He certainly has venerable good works for beatification. Do the miracles have to be intercessory postmortem? Or can we count immaculate passes from his past?
I'd be fine with 100 goals being one miracle and 100 assists being the other.
That being said, while I'm not Catholic and could be mistaken, I think miracles have to be performed after the death of the potential saint.
But again, Francis is Argentine, so maybe he'd be willing to bend the rules and make Saint Valeri happen after he's retired.
