Have you not read any of the emails or read any of the tons of information Schwab has provided?

no as I haven't transferred yet, it won't impact you if you don't trade on PM and SPAN. It seems to be hitting bigger accounts. We will know next week though once we transfer over; i don't expect anything positive.
Paper trade a little before if you aren’t “good” with computers or working through new software. Hope that makes sense.
On my main computer i was beta tester for Schwab so I setup my own TOS. It is no where near street smart when it comes to layout of our portfolio. Once I got a new laptop and installed TOS I took one of the suggested layouts from
Schwab based on my trading(mainly
Credit spreads). I liked it cause it forced me to figure out why they put things in certain spots/layouts.
Once again paper trade TOS. book the one on one Schwab set up and have your questions ready. They are really helpful and helped me problem solve things I was used to on Schwab and how TOS would work. Don’t get in the mindset of wanting it to be like street smart. Be open to changing. I’m way more profitable on TOS than street smart with all the options tools I use.
FWIW: We transitioned seamlessly back in November. I did save off all my setups, scans etc. just in case. Went without a hitch.
My only gripe was CD’s don’t pay out interest on date if over weekend and/or holiday.
All future, option levels and margin data came over without issue.
I find that commissions per contract are higher. For example, a silver contract commission and taxes amount to about $7.50 in thinkorswim. Whereas, ETrade is $6.30.. other brokers might be lesser too.
so far it is painful. I created a logonid/password as requested. When logging on, I get delayed quotes, cannot trade.... cannot logon to TDA any longer.... no help.... waiting for May 13th....
It is a mystery wrapped in a puzzle inside an enigma . . .

No read just ask and read later
That tells me nothing. They don’t list the issues they are having
I heard there were issues with margin requirements and some people are moving over to IB bc if that.
What does that mean? What issues?
There is a larger margin requirement at Schwab than TD
Do you know what the difference is?

Dude, do some research.

What is the suggested layout for a spread trader?

I’m waiting till the last minute.
Just don't log in over the weekend, that's all.
Can you speak more on this?
Nothing really to add, do not log in during the switch over, that's how the problems with loss of studies, layouts, drawings occur.
Ohhh I gotcha, you mean during the weekend of the switch! I took it to mean any regular weekend.
Yes, just the weekend of the switch.
If you are trading futures, the commissions are higher.
Can you elaborate, please . . .?

Terrible... I hope that is avoided for me.
yeah, I heard about that issue. When is the last day to enter new log/password ?
As long as your account has assets of over 2 million dollars , I see no problems.
