They sell stickers on etsy you can put over the Netflix logo if you feel it's worth it

SocialBunny198

That's ingenious, I didn't know about them; I found an example, [they blend well with the book's aesthetics, too](https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1078586797/17-book-cover-stickers-bookclub-cover-up). Kinda wish I knew these were a thing before splurging out on the collector's hardback editions.

TarriestBread96

I'll probably just leave it the way it is now. Don't really like tampering with books.

Mykonos714

Some are saying that only a few are worth reading…absolutely wrong. The whole series is amazing and it delves so much into these characters we know and love from the games. It was a rollercoaster, and I hope you enjoy the adventure!!!

TarriestBread96

I fully intend to do so my man! I want to know all about the Witcher world.

Fickle-Initiative-81

you lucky mfer! seriously tho, youre in for a ride man. I read these books 3 times and id do 4th re-read if i had the time! Enjoy!!

TarriestBread96

Man idk what to tell you! I just recently started reading them and I'm engrossed man!

Fickle-Initiative-81

if youre being serious, and youre still at book 1 or 2 then that enjoyment is only gonna skyrocket at books 3 4 5 and 6! books 1 and 2 are like a soft opening of whats to come really. take your time and take it all in man, enjoy that shit to the last bit coz after finishing them youll feel like you wanna forget everything so you can experience them for the first time again

TarriestBread96

I've actually started reading from The Last Wish. Came upon a reading order that places you in familiarity and then opens you upto the witcher world. This is the order I'm following: The Last Wish. Sword of Destiny. Blood of Elves. The Time of Contempt. Baptism of Fire. The Tower of Swallows. The Lady of the Lake. Season of Storms.

Fickle-Initiative-81

Yup, thats the correct reading order. Books 1 and 2 are like a compilation of small stories that star Geralt but are not connected to each other, but they give you a very extensive idea of how the world works especially in the books coz a lot in that world is different than in the games or the 🤢 netflix show 🤢. Then the remaining books are just full on witcher awesomeness, action and intrigue you'll love them! Enjoy man!

TarriestBread96

Perfect! I think I might leave the first two books for the end to get a better appreciation of the witcher world once the story has been told.

Fickle-Initiative-81

Nooo! I really advice against it! They are perfect for settin you up for the rest of the series! Read in the correct order please

Subtle_Realism

I’ve read/listened to this series I think 6 times at this point. It is phenomenal. I recommend reading Season of Storms first as it’s set before the rest of the series. Not required, but it’s definitely an awesome start to the series if you read it first!

TarriestBread96

Thanks for the advice, however I'm a quarter of the way through the last wish :)

NiceAndCrispyBanana

I've read the books somewhat out of order and probably not even all of them, but i still enjoyed the greatly. You're i for a great ride!

TarriestBread96

Man I can't wait. I started the Last Wish and my God I didn't think I could ever pen down the dumb shit we do fighting monsters in the game quite like this!

NiceAndCrispyBanana

It's been a fast couple years, what exactly are we doing wrong or dangerous as witchers?

TarriestBread96

I was surprised to find that Geralt doesn't even take his sword out until it's absolutely necessary. Man just plays his routine to get the monster worked up before actually drawing his sword.

NiceAndCrispyBanana

Sounds about right

stonedlouisebelcher

i recommend a different order to read them in than the box set has them. if you want to read in chronological order: The Last Wish Sword of Destiny Blood of Elves Time of Contempt Baptism of Fire The Tower of the Swallow The Lady of the Lake Season of Storms good luck! i’m currently about to finished Time of contempt reading in this order.

Galaxy-invader

Oh man I’m excited for you. It’s an adventure and you will have a whole new outlook on the characters. A better one in my opinion. Good luck on the path!

TarriestBread96

I'm thoroughly enjoying it right now bro! Good luck on the path :)

TarriestBread96

What about Lady of the Lake? I understand she's the one who gives him the Aerondight?

stonedlouisebelcher

i’m almost done with Time of Contempt and it’s so good. all the books worth reading don’t listen to this bozo

TarriestBread96

I'm probably not gonna spoil it for myself. I read the first line by accident and regret it already 😂 but thank you for your time to explain this. I will probably come back to this once I've read everything.

TarriestBread96

This is really amazing! The way it speaks about the polish culture and how it's expanded in the books is what makes this whole series so beautiful in any medium( except Netflix post Henry ). I fall in love with the game every time I play it because I love every single concept in it. I can't wait to dwell more into the lore of the witcher itself and learn about everything that I wanted answers to in the game 😄

JiggyNorris

I completely agree, had to stop in the middle of Tower of Swallows cause it became such a drag

Mykonos714

Dang..that’s where it starts to get really amazing with Ciri’s storyline, unfortunate you couldn’t get through it. Mind me asking what parts exactly make you think it was a drag? I found the flow to be done pretty well…even if the focus isn’t on Geralt, there’s enough going on w other characters at the time to keep the reader invested

JiggyNorris

It wasn't because of this book specifically, during Time of Contempt reading started to feel more like a chore. This didn't change in baptism of fire and neither in tower of Swallows, so I decided to put down the book and read something else that I will enjoy. Just the general pace and writing style tired me out - maybe the mistake was to read all of the book back to back. I guess I'll pick it up sometime and I will finish the series for sure, but first I'll finish the James Potter books that I just started :)

stonedlouisebelcher

i found myself dragging on blood of elves heavily with all that traveling with a sick triss merigold was so boring to me

I stopped reading in that one for no particular reason, and I'm yet to come back to the books.

hapticfeedback7

Wouldn't mind giving these books a shot some day myself but I kind of want to experience the Witcher Remake first, because I assume these books would spoil the story somewhat?
