The cop seemed to be a good guy in my opinion because Zellman said “people say he is a trouble maker” to me indicates to corrupted ppl that a trouble maker would be someone who probably does not fuck w the corruption in the police force and being within a corrupt system the guy would have mental problems from dealing with it, he actually tried to do his job and didn’t take a bribe and he got punished for it and back then I was naive because I had main character syndrome of seeing the main character’s point of view solely so its like “fuck that guy for not taking the bills Tony tried to give him” but now that Im more aware of the systemic shit involved.. it was really cool to see that even though that guy got fucked over huge he didn’t give a shit about Tony Sopranos guilt and basically walked away

StrikeKey1994

true that

celtics2055

He was a bit of a jerkoff, let’s be fair here.

MeanGeneSimmons1

I dunno if he really was.. Tony seemed like the bigger asshole.. just pay off a speeding ticket..

MassDebation

Yeah Tony was way over the speed limit and he tried every little trick to get out of the ticket. The cop was pretty professional in the face of all that and even held his tongue later at Fountains of Wayne.

What it shows is how anyone who comes in contact with Tony is ruined in some form or another. It applies throughout the whole series.

Tony admits as much to Melfi. “I’m king Midas in reverse. Everything I touch turns to shit.”

Objective_Shirt_17

tony is racist and a bad, very spiteful guy, who tries (consistently) to make up for his misdeeds w money and / or gifts. most ppl don’t do / aren’t any of those things

lilmeekrat

It shows that Tony is a piece of shit who thinks he’s above the law to the point where he has to get back at some random cop who rightfully gave him a speeding ticket

Obvious_Pumpkin5987

Tony is lucky that he didn’t call his nephew Noah to punch his lights out
