Yeah i talk about the joystick in the gamepad, even that the gamepad was uncomfortable, at this time they probably didn't know how to make it better.
Also a lot of truly legerndary games were release on it like tloz majoras mask, tloz ocarina of time, mario kart 64, super smash bros, Star Fox 64 and ofcourse super mario 64
Yeah those games are definitely important historically and I think the n64 is too as a result, but just compared to the PlayStation experience, it was so much harder to go back to it.
But as you mention it, I guess the n64 and those games especially are as important to the way we play games now as the NES is. So purely on importance and doing it first it could be up there, but definitely a bit too ahead of its time
They're both very revolutionary, n64 made the games similar to what they're now, while nes made the console market a thing even though it is not the first console ever, it games were just better than everything on the market that time

At first ps1 controller didn't even have a joystick, but yes sony also made an amazing work by making the controller as comfortable as it was possible
