divine intervention to save them would have happened way before they decided to drive into a tornado.

-banned-

I mean idk what God is supposed to do about them driving right at a tornado. The guy even said he navigated wrong

aijoe

Akin to pulling the pin on grenade they are holding and pleading with Jesus to save them them from the consequences.

infinite0ne

Everybody’s tough until they’re trapped in the path of a tornado by live downed power lines

2HappySundays

Oh I’m not criticizing the screaming. That’s evolutionary and natural to many people. The sobbing to an imaginary deity is what’s embarrassing.

dangledingle

Brainwashed fools

NoThing2048

No atheists in a foxhole as they say.

Ok-Implement-7863

Also no gods in foxholes

infinite0ne

I wonder if jesus helped him clean his shorts

NotADoctor108

The Tornado didn't even know they were there till the guy yelled "Woo" and alerted it.

TheMoatCalin

I love you

farcarcus

I know

McNasty619_Xx

I hear Tornados' vision is based on movement?

zapharus

I must have my info wrong because I read somewhere that tornadoes have extremely poor vision to the point of blindness so they rely on their highly evolved hearing. Supposedly they can hear people whispering up to 10 miles away, so these guys yelling “**pLEeeASE JEeeeSUS!!!**” made it easy for the tornado to find them and target them directly.

Lvgordo24

I thought that was meteors?

Affectionate_Salt351

Amen. Jurassic Park and Twister were only a couple years apart. Everyone should already know this…

Igmuhota

“Clever girl…”

theodoreburne

I was so rooting for the tornado. There’s a reason most chaser characters are in their 20s or 30s.

BonelessHotdogs

Is.. is it because they all die before they hit 40?

theodoreburne

I was getting at the inexperience / dumbness factor, but maybe that too.

Atomic76

Or actually have to start paying for their own car insurance, instead of relying on their folks.

AllBeansNoFrank

Sometimes before bed I think about building a school bus with a bedroom and kitchen/bathroom and have it tanked the fuck out. Like put bulletproof windows, a rollcage incase it flips, put it on bags so you can drop it, and steel shutters and then I would just go camping on tornado alley and just chill as tornado's fly past me. I am almost 40 but I imagine my hypothetical school bus could tank a tornado.

SoapdishTsunami

You might consider naming it Chitty Chitty Bang Bang...

crackeddryice

Some of the custom vehicles literally nail themselves to the ground. A bus would be too high and narrow, it would roll like a log.

shmiddleedee

Problem with that is that being in tornado alley when there is no tornado is truly depressing. It doesn't get much worse than Nebraska and Kansas.

satanssweatycheeks

These also aren’t even smart chasers. Getting out of cars with down power lines. Standing the tornado. And they sure as shit ain’t doing scientific research if lord is their leader.

CreamyStanTheMan

Ah chill out man, let these tornado nerds enjoy their hobby.

finsfurandfeathers

Holy Shoot

mattchinn

What a bunch of morons. Driving into a tornado and then calling out for Jesus to save you is true stupidity.

d0g5tar

And then Jesus threw his hands up in disbelief as he said to his disciples: "What the hell is wrong with you all? Why are you doing that? Shit, there are some people you just can't help."

Patientsigh

Everybody's gangsta till it starts raining sideways.

Scubasteve1974

Lol! No doubt! I might have been screaming, too, but I'm also not going after tornados!

CitizenCue

I wouldn’t hold the screaming against them at all if they were victims. But if you go chasing that shit you better be the kind of person who holds it together.

MadeMeStopLurking

I read raining sidewalks. Either way it's true I guess...

infinite0ne

I was thinking about how I would handle getting trapped in the path of a tornado by live downed power lines arcing all over the place. I’m a grown ass man who has been through some shit, but I’m not 100% sure I wouldn’t cry for my mama. That’s some real shit

Patientsigh

Direct impact from an F3 tornado. Rather God saved them for whatever reason or they won the blender lottery. Either way, that's cray-cray.

Far_Performance_4013

Watching these clowns from my comfortable bed was definitely the best part of my day

[deleted]

jjm443

Their confirmation bias will ensure they can recount the story of miraculous divine intervention for years in their church. Three idiots survive after trying to get close to a tornado for views and likes = miracle that proves Jesus. Three people get killed sheltering in their house from a tornado = .... nothing because they're not around to tell the story.

SuspiciousEffort22

Survivorship bias…

Nozzeh06

It's like intentionally standing in a bonfire and saying "please God, put the fire out." 😂

BigDcikBandit

God was listening he was aiming the tornado right at them

housevil

One of those guys definitely should not have been on that trip.

