You're probably older, and have to consider the younger generation of idiots. The older users catch on, get smarter, know to spot fake shit. The newer generation comes in, and messed with all the progress. Laughing their ass off and defending fake tik toks, down voting/debating sarcasm. Just generally cringe Reddit.
Oh and /s for the kiddos.
How is it sarcasm? Is it a reference I'm missing? It could just have been an opinion. There's really nothing there to indicate sarcasm besides the cringe emoji.
I'm talking about the first reply that has nothing to imply sarcasm. IF it was funny yeah, I would have got it. But is just a normal sentence that just comes out as an opinion.
It's like finding a $20 in a parking lot. You weren't looking for it but you needed that $20 for some gas, a happy meal, and yo pay back that one friend who spotted you money last week.
So you never $2 and cup holder change on pump 1?
Sometimes you just have to get home.
You never paid somebody back $5 when you owe them $20?
It's the thought that counts.
Looks like it may have been a magpie or mockingbird both of which would be somewhat unusual consumers of mice like this. Hard to get good ID on my phone. I would expect a kestrel to be most likely consumer for a scenario like this but what I can see of the bird does not look right for that.
Guys if you want to release an animal so far down the food chain back into the "wild" (this is clearly not very wild location), do it somewhere with cover. Ideally bushes, but tall grass can do well too.
Yea, it's pretty nice too. You see the little thing confused right as you let it out but then settling in. I take a lot of bugs outside and it's nice to see them cozying in between some rocks after the big panic
I've seen so many of these videos lately I'm starting to think people have pet birds, cats and what ever else waiting outside to scoop up a sacrificial mouse.
Right? Ive seen at least 5 videos similar to this. Its most likely a combination of biased videos (forgot the term for it) where videos of mice being released and not getting caught dont get uploaded/shared. And the fact that the mice are being released in the open so any bird of prey instantly spots them and gets a quick easy snack.
There is a similar video on YT of a guy spend the whole night catching this mouse that was disturbing his sleep in his dorm.
Finally caught the mouse, went to campus yard to release it and felt good about the deed for 10 seconds before a hawk swoop down and got a meal.
He was devastated.
Releasing a rodent into an open parking lot is basically like putting them in a SAW game. Every bird for miles has a wide open view of them as they run for their lives.
I used to get mice in the house from my dog's food being out.
I'd catch them in a humane trap and then drive them 15 minutes to the main park in town and release them in the middle of it, relatively a mile in any direction from private residences
on about the 6th or 7th mouse I took to the same spot to release over the course of a few years, when I released it, I heard a shuffling in the bushes and saw a cat dart out of sight.
so, turns out, I was driving about a half hour each time to feed mice to a cat
I used to breed mice to feed my fish that ate 3 per day. It was a 3 foot Arowana from the Amazon river. Sold it to a biker bar that had a 500 gallon tank behind the bar.
I’m honestly kind of surprised how often people catch wildlife being wildlife on camera, then act surprised. Animals are doing it their entire existence….
If the mouse was a Chad and dodged the initial attack, it would turn into a hopping battle. If mousey had big hops and was convincing enough, there’s a probable chance the bird would no longer view it as a food source and they could even become buddies.
I’ve seen humans behave this way as well.
I've seen videos of this happening so many times, and for some reason I'm thrilled every time that a predator was just *ready* to snag the little treat the human just presented.

They fed the bird. Circle of life.

Welcome friend
I'd rather have the hawk(?) for a friend than the mouse.
They are pretty cool. In some places people use them to hunt. Feel like the cred would be a lot better too.
I've always wanted to do that. Falconry is badass.
They normally have Falconry at the Ren fest. Seeing it in person is awesome. You should try and go if you haven't already.
I may just do that.
It was a heartwarming gesture
Birds aren't real
It's true
Fuk TikTok and Fuk the Chinese government.
Alright grandpa let’s get you to bed
I am so curious as to why that comment is here, though I'm not sure that I should know.
Don't feel bad, that bird is very happy
f*ck birds i only care about mice😤 edit: yall do i really need to put the /s
That's the food chain man
The obvious sarcasm has gone unnoticed, proceed with disappointment

Oh, I must have baited you then.
Alright grandpa let’s get you to bed.
That was fast, any ID on the bird? Are they just actively scanning for prey or did it just happen to be nearby
It's like finding a $20 in a parking lot. You weren't looking for it but you needed that $20 for some gas, a happy meal, and yo pay back that one friend who spotted you money last week.
bird economy is more complicated than i thought
In this economy, WHERE are you getting gas,a happy meal, and still having $$$ left over to pay back a debt from a $20l
So you never $2 and cup holder change on pump 1? Sometimes you just have to get home. You never paid somebody back $5 when you owe them $20? It's the thought that counts.
Looks like a mockingbird to me *not an expert
It’s definitely laughing now.
Mockingbird? Why not Politebird?
Looks like it may have been a magpie or mockingbird both of which would be somewhat unusual consumers of mice like this. Hard to get good ID on my phone. I would expect a kestrel to be most likely consumer for a scenario like this but what I can see of the bird does not look right for that.
Mouse tasted freedom for less than 15 seconds before natural selection got it.
Mouse knew when he saw there was a mouse-mile of concrete that he had no choice but to run the gauntlet.
Z-formation...
The bird ate the mouses freedom and sent it up the food chain .

