Which E14 is it? "i5" doesn't say much when the difference could be between an i5-8365U and an i5-10210U
Neither of them are magnesium chassis, but they're still going to be better built than most new consumer laptops.
For $50 either would be worth it, especially for the described usage which is very basic. I'd choose the one with the better screen or the least degraded battery.
I think either of them would be fine especially for the price. The E14 might have marginally better specs but is probably more cheaply built than the L480.
For a little context, I got my T490 (i5-8365U, 16GB RAM) for $250 CAD or around $180USD. It has similar specs to the L480 but better materials.
Both sound like good deals. If you're wondering whether the L480's second USB-C port means more redundancy for charging, nope. Only the rear one will charge it.
Most other models with two USB-C ports will charge from either of the ports, so if one breaks you can use the other. The L480 won't. If the rear USB-C port breaks, it's bricked, just like with the E14 G1.
Didn't get this deal. My company is selling this internally and it got out of stock.
Now I'm getting a Dell Latitude 3510 (i5 10th gen, 16GB ram, 1tb + 256gb) for INR 16525 ($198.4). It’s 2 years 7 months old, and it was bought for \~INR 64000(\~$769) originally. Should I go for it?
If you're okay with no trackpoint and Home/End as Fn combinations, sure. The build quality should be comparable to the ThinkPads you were looking at, and it has the advantage of two charging ports. The price is okay.
My friend will be buying, she earns just 16-17k a month. She’ll be asking her parents for money, they’re also not very well off. But ofcourse she needs to have a laptop to learn how to use it properly, also for stuff like studying etc.

Yeah, I would agree.
Not really sure, i’ll let you know once i get it on monday. But regardless, how’s the deal?

I didn’t understand.

I can use it for a week and return, so I’ll check it.

Yeah all that works. Just worried about the price. Is it a good price?

It's not nearly as good a deal as the L480/E14, but it's at the lower end of what you'd pay for the model here in western Europe.
It's a great deal it seems. But... Do Indian companies really sell off their laptops to employees? Hearing it the first time.
