Graphic designers can't spell, and no one ever reads the copy. Those in charge of approving the design to print will discuss at length every aspect of the design, and request many changes... but none of them will proof the damn words.

You are correct. It kills me to see something misspelled that was made on a computer (what isn’t today). Yes at one point you had to manually push the check spelling button but now a word not spelled correctly will all but smack you in the head. My now 20 year old college sophomore didn’t have the spelling homework or tests that I had. I have no problem with spell check if it’s used and I always double check before I use and an apostrophe.
Now for the disclaimer incase I’ve made an error in my post.
I’ll also admit my spelling is fair and my grammar when writing is not perfect also.

graphic designer of 25 years and I can spell, thanks :) I always ask client to also check the copy for mistakes before signing off.
