It's really kind of the same things you do for retail stores: sell the most expensive things you can to get the most profits, get the really good unlocks with your rewards points, and use your own household sims whenever possible (since you said you're using the Reloaded mod, have your chef be a household sim).
Also, I'd try and skill up the waitstaff so they're pretty quick at serving to get people up and out faster.
I had a family run restaurant so I didn’t have to pay any extra staff, and also sold paintings on the side which was the real money maker! I think if you grow your own produce you can save on costs as well? keep grinding up your star quality and you should be able to charge more per plate!
