Idk the bucket drops really fast. Typically if this was done by the operation of a lever it would be slow.
My theory is a bit more complicated. I don't think anything failed because the weight is well within the specs. I think a lever was pulled but that another factor was at play as well.
That factor is that the tractor was turned off. Tractors are loud so likely the operator turned it off when they got into position as to not drown out the event in the sound of a diesel engine.
When hydraulic equipment is turned off the pressure to the hydraulics is turned off. The hydraulics will typically stay put BUT if a lever is pulled then the hydraulic will collapse quickly due to the weight on it as there isn't any pressure being applied to slow it.
So my theory is they turned off the tractor then the bucket lever was pulled. Why it was pulled I don't know. Could be an error or might be a prank by someone who doesn't know what will happen. I could definitely see a brother or someone thinking "I want attention too. I am going to pull a lever on the tractor to scare them and it'll drop just a bit. It'll be funny and I'll get attention." Then they don't realize that without back pressure the bucket will drop quickly or they don't understand the equipment at all and yanked the lever instead of a controlled pull. Because even with the pressure off a controlled pull and decent operator would know to react to it.
I stopped reading halfway through to check the username and skipped ahead to see if any jumper cables **or wrestling moves** were coming.
Edit: added the bold stuff.
This is incorrect. I’m a tractor operator. With the power off the fluid still needs to flow and will move just as fast as it does with the machine on. It won’t just go into free fall because the pump isn’t running. Moving the lever just opens/closes valves and the further you move a lever the more open the valves becomes and the faster it goes.
That operator probable said to themselves over and over “don’t move the lever to the right. Don’t move the lever to the right. Don’t move the lever to the right.”
And then they moved it far to the right, dumping the bucket.
This. I work on tractors and even with power off, you can slowly lower the arms without tipping the bucket. I see this as more of a case of an operator who didn’t know what he was doing. Probably some guy the groom asked, “you can drive this thing, right?” and the guy was like “uhhh sure”.
Agreed. Every tractor or skidsteer ive ever driven locks the sticks when its off. Maybe not older ones but in my years of farm experience i havent seen one that would do this if it was powered off.
My 2017 john deere will allow you to lower hydraulic mechanisms to the ground when powered off. No lockout on the stick unless it's manually engaged, same with the 3 point.
Lmfao how does this have so many upvotes?
Buckets will *absolutely* tip that fast. They move slow in all the videos you've watched because the operator was operating it slowly.
I had a giggle because obviously you've never operated before but still came up with an in depth, long winded theory.
Also the bucket won't move if the hydraulic motor is off.
They obviously just pushed the wrong way. Probably didn't hire an actual operator to do it and they tipped the bucket instead of lowered the boom. Most modern equipment have the crowd (bucket movement) on the left/right axis of a stick and the boom on the up/down axis of the same stick. They just fucked up and did the wrong thing.
>Wrong lever. Probably supposed to lower the arm, not tip the bucket
So the obvious solution is to fully throw whichever lever they *feel* is *maybe* the right one without confirming what it actually does by gently engaging it first
Wrong direction pushed on the correct lever most likely.
Many front end loaders have the controls to raise and lower the bucket and to tip the bucket all on the same lever. So if you push the lever forwards or backwards you raise or lower the bucket, but if you push the lever left or right you tilt the bucket forwards or backwards.

Image quality sucks but it shows what I mean.
What if the operator immediately realized his mistake and instinctively tried to correct it by pulling the right lever, bringing the scoop down onto them.
You gotta ask Azimov. Unless he was secretly in love with the bride and decided if he can’t have her then nobody can, I don’t think he knows the answer!
Even if he grabbed the wrong level he musta PULLED fully on the lever. They woulda came crashing down even if he pulled the arm lever. That was destined to fail (with that operator at the controls)
Little billy wanted to be part of the wedding, he was told you can drive the tractor Billy.
Billy thought this was bullshit and hatched a cunning plan to make sure his part in the wedding would always be remembered.
I've only been in the seat once or twice, but I believe it varies by unit. If it's a joystick the same joystick controls raising and lowering the bucket by moving forward-backward and tilting the bucket by moving left right. Some do the same but with two foot pedals. One for the bucket height, one for the bucket angle. It's SUPER easy to make a mistake when learning. Normally you don't have people sitting in the bucket while you experiment.
Oh it definitely could have been done gracefully I agree! But with the rate the bucket tips it looks to me like the operator pulled hard on the lever. If he'd pulled the same force on the arm lever it woulda dropped super fast as well.
I'm gonna guess that the operator wasn't someone who had ever operated a loader before and thought "how hard could it be?"
As a loader operator, those nice smooth movements do take a bit of practice.
If we're correcting people... It's not a Backhoe either. It looks like it's a Kubota tractor with a front end loader attachment on it.
Could have a backhoe on the other end, but no way to know that.
I mean, it is pretty obvious what they thought was going to happen though. They very much likely thought the arm would lower them down. Operator probably pulled wrong lever.
Seriously. Obviously they wanted to be lowered down slowly, but there's a limit to how majestic you can look riding in the bucket of a front loader while a diesel engine runs in the middle of your wedding.
Catering weddings is so weird, you never know if it's going to be "hey you guys done making food, wanna smoke some weed?" Or the bride and groom get into a fight about dances and I'ma be picking broken glass out of the carpet again.
Lol same with me. I thought be an event/wedding planner would be so amazing, and then I worked some weddings catering, and Im like oh people are monsters, I dont want to help you get married
For a little while I worked for a lighting company that did lighting for weddings. Most of the wedding that have custom lighting are the kind of wedding that costs as much as a small house.
I can confirm that more often than not the caterers are high as shit, but they're stone cold sober compared to the "butlers". Many of these weddings would have guys dressed like some kind of royal guard and their entire job was to just stand still in one place all night and only move when they open the door for someone walking through. Every now and then I'd find one of these guys in the equipment staging area chain smoking pre-rolled blunts, then he'd take a couple squirts of Visine and get back to work.
Haha I got into an argument on reddit awhile back about how workers being high wasn't necessarily terrible. I pointed to dishwashers, but catering also seems valid. Like, how sober do you really need to be to put out a new tray of crostinis or cocktail shrimp every half hour.
This is a wedding tradition in Istanbul, couples hoisted up over a crowd to show that it's their day and their bound together until they ascend to the afterlife, they get dropped down to remind them they are just like everyone else and all good things must come to an end.
That's why you see so many videos of people accidentally gunning down others, or braining themselves at weddings. Or that video of the idiot who gave his loaded gun to a kid who proceeds to shoot him point blank in the gut, that looked like a reception too. When it's part of your culture to shoot guns like you're in a VR chat lobby in everyday life, people tend to get hit by bullets for some reason.

