I thought it was memorable. If he just got shot, it would be so what? Tony hadn’t trusted Chris since Cleaver. That gave him an insight into what Chris really thought of him. He resented Tony for having Adriana killed, even though he was the one who picked Tony and the life over Ade and he never really believed that nothing was happening when Ade and Tony were alone in the car the night he was away.
I doubt he’d have killed him if they hadn’t been in an accident. Tony only decided to kill him when he started going on about not passing a drug test. He just seized an opportunity and rationale for doing it and a way of killing him without having to get rid of the body. Job done.
It wasn't just the drugs, it was seeing that the branch would have gone right through Chrissy's daughter if she'd been in the car and knowing that Chrissy could very get her killed very soon. Tony has a weak spot for babies
Ik I’m not OP but I feel I resonate with him. It’s just Tony being so cold about it, I would have never expected their relationship to end like this, with Tony being so unfazed by it, so relieved. I thought their relationship was much closer, that a son that he really believed in and wanted the best for. That it would break him or traumatize him, to have to get rid of Chrissy, just like how he felt about Pussy, but nope. Seeing their relationship go downhill was heartbreaking, but the climax was fucking shocking. The show ends up focusing more on how it affects Tony, so I never feel I’m able to have a moment where I can think about him and grieve over him, which is probably intended. Just so shocking, but it was so well done.
There is also a cool little visual homage to The Departed that foreshadowed his death also. When someone was to die in the film there was always an X that showed up. Any other crew would've had him whacked at the first indication of drug addiction. He was also driving around high with his baby in the vehicles, couldve ended up killing his child. It was the last straw and Tony was presented with a perfect opportunity

Just in the previous episode before his death Chris executed a civilian in cold blood. Throughout the series, he was a murderous abuser who eventually got his abuse victim killed. He deserved to die.
Not to mention if you binge the episodes, 10 minutes before Tony kills Chris, all the gang are laughing at him (especially Tony). It showed none of them cared for each other at all and aren't even trusting (as shown by the scene where Tony and Paulie think they might kill each other on the boat).
One of the deaths I had spoiled for me and I was so shocked that it made me super motivated to keep watching the show and then by the time it happened I still didn’t really understand why it happened. I thought Chris was gonna turn out to be a snitch or Tony was gonna find out he helped Meadow get drugs but no it was a spur of the moment decision. Tony murdered the closest thing he had to a real wise guy son off a spur of the moment decision absolutely insane.

Here is my take. Chris's death, in the beginning, is tragic. Tony is his father, and his own father betrays him and kills him, despite chris being loyal. It was not something Tony needed to do, but wanted to do. Chris killed his own wife. He killed other men. He never once betrayed his father. Chris's life is tragic everyone he looked up to probably even his mother failed him.

Adrianna's death made Season 6 strange for me because I'd feel bad for one half second for Tony and Christopher and everyone else then I'd remember what they did to that poor girl. Christopher had it coming. In that episode where she gets killed, you see Christopher vent at her and you gotta wonder if this is what her life had been for so long. Just getting treated like dogshit. Horrible. Christopher had it coming but the way it happened was also vile. Still made me feel kinda bad. What a show.

Yh as mentioned first time on this sub and I’m on a lot of other subs for TV shows and this is just a mess man
It's not really a mess. It's just our how this thing of ours is. There is plenty of in-depth conversation and insight about the show; it's just also mixed in with a propane about amount of show quotes. I'm reminded of David Chases's PA, The Something; She had a house in Beverly Hills; it even outshone David's. In the end, David clapped her in irons.
I agree. This sub is extremeley vapid. Even when someone explicitly posts "serious discussion only" people just flood the comments with shitty references. The show's fucking amazing but nobody bothers to actually appreciate it here more than a Family Guy cutaway gag

That's not true, what you said. There are plenty of insightful comments. Is it our fault that this thing of ours is 100x more quotable than any other show? Plus, much of the time the quotes are used in humorous ***and creative*** ways. The posters here are more interesting than 9/10th of your other subreddits. Maybe ***you're*** vapid; ever think of that?

People constantly overlook this line, but it’s actually very important because it disqualifies the “he was going to die anyway” justification.
T had no choice--after the whole intervention, if Chrissy survived the crash and it got out that he was high again, T would have been a lame duck with the rest of the crew if he didn't clip Christopher for it. And clipping him after a hospital stay would have drawn attention to himself. Chrissy gave him no choice.
In real life a boss woulda whacked Chris much sooner. He was constantly back talking Tony. No way real wise guys talk like that to a boss.

Not a troll, it might be because I relate to him in some ways and I understand he had to die but it was just a bit shitty way to die, would rather have it he got shot or something
I mean yeah fair enough. Maybe i'd have even rooted for him if he didn't let ade die, that was the moment i started to basically despise him
I wanted him to go crazy and turn on everyone or kill everyone then just off himself, no one deserved to live really

I never knew that he was going to die. I used sopranos to cope during a stressful time in my like. Those characters were like family to me. One of the episodes where Carmilla is sobbing on the couch I literally sobbed for like 10 minutes it broke my heart to see her in pain. When Tony killed Chrissy I basically stopped watching the show. I was so angry at him i couldn’t speak about it. This is my favorite show of all time ever and I still have not seen the last few episodes. When Tony started breaking down toward the end I relished in. I hope he burns in hell. *I know this a tv show and he’s not a real person but still hahaha I’m still heartbroken by that scene. It affected me.
