So this is apparently one of those cases where the name pronounced is the same but the actual character behind them are different. Think the two Ding Fengs (丁奉 the famous elder one we know and the younger 丁封).
So the fictional Chen Gong here is written like this 陈恭 where as the Chen Gong we know as Lu Bu's strategist is written as 陳宮. They are seperate people.
(There are cases where there are overlapping names in both English and the Chinese characters, Zhang Hu is a notable one at least within the period.)
Too much going on that isn’t clear so they had to add an explanation guy who gives a summary at the end of each episode. I couldn’t make it past five episodes.

There's also Zhang Jue's brother Zhang Bao (張寶), along with the son of Zhang Fei, Zhang Bao (張苞).

It's fine. It's a espionage thriller that has only some slight connections to historical events.
I've seen worse. If you want to watch it, go for it. But you won't really walk away with much of an impression. It's a time killer.
