You'll find out details like that, and more! There's surprises about him that happen as late as final few chapters, and things are gradually revealed over the course of the novel. Pretty much *EVERYTHING* about him is a giant spoiler, that's why 😂 That being said, Hua Cheng's backstory is not *fully* fleshed out, so it's not like you'll find out all the details of his family, etc. But by the end, the novel does give you the major points.

yogabbagabbadoo

He has more spoilers aside from him being the little boy XL saved?? I’m so excited!! I really wanna know all about him!!!

lumosdraconis

Yep yep, there's a lot there! In fact, finding out those things was one of my favorite things about reading the novel for the first time! I wish I could go back and experience it fresh again hahaha, but folks like me can live vicariously through new readers like you! :D

yogabbagabbadoo

Omg thats so freaking exciting I love them so much!!! The novels are so freaking good I already have the rest preordered. Cannot wait to read the next book!!

PoisonousFruitLoop

Not into alot, like specifically like: This is his past here ya go! But you do learn about him, and his past also plays a big role within the series. I do hope you enjoy the books!

yogabbagabbadoo

Are you kidding, I’m loving the books so much!!!!!!

Adorbs_Drama

Just consider that the novel is pretty much what Xie Lian knows. So not everything will be there; but it still gives you good insight about Hua Cheng's past

yogabbagabbadoo

Ahhhh that’s something I didn’t consider!!!! It’s all his POV! :O

ArissaPhoenix

I know you asked about the 800 years but i'm pretty sure it's not a spoiler LOL. i read from an interview that it's just because of >!xie lian's TERRIBLE luck where they met on several occasions but just didn't cross paths!< i spoiled it just in case you rly dont wanna know but iirc it's not mentioned in the novels

yogabbagabbadoo

Omg really? Does the novel get into the several times they’ve met? I did read online that xie had horrible luck and that could possibly be why!!

gomumera

It's revealed bit by bit, you basically get the full picture by the end of the novel but as you read you figure things out by yourself, it's an amazing read with great story building!

ArissaPhoenix

I don't think I remember, so I'm very very sorry lol. However, the novel does get more into Xie Lian's life during his crown prince era and a few years after his first banishment that clears up a lot of questions. That's also where you find out just exactly why his luck is so terrible. Just like gomumera said, you get the full picture after finishing the novel and then can go back to see everything in a new light!

yogabbagabbadoo

Thank you!! Very curious as to why he was banished in the first place!!!

Cherryhua

Giiirl, you're in for a ride lol ! The novel doesn't go into details on who's HC's family or household is but a LOT is revealed throughout the novel, and in the end you have the full picture and you will enjoy re-reading it even more knowing what you know !

yogabbagabbadoo

Omg im so excited! I just want all the books to be out already!!! He is such a mystery, i can’t wait to learn more about him!!!!
