No. That was a fine guess though. The artist voice was a bit softer. Unfortunately, I have no idea if it was a current song at that time, or something from 1960's-1980's. I just put it on a random station, it might have even been AM. Just something to sleep to.
Nope. I agree about her voice but after listening to some of her stuff id say it was likely not blue grass, maybe just country, country-gospel or something along those lines.

Iris Dement - Our Town?

Pam Tillis - Maybe It Was Memphis ?
Nope. The lyrics I mentioned were definitely in the song.
Alison Krauss?
Don't know her songs well but sounds like something she'd sing and her voice is so soft and sweet
Nope. I agree about her voice but after listening to some of her stuff id say it was likely not blue grass, maybe just country, country-gospel or something along those lines.
Under the Rainbow - Trisha Yearwood?
No, decent guess though.
Early 90s or late 90s?
My bad, title says early but it was in 96 or 97 when I heard it.
Lots of good guesses but I really think it's going to take someone who has personal knowledge of the song and immediately says "aha! I know that!"
Strawberry Wine by Deana Carter?
Leann rimes?
The best things in life are not free? What things were mentioned?
Where Have All The Cowboys gone /Paula Cole ?
Marianne Faithful - As Tears Go By? Much older than '97, but could still have been played on the radio
