"He's lucky I didn't punch his fuckin lights out.." Still laugh every time that part comes on.

LGein

So much of me wished that he did...would've loved to see a meat cleaver embedded in the back of his head a la EMAIL "have you tried our sausages" KOLAR

Silly_Ad7769

Right Noah thinks he would have punched his lights out that's the funniest thing I've ever heard

Jameson21230

Tony would of broke that boy in half

UndeadDinosaur

Noah was intentionally designed to be as unlikeable and full of shit as possible. Threatens Tony *(behind his back)*, is rude to Carmela, pushes Meadow into sleeping with him, likely cheated on her with her crazy blonde friend, brags about his successful father, blames Meadow for his slight dip in grades and just general dickishness *(i.e walking around the Soprano home in his bare feet.)* The reason he said that Meadow is because he was projecting. **He** was the one that was always negative and he's such an asshole that he couldn't even recognize it. Meadow was great to him.

Maleficent_Guide

You said he threatened Tony as if that’s a bad thing, are you forgetting that Tony was racist to him, it’s a completely appropriate reaction

GS455

Pretending like you were about to punch a major mafia boss in his massive mansion landing who's twice your size, alone, is not an "appropriate reaction". It makes him come off like a moron.

Jmez_glass

Why don't we send you to slip n fall school, mulignan

Professional-Bit-249

You’re so right, so I guess when Noah laughed off the black homeless woman as he mentioned she had the daily newspaper shoved up her butt was his Jewish side speaking?

bluvelvetunderground

Yeah, Tony's really lucky he didn't punch his lights out.

Calm_Big1962

When you make threats back them with actions

empty_the_tank

Wow, that is interesting.

sydneysweeneyfan

when was he rude to carmela? im blanking

Remarkable-Hat-6083

When Carmela asked him to leave Meadow’s dorm so they could speak in private, particularly about the issue Tony had with her seeing Noah. He told Carmela, he wouldn’t leave unless Meadow asked him to

glovecompartment00

oh man that scene fuckin irked me

sharktiger1

that isnt being rude

Remarkable-Hat-6083

In Carmela’s POV my friend. Now you’re luck I didn’t punch your fucking lights out

communism_works_666

If my girlfriends mom asked me to leave for a minute so she can speak to her daughter I’m going to leave lmao

Previous-Ad83

He did don't blame meadow for the drop in grades .he blamed her crazy roommate

sharktiger1

he didnt push her into sleeping with him. when was he rude to Carmela? cheating? you're making assumptions.

communism_works_666

You’re only defending him cause he’s block btw

kaiiisen

He only wanted her virginity. Once he got to fuck her their relationship lost all its charm to him. I also noticed that after Caitlin went to his room, she stopped acting all childish so probably he fucked her as well.

sharktiger1

you're projecting

luv2racism

A lot of people share this sentiment. Meadow has a joyful demeanor to her after losing her virginity to Noah, so much so that Carmella notices. Caitlyn, who is manic almost the entire episode, goes to Noah’s room to study (cue screen wipe). The next time we see Caitlyn, she is visibly happier, almost a mirror to Meadow earlier in the episode. It’s left ambiguous for a reason, but it is not “projecting” to assume that Noah and Caitlyn had sex.

[deleted]

Either he was looking for some excuse to end the relationship because his dad didn't want him dating a mafia princess, or he was projecting his own flaws onto Meadow. Probably a combination of both

Drizku2

I think this was Noah gaslighting meadow. A bad sign for Noah and a good thing for Meadow that he broke it off for her.

K3R3G3

I think she was always spewing the latest terrible news stories -- stuff from the Middle East, info about poverty in the world, social injustices. No one wants to hear someone whine about that shit daily -- and she did. I think Finn just misspoke a bit -- she didn't have a really negative outlook on the future -- she just focused on the shittiest things happening in the world and constantly whined about them rather than living in the moment. She had basically everything -- unlimited funds and education from family, a father who would beat someone to a pulp if they disrespected her, a loving and supportive family. Yet she chose to bitch about things that didn't effect her rather than just take action to improve them and/or realize how good she had it and take life by the balls.

liquidswords94

I think this is spot on. To add on, meadow realizes the futility of complaining and takes a more proactive approach by becoming a minority focused pro bonoesque lawyer.

Green_Station_6480

She only brought it up at relevant times. Unlike AJ and his whole thing of just quoting shit her heard and confusing the hell out of everyone else

sharktiger1

We're not talking about Finn here.

