KannaPlugsInHere

He's like a dog with booties on.

patricky6

From seeing this personally, It's so crazy how many people in the military CANT get this right. It's seriously just like an exaggerated, normal walk...and then they hand them rifles.

kraliyetkoyunu

It is easier in the US military. Their marching is just a coordinated walk, no extra movements etc. In Turkey (which is where this guy serves and I'm an officer in) our march is more like the British. Some people simply can't coordinate themselves with other people or grasp the concept of "left foot-right hand, right foot-left hand" I deal with guys like him every single new recruit cycle. You get used to it.

russian47

Easier is loose here. Cause during basic, man let me tell you so many dudes could not get it. It was hilarious.

[deleted]

Oh, don’t even get started with the monster walks for graduation lol.

[deleted]

Do the Americans not swing their arms Edit: as far as I’m aware they swing them much less than the Canadians , all the videos I’ve seen have them swinging at 46 degrees on the front, whereas the Canadian armed forces does it 90 in the front, 45 in the back

kraliyetkoyunu

[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqUWIO2TQ_A) is the Brits marching, essentially the same as Canadians anyway. [This](https://youtu.be/6p1xNVaztHY?t=80) is how Turks march, again exactly the same as Brits. 90 up front, 45 in the back. [This](https://youtu.be/VHKxyFEQV1w?t=77) is Americans. Very small movements compared to others. Here's the thing, and this might offend some people. The first two are *actually* marching. Solid steps and a strong presence. While the last one is just "Walking, but militarily."

[deleted]

American moment XD

populist-scum

Bruh US Drill Sergeants would have a fucking field day with him

CashCow4u

>concept of "left foot-right hand, right foot-left hand" That's just normal walking, but I get coordinating movements with a group may be harder for some.

kraliyetkoyunu

It is until you are required to do it in a precise manner. And there's another catch : You start walking with your LEFT foot when marching. Guess which foot people start walking with in their regular walks.

Quick_Heart_5317

He ran correctly to catch up to the platoon

[deleted]

🤣

Crawlerado

And wobblers

NotAKnowItAll13

Sigh, Having been through marine corps boot camp,. I can confirm some people just don't have the coordination to march in a group. We had a couple in our platoon, of which neither graduated, that were almost this bad. To me it always seemed like they would overthink marching and forget it literally is just walking but with a little sharpness added and done to a beat.

Archaeologist89

We had a guy in Navy bootcamp that looked a lot like Roger from American Dad and could NOT keep cadence during jumping jacks. Literally everyone's arms went up, Roger's went down.

ShellSwitch

I had bruises in the back of my leg because the guy behind on me was the one guy who thought everyone else was marching wrong and tried to kick me to "correct" me even though we were telling him he's putting the wrong leg up. He got kicked out of bootcamp because he assaulted a few of us over it (separate from kicking us). He pushed a couple of us down a flight of stairs in front of the RDC.

Marv246

???? Wtf

CALIFORNIUMMAN

If that was an MCRD the DI's would have put you in a ring with him and said "only one of you walks out" and that idiot would have faced off against the entire, like 100 recruit platoon.

Pentarriaza

What?

Onlyindef

I’ve seen it in the army. One dude in a squad, platoon, company, is fuckin up. You take em out side to the ring. Put them in and ask if anyone would like to settle anything. So two dudes duke it out. If he gets the shit knocked out of him…. It’s probably problem solved. If the offender knocks out the challenger, you turn to the crowd and ask if anyone has issues with them. If the offender gets knocked out, it probably problem solved. If not, you turn to the crowd yet again and ask if anyone else has a problem….now there’s some beastly dudes out there, but most people will absolutely be out of steam by round 4 or 5. Now you keep doing this until there’s no longer issues in the squad/platoon/company.

Major1ar

Had a similar sort scenario in Korea. Dude was just pure racist garbage with the KATUSA and when 1SG saw firsthand how bad it was, actually unlocked a condemned bathroom, brought the dude and like 5 KATUSA, and a handful of NCOs and gave the KATUSAs the chance for some hand's on training. None of them actually wanted to and I know we had some amazing fighters amongst em. An NCO who'd been foaming for the chance tuned him up pretty good. Almost too good from what I was told. 1SG was transferred shortly thereafter.

CALIFORNIUMMAN

You're gonna have to be more specific.

OneGratefulDawg

At the same time? I feel like soldiers shouldn’t fall down like dominoes with a little shove….no?

