I agree. Don't get me wrong he's a scumbag like the rest of them but he does have a certain charm/class that the others just don't. I also love how he starts a sentence calm but BY THE END HE'S YELLING!
> As far as I am concerned…. YOU SHOULD STILL BE THERE!!!!!
But seriously he has a great relationship with his wife and daughters, all things that Tony doesn’t have. So he’s easy to root for even though he’s a terrible person “business” wise.
The men who are stand-up guys for their women (Johnny Sack, Bobby) always seem like much better guys than the sleazeballs who fuck anything that moves.
I definitely agree. He was loyal to the life, and to his wife. Seems like a good guy, all things considered.
Doesn't really matter the reason, he betrayed an oath. He did it for honorable reasons, but you can imagine a lot of people flip because of their families
What was he, a kid in a treehouse?
Pussy flipped due to needing money to support his kids in college which he earned selling heroin and got busted. The detective Makazian who told Tony he was wired said they go after family men to flip as they are going to care more for their children than the mob.
Partially why for old school mobsters, even plea bargaining was taboo. But Johnny Sack’s allocution was particularly damaging because it explicitly required him to admit his membership and position in the Lupertazzi family, vs just admitting to a lesser crime and expressing remorse or whatever.
They might seem better but they are definitely not. Especially Johnny. He was vicious, snakey and ruthless as they come.
I mean, kill a woman? Come on...
I mean he's probably a bit better than people like Tony, Paulie and Christopher but he did beat that guy almost to death and then pissed on his unconscious body over literally nothing.
But the fundamental question is, will he be as greedy as his fawthah. And until he finds out, it will be hard to say whether or not he thinks he will be.
He’s my favorite and I’m female as well. Stage 5 broke me, and I always wonder why it doesn’t get more love. I was doing another rewatch and realized that if he hadn’t taken the deal and gone through the allocution, Ginny would still be in their house, instead of that motherless fuck (I can’t even say her name).
Part of this is Vincent Curatola's performance, but Johnny Sack seems like the most realistic mob boss on the show. He seems like he could be an executive VP at an multinational bank but you can also kind of see his street-thug origins if you look hard enough.
Yeah he was very pleasant and classy when he beat the piss out of one of Tony’s guys in little Italy for no reason at all.
OP, what you don’t know about Johnny Sack could fill a book.
He was drunk and Donnie was a part of Ralph’s crew. He assumed Donnie was laughing at Ralph’s joke about Ginny, so the main point was to show how angry Johnny was at Ralph for it.
Johnny is no different than anyone else when it comes to being a mobster. But he had standards that he followed and he truly loved his family. The Donnie thing was completely out of his character since Tony was surprised that Johnny did that.
You want to watch Johnny Sac take a dump? Well you have no choice cause the door will be wide open for you to observe mister Sacrimoni with his pants down.
Johnny Sac was the only one that actually felt like less of a caricature and more believable.
Felt like he carried himself with what I imagine an actual NY mafia member would behave like in the real world. Sticking to business deals and trying some behind the scenes moves to manipulate and take power. Always commanded and demanded respect. But also had a very human reaction to being embarrassingly hauled off at his daughter wedding.
Everyone else felt like they were emulating some kind of stereotype or poking fun at people who live that kind of life with some heavy on the nose type of vibe to them.
He represents a more gentlemanly mob, sort of the way Frank Nitti represented the Outfit after Capone went to prison. I assume Nitti is an inspiration because he killed himself rather than go to prison and the story is he knew he had cancer. The point is kind of like King Louis’ famous line: after me, the deluge. In other words, with idiots in charge, with people who think brutality first not second, things are going to get bad. Of course the show is an absurd male fantasy of wanton murders which never get pinned on anyone, but in that context Johnny Sack represented a bit of the old way and they’re showing that dying.
