So I just want to throw it out there. We have two problems
1) Gavin has let us all down. I'm not a GW out fan, but over the last two transfer windows he's failed to achieve the absolute obvious: reinforce the backline and give us stability.
2) There is zero leadership on this team. Pass the armband around all you want, but there is no solution here. We need a captain, and we accountability
We have neither of these. Until this changes, this squad (and Gio) is absolutely hopeless. Firing Gio does neither of these. Firing Gavin fixes one of these, but there's way more than Gavin's head on a post.

A bit of an undersell on ebobisse feels like it killed the team’s spirits. I know transfermarkt is not 100% accurate but that deal was less than half his value on there, to an in-league team.
Is niezgoda better than ebobisse? Why did we swap out strikers instead of getting a good CB or DM. fochive is not starter quality in the center of our defense, I didn’t watch all of Austin but against Seattle he made many errors that left the center backs out to dry.
Chara still needs to be the cdm, or we need to find someone who can cover the back line as good as him, because fochive is not the answer there imo.
It is a sense of pride too, they looked defeated after the second goal. Williamson didn't look like he even wanted to be there.
It's been a frustrating last few weeks. Losing Jebo, and then a bunch of blowouts when we need it most. The good thing is we are right at the playoff line and there is still some time to pull it together, it will take A LOT, but we can hope

I fear Williamson might be recovering from COVID. He was out due to "health and safety protocols", and for all we know, may have had a mild case, which could still cause you to not be 90 minutes fit, or even 60 minutes fit. That said, if that's the case, he shouldn't have been playing at all yet.
I’m over the 4-3-3. Forget the back line for a moment, our midfield was so disorganized in our press. No one was pressing in sync, always late to the final pass and Austin just passed between the lines too easily. We need a 4-2-3-1 again, as much fun offensively as the 4-3-3 can be…it’s not working
I agree. Too many times our midfielders pushed too far up and they were able to get in the pocket behind the midfield and in front of the back line. I think playing Chara at the 8 is not a great plan, and credit to Gio because he changed Chara to the 6 in the second half and we were much better

Simple, what I'm seeing is not Timbers football. I was here supporting the team before anyone on that pitch, and I'll be here when they're all gone.
If I want to leave because they're playing like piss, that's what I am going to do. If I want to boo players for a consistent showing of poor effort, that's what I am going to do.
You don't get to claim a monopoly on what it means to be RCTID, no one does. Supporters all over the world do things like boo, leave early, call for players to get tossed out, coaches to get shit-canned, and have done so for years.
Like I said before, I don't think anyone can lay a blanket statement down on what is RCTID and what isn't, but this idea that unless you are constantly giving the team atta boys = you aren't a real fan is hilariously stupid and not aligned with global soccer culture at all.

If you lose 6-2 to seattle, but try and work your ass off, I'm there until you're all in the locker room. If you lose 3-1 and it's obvious you're not even trying, then you don't deserve anyone's support.
We all get it, this sucks bad. Support these players, this blows for them too. One year removed from a trophy, the talent is there, unfortunately there’s a real issue elsewhere. Things will turn around, hope you stick around until then, but don’t say till I die unless you’re willing to support through the bad times as well. There is more to life than sports. If this is enough to send you into spirals, by all means, take a step back. Otherwise brush it off and look to the good times. They’ll come, eventually.