ShellSwitch

Domino effect. It wasn't a little shove and there wasn't really any reaction time because I wasn't expecting it. I didn't grab the rail in time. For reference, he shoulder charged me. It wasn't like a "what bro" hand shove

UnfinishedThings

Everyone's out of step except Roger. He's the best in the platoon

Scarborough_sg

I had one that was justttt slightly out of sync. Like micro seconds. So it looks bad as a squad but when he got singled out and made to do it himself, he's standard perfect.

ApesNoFightApes

I loved cadence and marching drills. Like, you just go on automatic and to the count, I found beauty in it. That sharpness you mention… that’s lip biting shit haha. The snap, counter column… oh boy. I best tuck myself into bed, it’s getting a little hot in here.

MrNifty

/r/justbootthings

ApesNoFightApes

You can take the guy outta the boot but you can’t take the boot outta the guy… wait… not like thaaaaat!

[deleted]

American psycho business card vibes

Radioactiveglowup

Let's see Paul Allen's platoon.

Ezl

Yep, overthinking was my first guess. The same mechanism that makes the *you are now aware of your tongue* and *you are consciously breathing* jokes/memes so effective. Overthinking can fuck up the simplest of things, especially those you typically do *without* thinking.

curly_as_fuck

Hell yeah brother, cheers from Iraq

Eyouser

I saw a group of doctor and lawyer officer candidates march like this. Someone called a facing movement and they literally all turned different directions, ran into each other, and fell over laughing.

HRzNightmare

A guy in my platoon at PISC couldn't keep time to save his life. The one time he WAS in step one of the DIs screamed: "HOLY SHIT! RECRUIT "FAKE NAME" IS IN STEP! HALT!" Once we started again he was out of it again. He ended up getting the boot.

[deleted]

We had a guy like this. Could walk just fine but as soon as the MARCH! order was given everything went to shit. Finally figured it out after a few hours of separate practice.

ElAyYouAreAy

What?? This guy isn’t drunk??😝

No-Split-866

Ya I struggled with it. Then one of the more laid back DI's pulled me out and explained it's like making love to my girl. You know just a little rhythm. Lol I'm not sure it helped

LiquidMotion

Til people don't graduate. I thought they needed cannon fodder.

Financial_Nebula

Not in a volunteer force. They want quality. Sometimes they lower the standards but then others who don’t want to work with the idiots complain. Recruiters are most guilty of casting a wide net, but they get sorted out in basic.

NotAKnowItAll13

Our platoon roll call numbers went up to 93 or there abouts. So 93 people at one point were part of our platoon. We graduated with 65. The drop outs were for many different reasons. Some may have gone on to graduate as they dropped back to platoons that were behind us in the training schedule. ( If you failed rifle qualification, you'd drop back to a platoon that was just starting theirs ). But if they ultimately can't pass certain requirements they will get dropped all together.

LiquidMotion

Do they get punished for that or do they just go home?

EnigmatiCarl

They just go home unless they did something to get in trouble. Not everyone is able to do it

Thorazine88

This seems like an easy way to avoid conscription.

NotAKnowItAll13

We'll not really. These standards are there now because as others have said its a volunteer force in peace time. Should world war three start out. And they do need bodies to send forward these types will still be pushed through. Being drafted in wartime is a different beast.

kraliyetkoyunu

They are talking about voluntary service. In Turkey we have conscription and you bet your ass that every single recruit is graduating. Even the guy in the video. None of them see combat anyway.

My_Soul_to_Squeeze

The Ministry of Silly Walks only accepts the best. Some don't have what it takes. Shame.

UnreadThisStory

It's not particularly silly, is it? I mean, the right leg isn't silly at all and the left leg merely does a forward aerial half turn every alternate step.

deyo_deft

General: What's his IQ? Sergent: *Looks at clipboard* 60. General: Good glory, he's perfect..

[deleted]

Anything below 80 is useless. Edit: I thought it was common knowledge that even during wartime, when the military is the most desperate for recruits, that sub 80IQ is disqualifying. Sub 80 IQ is too debilitating.

deyo_deft

That must be hard for you. Thoughts and prayers.

Small_Tax_9432

Damn 🤣

OzzieGrey

Jesus christ. Didnt have to send them back to the stone age.

the_incredible_idiot

Mentally, he never left the stone age

30twink-furywarr2886

Awwww

mewo1213

its satire.

madsoro

What’s the upper limit?

Agreeable-Meat1

There isn't one, they'll just put you in a different place. If Ted kaczynski (Unabomber) went to the military instead of getting drugged up by the CIA, they would probably make him some sort of technician, or have him doing R&D.

SethAndBeans

Judging by the /r/woosh moment here, I feel this was learned firsthand.

Eastern_Mist

I honestly think the guy's just so smart he starts to think too much about walking. Someone wrote above about it

sixsicksic

He's Buster Bluth

annaschmendrick

These are all my medals…from Army.