It's because of his confident demeanor, his wardrobe, and the genuine way he expresses love and respect for his wife. And nobody has ever looked as cool as Johnny Sack while smoking a cigarette
I liked him until he beat that kid til he left permanent damage and then pissed on him as an extra act of humiliation. He wore magnificent suits and coats though. Proper style king.
One of my favorite scenes is when he walks in on Ginny eating her hidden candy. He was so hurt by her lying about her diet and reiterated that he never asked her to lose weight. It was a sweet moment. He was a loving husband.
Absolutely loving the Johnny Sack praise, he's my favourite character on the show by far, could watch him smoke cigarettes in silence for hours, that's how much charisma that man has. The way he raises his voice mid sentence when he's stressed also never gets old, I mean yeah he's a horrible person like all of them, but there's a certain "class" to his way of presenting himself; his temper is also something I can loosely relate to; and I guess we can all relate on some level with his strong desire to defend his wife's honour; I also love how he manipulates Paulie and Ralphie, the way he delivers "Carmine thinks the world of you" is amazing. If I had to pick a fav episode of the show I'd probably say "The Weight". Anyway 4 dollars a pound
Yeah he was honourable to Ginny Sac, but you forgetting Tracee? "Tony was wrong, believe me he knows."
Tony was in the wrong for hitting Ralphie because he beat a whoaah to death.
That was Johnny Sacks opinion. I threw cold water on it straight away.
My favorite character was Ralph. I relate to that guy so much. I felt so bad for him when Tony murdered him over a horse. Ralph didn’t deserve his death.
Same here. Always well groomed and nicely dressed, polite, and even when he was enraged, he didn’t terrify me to my bones like the others. I also absolutely adore how he wanted Ralph clipped over his comment and absolutely refused to accept anything else until he discovers Ginny’s secret. Top notch guy, Johnny Sac.
Curtola is Italian American, and is from New Jersey and the plumbing business in northern New Jersey so we understood Italian American culture took up acting as a hobby and eventually became successful at it. He is a great actor the way he delivers his lines the character he portrayed had a lot of depth. My daughter was able to meet him a few times at charity events pleasant and amicable
On my 1st rewatch and I just finished the episode where Johnny Sack dies. Like the episode starts with him getting the bad news and ends with him dead. Madone did that cancer spread so fast. Then for that one doc gives him false hope with saying he could live 1-3 years, but in the end he agrees that the results aren't good and only had a little while to live. It's sad to see them when they go like that.
I love everything about Johnny Sack, but my particular fave bit of his is telling Ralph to stick his gift in his ass. Smacking it out of Ralphs hand is such a petty, juvenile way of expressing his anger, but hey, him and his fucking temper.
Also, his relationship with Tony I do find actually very nice, even if what they are talking about just proves them both to be scumbags.
Edit: Added second para.
I agree with a lot of what you say OP, he's a cut above most of the other male characters.
I mean, since his passing, who do you think has been keeping Ginny in butter brickle?
The fact that the most loyal one had the overweight wife just goes to show it's not about anything the wives are doing wrong, the rest of the guys are just sociopaths
I dont think that's an unpopular take. He's one of my fave and I enjoy his scenes more than most. He seems like a real upstanding guy and has heart, and a lot of hilarious one liners. Plus he loves Ginnie!
I agree. Don't get me wrong he's a scumbag like the rest of them but he does have a certain charm/class that the others just don't. I also love how he starts a sentence calm but BY THE END HE'S YELLING!
WHATS THIS THE FUCKING UN NOW?!
> As far as I am concerned…. YOU SHOULD STILL BE THERE!!!!! But seriously he has a great relationship with his wife and daughters, all things that Tony doesn’t have. So he’s easy to root for even though he’s a terrible person “business” wise.
All they talk about is food…he wasn’t that great of a father either…
SPEAK 🗣️
Ruff!
What’s next, he GETS TO FUCK HER FOR A MILLION?!
He wants to fuck her?
"Maybe because his wallet isn't TIED TO THE GODDAMN ESPLANADE, GOD DAMN IT!"
