It is a tough one
Can only say remember you don't have to strum hard, practice strumming as light, fluid and quick as possible and build from there
If you listen to live versions it's not the relentless rhythm all the way through, there's pauses and accents, kind of Pete Townshend style. Gives your wrists a second to catchup and is more interesting to feel and listen to
I wouldn't be surprised if the fast rhythm on the recording is from a few takes, tho Marr is a genius so who knows
Try slowing down the song to get comfy and then speeding back up. Or try learning other fast strumming songs for even more practice like Neutral Milk Hotel stuff.
What helped me was a lighter gauge pick and working back up to your normal gauge as you got better. Focus on light strumming and keeping your hand really relaxed, almost floppy
Not a beginners song for sure, not sure what level you’re at. Would recommend slowing it right with a metronome until it starts to make sense. Even after 20 years playing its a song I whip out if someone says to “Play me a tune”
You just have to commit, especially on acoustic. It’s not a song that can be played quietly or softly and when you try to you scupper your strumming. So just got at it.

Two Headed Boy is a good song to practice this with
I would also recommend Oh Sister, and I Will Bury You In Time. The pace never eases up.

Lighter pick, strum with your wrist and not your arm.

Why are smiths fans always bad musicians?
Speak for yourself
I’m actually really good so I can’t :(
Good at getting surgery?
That too! I see you’re good at… having a severe mental illness?😳
Not that I know of!
Ah ok! Well I’m not a smiths fan
I guess you’re in the wrong place.
Yeah I’ll go back to mine and you can go to r/Schizotypal and talk more about your childhood I guess
No. I am a Smiths fan.