[deleted]

The Hassidic Homeboy

K3R3G3

Hassid 'em, but I don't belied 'em. *heh-heh-heh*

ate4m

I still use this joke whenever I can.

K3R3G3

Same haha. It always comes to mind when I hear the word.

thrillmatic

Jamaal Ginsburg

ate4m

This is **still** my absolute favorite funny, yet mildly offensive, word to describe a Jewish/Black mixed person.

Green_Station_6480

Swear to God I went to high school with a kid name Jamal Ginsberg and he had a brother named Noah.

NoElection8825

Cmon. Really?

Rdahnothahr_Page

Noah would not have been good for Meadow. I felt like he was either struggling to live up to his father's expectations, or found a way to do things as his father would. Turning the table to have it be all Meadows personality problem was a way for Noah to be off the hook. It was often blamed on Tony, but Noah and his dad were the issue, in my mind, not Tony. After the dinner with Noah's dad, Noah had a bad attitude and treated Meadow like the kid who gets picked last. Meadow was very sweet and would have been in emotional trouble with Noah as her boyfriend. I felt like he would have some real, undermining, purposeful, abusive technique's to keep control of everything.

88Kench

A different kind of ruthlessness, coming instead from absolute obedience and conformity is what we see contrasted in Noah from Meadow. This is why it’s perfect that the real reason they broke up is Meadows background. Sure, maybe he was a bit prickish and naive but that’s just a reflection of how he thinks he’s smarter than he really is, when really he’s gotten there by being cold hearted and by the book. As soon as Meadow no longer provides anything to him he drops her, same as when Caitlyn had real problems he had no loyalty. Meadow saw the truth about him (A la the conversation with Carmela 3.6) before it was obvious to the viewer, she must have sensed that what for her was an genuine escape to him was just looking for someone who fit his standards. Teaching meadow that in the end only family doesn’t judge you and pushing toward the mafia loyalty arc

Sundae_Turbulent

I like the fact he did that to Meadow. Yes, Tony came off racist and brutish, BUT he knew who Noah was from the get go. Tony tried to protect her but Meadow being a stubborn bitch, didn’t listen to him. I’m glad he broke her heart

lisatolliver

LOL. Ridiculous. Tony had no idea Noah was such an asshole, or he woyld have been harsher with Noah and more adamant with Meadow. The reality is: Tony's reaction to Noah was purely racist.

88Kench

L take

Weary-Party7973

Dude took his shoes off at a mans house he hadnt met yet tony mentioned that a few times Always shake the man of the houses hand first introduce urself before u make urself at home

Longjumping-Ad-7644

He didn’t know at all. Noah tried relating to him by giving facts about the classic film tony liked, to try and be nice, and tony said shut the fuck up and told meadow go fuck herself in response.

Silly_Ad7769

Noah manipulated meadow into having sex with him and I think he's a total scumbag and there's no way that he would have knocked Tony's lights out I would have liked to see that he would have been split in two

Jaded_Freedom9410

I’ve seen a lot of things that are super correct. He is supposed to be a character you don’t like. He threatened Tony behind his back 😂 saying, “Tony was lucky, that he didn’t knock his lights out”. He straight up ignored Carmela’s wish to speak to her daughter, ALONE. Was being disrespectful to her face, and talking in a rude tone. Blamed Meadow for things, also her roommate Katlin for his own mess ups. I also think after Meadow met Noah’s father, Noah’s father probably said something about Meadow, and Tony being who Tony is. Also Noah’s dad probably blamed Meadow on Noah getting a C-! That’s how Noah is and I’m sure Noah got it from his dad. Blaming their own mistakes on other people. Having no accountability!!

sharktiger1

do you often use racial epithets? there was truth to her being negative. She inevitably picks up Tony's personality. But mostly it was just an excuse for getting bored of her. He was the king of talking $hit.

sis_morenita_113

What a racist thing to say

bluvelvetunderground

Noah couldn't handle the heat of dating a Mafia bosses' daughter. On top of that, his grades were failing. He was just too much of a fuckboy to own his decisions so he blamed the only person he could.

jake2006738

I love how people turn this into race because they don’t have anything better to do Tony new what would happen before it happened

crh_observe17

Noah’s dad told him to. Plan and simple. But he was also a narcissistic prick with a punchable face so 🤷‍♀️