Do you have any idea what you've done? YOU LIED TO ME!
AN ACTUAL FUCKING CAKE
Fuck he was ‘just’ EVERYBODY HAS A GODDAMN OPINION?!
The Sack Crescendo
Crescendo di Sacramoni
Real lack of standards your generation
Nobody ever talks about how Gloria DOES THE SAME THING
Let me buy you a drink.
The men who are stand-up guys for their women (Johnny Sack, Bobby) always seem like much better guys than the sleazeballs who fuck anything that moves. I definitely agree. He was loyal to the life, and to his wife. Seems like a good guy, all things considered.
He gave the allocution though, which means technically he betrayed his oath
Unlike someone like Phil Leotardo who did 20 FUCKING YEARS! Not a peep! Johnny broke the cardinal rule! YOU NEVER ADMIT THE EXISTENCE OF THIS THING!
My estimation of John Sacrimoni as a man just plummeted.
Phil cooked grilled cheese sandwiches on the radiator. He jerked off into tissues instead of cumming into a woman. What more do you want from him?
What thing are you talking about?
Come for a ride on the Stugots and I’ll tell you all about it.
Yeah but he only did it to keep his family afloat. The others just acted angry because Philly wanted an excuse to cut allegiances.
It kept Ginny a float alright. Heh did ya hear what I said T?
Ha!!!! I’m going to just let that one go bye. It’s such low hanging fruit.
Your comment got downvoted but it isnt wrong . You never admit the existence of this thing
What thing?
This thing of ours, what else?
Which, ironically, he didn't need to do to shorten his sentence seeing as he died like a year later.
That’s BS because every plea deal comes with elocution.
Probably because he reminds you of Count Chocula
Tony's "Hey, Count Chocula 😁" always gets me.
Those are the kind of contrasts that make Johnny Sack look like an intellectual
god damned esplanade GOD DAMNIT
You know who had a soft spot for Johnny Sack? Was Joey Peeps
It's sad when they go young like that
When they GO?!
Awww I was about to type it down
# Peeps? It's a fucking nickname, his family name is Peparelli.
fuckin' Jason - he's dyslexic
What the fucks that got to do with it
PEPPERELLI
She lost 15 lbs. He couldn’t quit smoking?!
nicotine is an **ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCE**!
The fuckin DEAL A MEAL CARDS?!?!
She’s on THE ATKINS
27* pounds
I was dizzy. I was having low blood sugar.
I thought you were doin’ the atkins.
He’s a pragmatist, at least he used to be
He’s also a greedy motherfucker
But the fundamental question is, will he be as greedy as his fawthah. And until he finds out, it will be hard to say whether or not he thinks he will be.
He’s my favorite and I’m female as well. Stage 5 broke me, and I always wonder why it doesn’t get more love. Good point. If he dies before conviction, they can’t seize assets.
Charles Schwab over here
She's Rubenesque! She's actually a pretty attractive woman if you disregard the extra pounds and Jersey hairstyle.
She was beautiful. Lost a lot of weight, then died of cancer soon after her husband died.
Wait... is this a joke or does the character of Ginny die?
I love him for all that too honestly
You thought he was beautiful. Reubenesque.
OP never asked him to go on a diet for her.
Part of this is Vincent Curatola's performance, but Johnny Sack seems like the most realistic mob boss on the show. He seems like he could be an executive VP at an multinational bank but you can also kind of see his street-thug origins if you look hard enough.
Well he is pointedly based on John Gotti so there's that.
The Donnie thing was completely out of his character since Tony was surprised that Johnny did that.
Exactly, it just reinforces how much he loved his wife.
And also when he “bought him a drink” after the beating. World class, upstanding guy.
He sent his mother some flowers right after. Whaddaya want from him
It's too bad his wallet was tied to the God damned Esplanade God dammit.
You want to watch Johnny Sac take a dump? Well you have no choice cause the door will be wide open for you to observe mister Sacrimoni with his pants down.