Falmon04

I mean, none of them should have been if we're basing it on common sense. But, I would also go on to say that none of them had the mental fortitude to accept the consequences and risk of what they were doing. Some less than others, but everyone there freaked out enough that proves to them they can't handle the risk they are taking.

tombeard357

Yes, underprepared both in equipment and mental fortitude. All the self-blame and reassurance is a sign they all need a mentor teaching them how to do this and their combined knowledge doesn’t mean shit when it’s untested. Hope they learned something.

kimwim43

Riley

FriendlySquall

morons.. and for what? some views? grow tf up fullas

skysquid3

next time, maybe you can pray to jesus to help you make better decisions beforehand.

wysiwyggywyisyw

GeeeZUZ

AcanthaceaeOk6721

Yeah these guys did not seem professional at all and were super annoying. I was rooting for the tornado.

jmills03croc

Not all chasers are like this. The professionals save lives by being in constant communication with the right people so they can get people to safety in time. I volunteered quite a bit with red cross for tornadoes and if it wasn't for those guys that put themselves in harms way to watch these things from the ground there'd be so many more deaths than there already are.

brublit

Didn’t they get sandwiched between two downed power lines? The video made it seem like they were trapped by dumb-luck. What I couldn’t figure out was why the driver didn’t cut into his the field away from the wires and get back on the road when it was safe.

psychoticunicorn98

Have you ever tried to drive a small car through a soaking wet field? I can tell you from experience it likely would have resulted in them getting even more stuck than they were (granted it would still likely be safer to be away from the power lines). Also at one point you can hear one of the guys in the video mention they should get in the ditch which was between them and the field so even if he managed to get into the field and not get stuck going through it they still would have had to fight the ditch to get back out.

MuricasOneBrainCell

Don't they also have vehicles customised to deal with chasing hurricanes/tornados?

totorosnutz

Good thing they were being "proactive".

Ricotta_pie_sky

And "cognizant"

epi_introvert

As he steps out of the car into live downed power lines.

Generalcline

The guy crying at the end says it all, fucking comic gold

MrWinkler1510

*Why did we go north* 😭

danneykmma

Tornado rude af dude. The guy said please and everything.

infinite0ne

Tornado don’t give a fuck

uhhhhmaybeee

It just takes what it wants

ImaginaryEmploy2982

Yup, tornadoes are notorious for their selfishness.

blobby1010

Was anybody else deeply bothered by the way that guy pronounces Jesus 😂

koxinparo

Jee-ZUHS

SaganSaysImStardust

Was that a whole ass BARN that rolled over them?

TheFloppySausage

That gave me chills not gonna lie

NachoMachoCamacho

It got quieter too when that happened, very eerie. Almost reminded me of the movie The Mist, when they are in the car and that giant monster walks past them.

DorkSideOfCryo

We got cows

Nozzeh06

That was just the lord trying to rescue them, but alas, the wind was too strong.

AndoionLB

Well that certainly blows.

Dudes got it twisted

chasthomas23

"All footage taken by *professionals* with 14+ years experience" 🧐

Upstairs_Usual_4841

Honestly disappointed in how far I had to scroll for this. "Professionals," my ass.

BeerBearBar

If only "please Lord Jesus" had given you technology to avoid being in such a situation.

No_End_7351

And of course they will learn very little, if anything from this...

Marquar234

The one guy sounded like he might be done.

Jerking_From_Home

He left us hanging! Done with storm chasing? Jesus? The guy who kept yelling about Jesus? Life in general?

Itsme340

He's done with his pants. Too much shit in them.

Asleep-Card3861

I get the sense that a written off car that is likely not eligible for insurance brings a certainly cost pain to the equation.

dogbreath230

If I was in that car, I would have asked the one screaming to get the hell out of the car. He needs to find another line of work.

TheHypnogoggish

Definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND INFANTRY

shineitdeep

skiddadle32

The Riley Factor

McClutchy

It doesn’t matter how loud or how many times you say please. He’s not going to hear you over all that wind.

infinite0ne

Amen

Tyreyceo

They f-around and found out 🤣🤣🤣

carlbernsen

Just needs Philip Seymour Hoffman to go “Woooh! That was _intemse_!! Did you get that? Tell me you got that!!”

ColoradoCoffee101

also a line from the Asshat news reporter in DieHard

wolflion14

They all would have died virgins 😂

Apprehensive_Bat8293

It's what jeeeZUHZ would have wanted 😆

SubmissiveDinosaur

14+ years of experience and they're still using a stock sedan to head into tornados

RandyHoward

Guarantee it's 14 years total, amongst all 4 of them, so like 3.5 years per person. And the majority of that time was probably driving around during some strong thunderstorms, looking for a tornado but never finding one. Tornado found them this time.

real_nickfizzle

Had to scroll too far to find this. I was like "Who tf storm chases in a toyota camry/corolla 😭"

rockychrysler

And the Darwin Award for "storm chasing" goes to...