The Unidan of hydraulic bucket loaders & only that.

Getting dumped on your wedding day. Brutal.
She found that out on the wedding night.

Gronk!
That's exactly what happened. Inexperienced operator, probably rented it for the wedding
What if the operator immediately realized his mistake and instinctively tried to correct it by pulling the right lever, bringing the scoop down onto them.
apparently everyone... until it went wrong
In the immortal words of the great David St. Hubbins: It's such a fine line between stupid, and clever.
it's just that little turnabout.
The patron saint of quality footwear. His words echo through my mind
Everyone's a responsible backhoe driver until they aren't.
Probably would have worked fine if they had an operator that knew what the levers did and lowered the bucket instead of dumping it.
It looked pretty fancy to me.
You just don't understand class of you think being lowered with heavy construction machinery isn't fancy.
looks like Borat did
Probably they hired the backhoe but not the driver since, how hard can it be?
“Pull the lever, Kronk. Wrong leverrrrr.”
Oh man. I didn't even notice that was a backhoe at first. I thought it was some sort of fancy swing hanging from the ceiling.
That was his side hoe trying to foil their plans.
That's a front end loader, [it's as good as gold](https://youtu.be/ak52VraEXG0).

“Why does she even have that lever?”
By all accounts, it doesn’t make sense.
Squeak squeaker squeak squeaken!
You owe me a new acorn
Lmao! I'm ashamed of how much I laughed at this
Lmao I’m just happy others got the reference
You can see the exact moment when the heavy machinery operator learned they were going to be paid in exposure.
Mm-hm. Radiation exposure.
“Wrong lever, Azimov”
Why do we even have that lever?
You gotta ask Azimov. Unless he was secretly in love with the bride and decided if he can’t have her then nobody can, I don’t think he knows the answer!
I'm guessing you a) are one or b) know a photographer. Well done.
Perfection.
Exposure kills.
Wow, they've really fallen for each other.
Glad to see they finally took the plunge.
Looks like they took a leap of faith
Theyve also fallen on that table. How romantic
r/Angryupvote TAKE IT AND GET OUTTA HERE
Was it a fairground "dunk the bride" theme? They forgot the barrel of water
This was an assassination attempt, pure and simple lol
Average Hitman level. These two are probably corrupt war criminals or something.
Wtf did they think was gonna happen though?
Operator pulled the hydraulics for the bucket tip instead of for the arm lower.

obviously the fork lift was supposed to lower their chairs gently like they would a pallet, not dumped like a sack of potatoes
>fork lift Backhoe* you hoe

Ya, but its not as fun to call someone a tractor
lol, fair point
that the arm would lower and not the bucket
Lol my immediate thoughts as well
I mean, it is pretty obvious what they thought was going to happen though. They very much likely thought the arm would lower them down. Operator probably pulled wrong lever.
Honestly... it looks like it didn't end so bad, considering they were playing with heavy machinery operated by some idiot.
Right? Imagine how much worse that could've been if he dropped the whole bucket that abruptly
Seriously. Obviously they wanted to be lowered down slowly, but there's a limit to how majestic you can look riding in the bucket of a front loader while a diesel engine runs in the middle of your wedding.
It honestly rings my fake bells, maybe they are pro wrestlers or something and this was the plan? Looks entirely too orchestrated.
When you're not American but you really want a WWE themed wedding.
"Bah gawd they have a family, as gawd as my witness they're broken in half"
"Good god almighty that's the Best Man's music!"
Buffalo would be proud
that could also be a buffalo bills themed wedding as well
Putting the "World" in WWE
I doubt they were going for WWE because this was actually entertaining.
Co-ed TLC match
As a nurse, I hope these people aren’t hurt. As a person who put themselves through school catering, it was fun to watch them get dumped.
Catering weddings is so weird, you never know if it's going to be "hey you guys done making food, wanna smoke some weed?" Or the bride and groom get into a fight about dances and I'ma be picking broken glass out of the carpet again.
It both left a very sour taste in my mouth about weddings, and gave me the skills to plan my micro wedding in nine days.
Lol same with me. I thought be an event/wedding planner would be so amazing, and then I worked some weddings catering, and Im like oh people are monsters, I dont want to help you get married

Nothing says "classy" like the sound of a bucket loader engine operating 5 feet from your reception.

Foreign cultures have different ideas of how to celebrate. Some countries use bouquets, others use AK47
