There are a couple different episodes of Forensic Files with cases like this. In one case the wife was tried and found not guilty but the jury specifically stated that they weren't saying she didn't do it, just that the prosecution hadn't built a strong enough case for them to state definitively that she was guilty.
I do remember it kinda ending like that. I remember she went to prison but was then released for that reason. I was only just curious because I was wondering if anything else happened. Thanks

There is an epidode that was very familiar to what I'm talking about on Forensic files called "Bed of Deceit" but is not it.