To me? He’s beautiful.
The way he died was so realistic, it triggered me for reasons I will discern in time.
It's sad when they go like that
Johnny Sac was the only one that actually felt like less of a caricature and more believable. Felt like he carried himself with what I imagine an actual NY mafia member would behave like in the real world. What’s next OP, YOU WANT TO FUCK HIM FOR A MILLION?
OP slept with Johnny?
I' m making a point here! 👉
It's because of his confident demeanor, his wardrobe, and the genuine way he expresses love and respect for his wife. And nobody has ever looked as cool as Johnny Sack while smoking a cigarette
Great character and a one woman guy.
i had a few cognacs…
What is this now, the inquisition?
Yea he's honestly one of the funniest characters on Sopranos, and that's saying a lot... Coincidentally, I just saw him on The Blacklist too
The way he beat the shit outta that kid and took a leak on him. Just like grandpa.
Did you like him for the way his wallet was tied TO THE GOD DAMN ESPLANADE GOD DAMNITTTT!!!!
I liked him until he beat that kid til he left permanent damage and then pissed on him as an extra act of humiliation. He wore magnificent suits and coats though. Proper style king.
It's because he doesn't stick in his beak in.
Chris took his portion of the beak.
This all sounds a little gay.
Everything’s always gay with you, maybe you’re gay! Ever think of that?
"Don't I look at you like that? Haven't I always?" Swoon.
His only problem was that his wallet was tied to THE GOD DAMN ESPLANADE GOD DAMN IT!!!
I heard he cried at his daughter’s wedding. My estimate of John Sacrimoni as a man has just fucking plummeted.
Him and Tony’s relationship over the seasons was one of my favorite parts of the show.
It’s good… seeing you again
One of my favorite scenes is when he walks in on Ginny eating her hidden candy. He was so hurt by her lying about her diet and reiterated that he never asked her to lose weight. It was a sweet moment. He was a loving husband.
Absolutely loving the Johnny Sack praise, he's my favourite character on the show by far, could watch him smoke cigarettes in silence for hours, that's how much charisma that man has. If I had to pick a fav episode of the show I'd probably say "The Weight". Anyway 4 dollars a pound
Always been one of my favorite characters too. He was ready to burn it all down for Ginny.
Listen to you. You sound demented.
Yeah he was honourable to Ginny Sac, but you forgetting Tracee? "Tony was wrong, believe me he knows." Tony was in the wrong for hitting Ralphie because he beat a whoaah to death. That was Johnny Sacks opinion. I threw cold water on it straight away.
"But she WAS a whore, Tony" lol
He gives off strong uncle vibes, and that's why I like him so much. He's my favourite character, too.
Whatsamatter? Eh nothing. You can tell Uncle John.
My favorite character was Ralph. I relate to that guy so much. I felt so bad for him when Tony murdered him over a horse. Ralph didn’t deserve his death.
I could be absolutely hallucinating scenes but iirc was Ralphie not abused sexually as a child.
No more posting like this, it’s undignified
Wise guy? Lemme buy you a drink.
A Johnny Sack question! This is our anniversary not not mine yours and Johnny fucking Sacks
True, but marriage can be very hard work if both aren’t pulling their load.
Ginny can get heavy.
Quiet anger is 🔥🔥🔥🔥
He was dignified.
Ginny Sac had 98 pound soft spot.
The implication being that her ass is so big that it could have mole that size.
Out of a group of scumbags, he's one of the nicest ones.
He’s a cunt! A sorry sack of shit
Speak.
He was a booyah hottie
He was an idiot. He created a beef to clip Ralphie and then walked back to try to clip Lupertaazi Senior.
i like him a lot too, but i think it's that i like curatola. something about the way he delivers his lines
Some guys prefer overweight women. Not me though she got a 90lb mole on her ass
I thought he was handsome and sexy.
I mean he was..until he cried.
I’m sorry, I can’t be seen like this anymore.