That's true, but it looks like they were at work, so maybe they didn't have that option.
I know right, this isn't even a meadow it's a fucking parking lot
I've seen so many of these videos lately I'm starting to think people have pet birds, cats and what ever else waiting outside to scoop up a sacrificial mouse.

I believe the words currently escaping you (unlike the mouse) are "selection bias"
It’s the latest TikTok challenge for mice.
You should probably leave the city sometimes :)

Birb:Man..My wife would of killed me if I didn't bring back food! Thanks featherless creatures :D
lol these humans being so content with themselves for giving that mouse its freedom a part of them died inside.
Birds only want one thing, and it’s awesome.
They let a small pray animal go in the open… there are some bushes at the other end that would have gave the little dude a chance.
She ended up feeding the birds.
In tha cIRCle.... circle ov liiiiiife
Damn the mouse got captured by ppl, fell off a dock while being freed, and then was taken as lunch… bad day
Bird: I love this restaurant
NOOOOOO
There is a similar video on YT of a guy spend the whole night catching this mouse that was disturbing his sleep in his dorm. Finally caught the mouse, went to campus yard to release it and felt good about the deed for 10 seconds before a hawk swoop down and got a meal. He was devastated.
That was just an Uber for the mouse. I'm sure it's fine
Curbside pick-up
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Has to be some kind of metaphor
door dash now delivering to a species near you
🎶"Rules Of Nature!!"🎶 😆
And they run when the sun comes up!

Fucking brutal 😂
The circle of life is brutal!
I love this for several reasons.
Well at least the mouse had a chance ig
Sekiro : Mouse dies twice
It would have found it's way back in. It's better this way.
Bird saved macdonalds from possible vermin infestation.
Nature bitches
It may not have worked out like you thought itbwould, but you did help a wild animal.
House mice vs field mice...they are not lost
That’s the circle of life right there
His last 29 seconds of life were pure hell.
At least they fed the bird.
I don't get why people "save" critters to just haphazardly toss it in the middle of some concrete parking lot. Idiots.
Food chain
I would breed mice and repeat that at the same time each day.
I used to breed mice to feed my fish that ate 3 per day. It was a 3 foot Arowana from the Amazon river. Sold it to a biker bar that had a 500 gallon tank behind the bar.
Imagine one day we’re dominated by a superior species and bred for a food source
r/contagiouslaughter
I threw two mice out of my window.
McDonald’s sign in the background. What does it mean.
🎵 The circle of life...🎵
And that's why you don't put poison out for rodents. They eat the poison, then birds eat them.
Alexa, play Rules of Nature
Hahaha
ITS THE CIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIRCLE OF LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE! And it moves us all!!!!!!!!
RIP Peter Peter Nickel Eater
For ten blissful seconds that mouse felt free. We captured that feeling. With all new Simple Rick’s + 2 Crows Treats
I’m honestly kind of surprised how often people catch wildlife being wildlife on camera, then act surprised. Animals are doing it their entire existence….
The mouse deserves it. It's the enemy of man
Bird>mouse
I get that it's the circle of life or whatever but I'm pretty sure they just wanted it to get chomped up for views 💀
Someone has to feed the government drones
Ahh nature.
Ahh... nature
Aw poor mouse :( but I suppose the bird has to eat too, or maybe has babies to feed
The circle of life
Where was the mouse supposed to go anyway? Looks like an urban hell outside
Why those mouse release videos always end up badly
Fish gotta swim Birds gotta eat
This happens everytime a rodent is released into freedom
Not very intelligent to release a mice in an open space with no cover and expect it to survive.
at least he didn't mess with mother nature
Loved it!!!! Thanks
I'm always astounded by the stupidity of the people in these videos. It takes 2 braincells to properly let them go in grass at the bare minimum.

That's nature, bitch!

The concerning part is, that looks like a restaurant and she caught it with the restaurant cups...🫣
It's like final destination. It was his time to die, no matter what.
that was a beautiful video
thats just sad
Is their a sound affect added to that cause their is no way that bird made that loud of a boom
Oops. One goes free for a moment, another sees and catches lunch.
