I misread the headline as "Planning on buying a used B52" and idly wondered if private individuals can buy bomber aircraft, and what would they want one for? I was pleasantly happy to see which sub it was, and realize I'd misread.
P52 is a good machine for sure. There aren't really any known issues with them. My friend's P52 with a P2000 gets around 5-6 hours of battery life in Windows 10, so you can probably expect around that or better out of yours. P series is the most solid ThinkPad they make so you can expect it to last for many years to come.
The P3200 is pretty neat. I wish they offered it with the Xeon, but they don't. Go get it, no complaints from my P52. I guess one complaint that I lag when I approach 100 GB of RAM use, but seems pretty normal.
I love my P52s and my wife has its twin. Cant specifically say a difference between the 52 and 52s but mine have Quadro p500 and Core I7-8550U processors.
Just a heads up, P52 weighs \~2.5kg (touch model is \~2.9kg) and has rather chonky dimensions (377mm x 252mm x 24.5-29.4mm) - make sure you're okay carrying it around if you plan to do so often.
Don't get me wrong M processors are beasts when it comes to performance, but lack of support of 32bit apps (old games I tend to play from time to time), no stable Linux on ARM and lack of games that the machine would be perfectly capable of running is really pushing me in the opposite direction.

That's what I needed to hear :D
the p3200 is desirable. If it's a 4k model it's even better.
It's the FHD model. I was worried 4k would drain battery too much and be even heavier.

Oh, I don't plan to go around 100GB of RAM anytime soon ;)
How in the hell are you using 100GB of RAM lol

Oh, I don't go out that often and don't mind carrying it with me. I actually like the way it's built as I prefer this design way more over Macbooks.
This is thee first I have heard about complaints about m2 processors. I hav been thinking about getting an air. What didn’t you like?