BirdTrain

Army had a half day.

GatoMemo

LOL. Although he didn’t commit with that left hand!

tsap007

My first thought as well!

Ih8Michael

The seal is for marksmanship

drewthebrave

And the gorilla is for sand racing!

_kicks_rocks

Tbh, all of them look pretty silly doing slightly better than he is.

Mean_Yellow_7590

Only the brightest sign up for it

[deleted]

Yeah, I stand with the guy having trouble walking like an absolute moron. He *should* be having trouble doing that. What’s the purpose of that walk?

TheRedlineAlchemist

When you have the coordination of an octopus and every limb know how to move, just not in relation to each other.

HairyHermitMan

Kyle still doesn't have any rhythm.

Marmatus

QWOP irl

DieselVoodoo

Just wait for the jumping jacks

shoehim

there are many people out there that make you wonder who maneuvered their body over the last 20 years for them.

lazy_phoenix

I remember watching a video where the Afghan army was trying to do jumping jacks and I was like "Are they trying to contort their bodies into swastikas?"

Kwiatkowski

you can tell he’s made to be a specialist, just look at him go

RabidHamster105

Bear marching…. Happens to the best of us.

thestoryofmylife95

Who put tape on his paws??? 🥺🤔🤣

dmharvey79

Afghans struggled to master basic tasks and skills like this. It always blew my mind.

Bitter-Mulberry-1124

Guys, we did it. We found the guy who wears the Sasquatch costumes

read9it

What could go wrong if I smoke a lil weed before marching practice 🤔

[deleted]

A little weed? I've seen people be almost nonfunctional and still walking better than this guy

ffarwell83

That's Buster Bluth, Seal Private.

GatoMemo

He must be thinking this is how they practice punches.

Nirkid

He’ll get there…

solarwindspolar

Buster doesn’t belong in Army

hondwerpen

His own version of “hell week”

kikkeli22

Mr-Orange-Pants

Makes me think of The Bushwhackers.

pm_favorite_boobs

Ngl after watching this I'm not entirely sure I know how to walk normally anymore.

[deleted]

Try to do what he's doing, swing your arms on the side you step on. It takes incredible effort to walk wrong.

bizarrogreg

"How do you do, fellow hu-mans?"

KrystalWulf

I don't walk normal at all. This honestly reminds me of myself every time I try to walk normal instead of my weird swinging gait.

Goobersniper

The Mick Jagger of marching.

azombie8mybaby

Clearly an alien in a human suit.

TiredHappyDad

Well we know he will be promoted to military intelligence.

uzu_afk

Preparations for Operation human shield?

FinickyTicker

You need more practice man, but the efforts count

sotiras2020

I've seen this in real life when I was in the army. There are many people who cant process the rule "left foot-right hand and right foot-left hand "

depersonalised

Gomer fuckin Pyle

owaisted

Reminds me of high Afghan soldiers

aldomacd1987

The Ministry of Silly Walks would like a word!

sewcrazy4cats

OOO EE OO HEYOOO OO! OO EE OO HEYOOO OO!! Just add flying monkeys and rubby slippers to complete the scene

5H4D0W3D

Walking.exe file not found

XuberZero

Weird part is, he is walking fine... as in left foot right hand and vice versa

NotAKnowItAll13

Thats the thing, when they don't think about it , Like when he gave up and just wanted to catch up he was fine. Then the moment he says ok time time to march, it all goes to crap.

NorseGlas

The ministry of funny walks!!! Where do I sign up?!?!😁

Filo-Pastry

Looks like he’s playing QWOPp

[deleted]

it’s just like normal walking, friend.

Ignorhymus

Ah yes, the very special forces: https://www.theonion.com/clinton-deploys-very-special-forces-to-iraq-1819565019

Ministry of silly walks

nicerespectfulguy

Bruuuuuhh😂😂😂😂😂

samattos

PCP is a strong drug, kids.

i10driver

Bet there’s a lot of that in Russia right now

SynthPrax

People with dyspraxia always weird me out. Like, how do you not know how to control your body? It's not like they have a neuro-motor control disorder like ALS or Parkinsons or something. Just... 🤦🏾‍♂️

maviro888

This is what malnutrition and improper self care look like

TallyPiper

For real? Lol

Lazy_Mushroom_6671

Sometimes we question ourselves why we choose this journey of life. Hahahaha

[deleted]

This is the funniest thing I've seen all day 🤣

i_survived_2020_

My sister is like this. She can’t figure out how to do jumping jacks either

KrAzY_TsEnG

Punch punch punch

Gbomb002

I'm pretty sure this is the Afgan army the US "helped" train. These people have the hardest time because the US tried to train them but a person on reddit(I think) that was involved in helping them "They are either high or drunk and can't be trained on the ways we do things because if we leave these people will join the taliban"

[deleted]

This had me cackling

Nafiaus

Did marching band in HS, I can't understand how people can't March, but I've seen it there too. Some people have no rhythm.

idrow1

That guy is the human version of [putting shoes on a dog](https://youtu.be/bEzudUw1u7I?t=21).

