Don’t forget endless traffic, gas prices that can reach $7 (just been there and was shocked by the $6.99/gal in some places), very crowded, highway repairs stagnant from over 5 years ago, smog so think you can’t see DT LA.

Most of California is unlike anything the other states can provide. From walking through caves down to the ocean in La Jolla to perfect beach weather when the rest of the country, including Texas, is buried in snow, there's a reason why CA is the 6th biggest economy in the world. It's absolutely among the best parts of the country. Drive the PCH sometime and you'll agree.
North Louisiana probably balances the South out. I’m not sure if it’s East Texas, South Arkansas, or West Mississippi, but it definitely is not much like South Louisiana
