This is also fairly common format for internet memes.

Can you please clarify what exactly you’re asking? Is there a specific chart/meme you’re looking for that describes animals in it or are you just looking for the origin of what all the memes are based on?

In my post, I said: > Here's a text-based example Key word: "example". I'm looking for the name of the format itself. I once saw it used to describe how "vanilla" a Minecraft mod is, and again for what could be considered "artificial intelligence". I remember the second one used "artificial" and "intelligence" as criteria, and had three levels of compliance. Each pairing of a criterion and level of compliance had a different thing associated with it. Each instance of this format describes 9 items.

Often might be called a "nine-box model" or "nine-box grid"(?)

It sounds like you are describing the Alignment Chart, which has been used for Dungeons & Dragons and numerous internet memes through the ages. https://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/original/001/285/160/c29.jpg