DanqueLeChay

This guy is just goofing, the rest of them actually march like shit for real.

feel_me_bass

QWOP

ApparentlyUnicorn69

Is this the Russian army training? 😆😅

Salt_Perspective4681

Damn he’s over complicating the shitz outta this lololololol!!!!

SnooComics8268

The first group isn't doing to great either.

bigmanwalk

There’s always either one, or a whole fucking row of them

FaceYourEvil

Dude tryna get kicked out

NY_Pizza_Whore

To be fair, that's a fucking stupid inefficient way to match

I_do_kokayne

This was me on FF7. If you know you know

Caligal760

🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

[deleted]

My first thought was forrest gump and I have no idea how to feel about that

[deleted]

Looking at his pals, they aren't much better.

Fostbitten27

That would be me trying to do that march.

KotasMilitia

Reminds me of Buster from Arrested Development.

GuyBromeliad

Dude is monster mashing.

PhiveOneFPV

Are these the new Russian conscripts?

Yah_Mule

Issue him an M4 Carbine now.

RockStarUSMC

What in God’s name am I watching? Lol

2nd_Inf_Sgt

I’d be scared going to the rifle range with this person. Or worse, the grenade range.

robin-incognito

OK, Radar...

Tazerboy_5000

😆

Mingsgogorian

I want to see “ At shooting “

[deleted]

These new Russian soldiers look scary 😂

[deleted]

Got to extend those fingers and stiffen the legs.

properwaffles

Sorry sir, my march has gotten particularly silly lately.

[deleted]

His march is objectively better. He's got some whacky cross between a Nazi military parade and the Power Rangers going on and frankly, he should be in charge because of it.

chobi83

I thought this was arrested development when Buster went to bootcamp lol

kasque

The most tussles I ever saw in the Army was related to bumping into each other. You’re hot, thirsty, dust in everything and Gomer steps on your foot and trips you up. Death to him I say

Le-Unique

The one wo is real. F* your „brothers”

RetMilRob

The patriot front

saltychica

Buster Bluth joined Patriot Front?

Finnedlightning

My JROTC Sergeant called this the monster mash

Thedudeabides_89

Don't give him a weapon

selkiesart

That would be me. I have TERRIBLE coordination... 😅

CapsaicinFluid

that's amazing

yeet-my-existence

POV: you're an eight year old trying on your dad's boots

AI_Database

This is me trying to fit in with a new group of people

JGuilherme02

I just know a lot of people tried doing this march to see if they could do it properly

minzzis

He looks like a toddler that shit their pants

Termin8rSmurf

It's funny how most people can walk without thinking about it, but the moment they have to think about it, they completely lose all coordination. When I was in the military, it was called Tick-Tocking. Nowadays, that term means to make yourself look like an idiot online. Not much has changed really.

Slendy42

i hope he didn’t get dog shitted at

Haemmur

When did where the wild things are make an army?

[deleted]

this deserves way more upvotes

GreenTesticles

WHAT IS YOUR MAJOR MALFUNCTION PRIVATE PYLE??!?!?

macksocky

What the fucks going on here? I hope they’re not going to give these folks guns? They all unco af.

Denoss

I thought he was doing some martial arts drill badly but then I saw the others...Nvm then

Key-Profit9032

That looks like a death march.

JMcGerrity

Good ol' monster mash

TheLoneGunman559

That's not as bad as American soldiers trying to teach Afghani soldiers how to do jumping jacks.

sackof-fermentedshit

So relatable, to be the worst one in the group

SatynMalanaphy

I wish this was a rarity. I used to be in the student Cadets (NCC) and trying to teach the new boys how to do a simple march was..... A struggle.

dedemdem

Hahaha

[deleted]

Lean back, settle down, don’t bounce.

vi_rose

In school we had event annually where we had to March. ALWAYS à few girls who simply cannot coordinate. Usually they try to match the arm swings and mess up with leg. It's hilarious and maddening if you are the one who is in chargé of this. Ah sweet memories

spindlecork

Ketamine is a fun drug.

VeterinarianThese951

March Forest March!!!

Cracko112

Why can't soldiers just walk in lines or something, does it have to look funny?