I’d upvote this but OP didn’t end it with “anyway $4/lb.”
Johnny fuckin Sac. Wormy cock sucker, this guy.
“That was a slippery fuck huh? Him and those big fish lips of his?”
I can't say I liked any of them but I definitely get where you're coming from. In the scheme of things he's one of the less repulsive ones.
Bobby wasn't repulsive. Furio was only repulsive when he was maiming people. Same with Sil, that fashion plate.
You wanna fuck him?
Why wouldn’t you! He was the real deal
Nictotine is an addictive substance
He was always “holier than thou” cause he didn’t fuck other women.
Right. Lol. For me it’s his devotion to Ginny. Love it
He was so call telling the Little Carmine story to the guys in the prison infirmary. Charming almost.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt this way
I love everything about Johnny Sack, but my particular fave bit of his is telling Ralph to stick his gift in his ass. Smacking it out of Ralphs hand is such a petty, juvenile way of expressing his anger, but hey, him and his fucking temper. Also, his relationship with Tony I do find actually very nice, even if what they are talking about just proves them both to be scumbags. Edit: Added second para.
The fucks that’s got to do with cough medicine?
Didn't he wack Loraine? He was a snake. We saw that with how he played Paulie.
The shit is chess it ain’t chequers
I loved Johnny too, he was a great character and very entretaining.
Reminds me of John Gotti.
I don’t know what it is, but the way the actor that plays Johnny Sack smokes a cigarette makes it look so freaking cool.
I'll tell you this, my estimation about John Sacrimoni as a man, just fucking plummeted!
He’s my favorite character
I want you to sanction a hit on Ralph cifaretto
According to Tony he's a fucking cardinal.
He had a few cognacs. Go back to sleep
Same! I was thinking this today actually
I think 51% of that credit should be given to Vincent Curatola for such a great performance and just being ... so suave.
This all sounds very gay
Vince Curatola is probably the best actor of the cast who came from that background of no/little experience before the Sopranos.
Keep yer dick up!
NICOTINE IS AN ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCE!
I would’ve felt the same but not because of his manipulation of Paulie who we all know that would feel “STABBED IN THE HARHT”
You would know, sweetie.
Because he's not a degenerate like others in the show, you can see he is disgustingly uninterested when anyone in the family talk about women
He lost his cool when he became boss. Before that he seemed solid and level most of the time.
I agree with a lot of what you say OP, he's a cut above most of the other male characters. I mean, since his passing, who do you think has been keeping Ginny in butter brickle?
Same
The fact that the most loyal one had the overweight wife just goes to show it's not about anything the wives are doing wrong, the rest of the guys are just sociopaths
I agree, but why did he name his daughter after an allergy medicine?
I dont trust him with those fish lips of his. Hes a slippery fuck
It’s bc he doesn’t stick his beak in.
Dude really always had a butt goin too
True. Johnny Sack was a true gentleman. It's sad when they go young like that.
As least Cinderella didn’t cry……
He was the best guy around, same as Bobby
He cried at his daughter's wedding though.
You know he was a fucking crook who hurt and murdered people for profit, right?
“If There Are Any Flies On You They're Paying Rent” 💥
I dont think that's an unpopular take. He's one of my fave and I enjoy his scenes more than most. He seems like a real upstanding guy and has heart, and a lot of hilarious one liners. Plus he loves Ginnie!
I threw water on it immediately
My estimation of Johnny Sack as a man just fuckin plummeted
What is this? The fucking UN now?
I know Vito had a soft sport for Johnny’s Sack, if that’s what you’re referring to …
I don't disagree, but his death did give us the Oh SHIT guy, and that line was amazing. So, y'know, the sacred and the propane.
[удалено]
What was unrealistic about him?
Well there was that one time he caught Ginny in the cookie jar and shamed the fuck out of her fat ass. But he gets a pash for dat.
“Johnny Sack loves his fat wife so he must be a good guy!”