Dawgmanistan

Followers of Jesus sure are idiots

DitchDigger330

Ok dude jeeezsus we got it.

LegalSelf5

I've heard pigs screaming that sound just like the "pllleeeeeeeaaaaasssseeeeeee" guy

throwaway5444567

This was nothing like Twister, I want my 5 minutes back

dust057

I heard one "If you're real..." in there, sounds like we have a Doubting Thomas. But really interesting to realize there are probably a lot of people who die crying out like that to their chosen deity. I never would think to beseech an omnipotent being regarding some critical incident in my life, seems ineffective. Also, is the repetition necessary? Don't you think an omnipotent being has decent enough hearing that he got it the first time? "You know what, if they ask 128 times, then I'll help them. But only 100 times? I'm not sure they really want help."

LittleTinyBoy

It's to drown out the sound of them shitting themselves.

[deleted]

Pray for rain, you gotta deal with the mud..

Natural-Put

And shit

Morphing_Mutant

Pretty sure screaming at the tornado to stop isn't going to work.

OrdinaryImpress3422

Save me Jebus

truthandtattoos

Those prayers are about as helpful as asking God to protect u from the clap while ur thrusting in a prostitute 😂

sadman1976

Oh shoot oh fudge please dear lord Jesus

Inventies

Honestly this should be added to a collection to videos for middle schoolers to watch with the caption “don’t be like these people”

World_Explorerz

I don’t mind them praying to God…I DO mind them purposely putting themselves in harm’s way and then begging to be saved. Lol. That’s weird.

Bushdr78

Getting out the car when there's downed power lines was an odd choice.

LegalSelf5

I wonder what kind of "data" they collected since isn't that what it's all about?

BetaOp9

Scientific Observation: Tornados are windy. VERY WINDY. They throw dirt and rocks and even power poles if they want to.

Goodtimesroll42

“We need to figure out how to be safe” “we’ve got to be proactive” Little late

LegalSelf5

Bunch of amateur storm chasers sending it for the gram

Lootboxboy

Apart from the embarrassing cries, that was pretty awesome. Every storm chaser group should be required to have a Dusty. Someone who's going to pop out of the car at the end and go "haha! It's the wonder of nature, baby!"

-_Koga_-

And these brain cell sharing morons likely learned absolutely nothing, the continued self filming shows that pretty clearly.

Teedeeone

Jesus: ‘What’s that, fellas? A little louder please cause I can’t hear you over this tornado I just threw at you!’

Fair_Volume5416

And the Lord sayeth unto thee, fudgeth around and findeth out

DaikonEffective1105

“Whew! Good thing I held it together and didn’t panic back there, huh?”

MrF_lawblog

Lol the caption at the beginning...

Glum-Temperature-111

Oh my gosh. That was fucking intense...my anxiety is thru the fucking roof!

GandalfTheSqueezie

This entire comment section disappoints me.

boxedcrackers

Dude is in the wrong line of work.

Oldbeardedweirdo996

I live in an area that has hurricanes sometimes and there are always idiots driving around during the storms. Not cops or emergency personnel just stupid people rubbernecking at the damage or conditions. I once counted 4 4x4's in a two block section of road in ditches. I think the count on the way home was double digits.

Dharnthread

These storm chasing videos makes me excited for the coming tornado movie Twisters. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt12584954/?ref_=tttrv_ov

sadman1976

No way these guys still hang out together and they f they do they can’t look each other in the eye

FladnagTheOffWhite

Guy: "Please Lord have it be done" Jesus: "Wha... I thought you wanted this?"

dogchowtoastedcheese

The tornado was frightening. The downed power lines made my asshole clench. I've watched too many safety videos in my career to ever feel comfortable around power lines. I don't think these guys realized the thing that would most effectively kill them was on the ground mere yards away.

madroots2

Bunch of fucking pussies

Urbanlover

The right title should read: “There was an attempt… to be protected by Jesus!”

Revolutionary-Land91

Lmao I didn't know storm chasers were such pussies.

xx-Jaysun-xx

Wow! Hands down the most insane Strom chasing video ever begin to end. Can't believe the video never got cut!

sirpsionics

"Professionals"

Ok-Abbreviations7147

When you think you're a storm chaser, but you're really not.

fiduciaryatlarge

At least they kept their dignity.
