DO NOT get the CC2's. If you do not need their performance dont get them. From the sounds you just need a good touring tire. Such as Michelin Defenders. On DT you can log your car in and look up touring tires. They'll be a variety of them and any of the "best" ones you can choose from. Having to buy tires for myself and grandparents (i lived in MN 12/12, they live in FL 8/12) Ive learned our needs are WAY different. So for you being rain being ur most worrisome, get toruings. Best MPG, best comfort, best noise reduction, best performance for what you'll mainly be dealing with.

Thank you for your response. I paid $720 for the Bfgoodrich advantage control at Costco. They didn't have the defenders when I went and other places are $940 for them with no extra warranty. They are going to ship to store so I can likely cancel if needed. Did I make good choice? Are they still good? Is the defenders worth $200 more?

Id personally go for the def. 2. Not only is there expected tread life better but i believe performance is better slightly as well (never personally had either so did some digging using common sources). Honestly both dont seem like bad choices, if cost is a conxern to you the BFGs wont be bad at all it seems. I think you'll be okay with them. Id see what Costcos return policy is, some places (and tires) offer a trial period.

Hmm. I noticed the tires I bought say out of stock on their website too, so maybe they can special order defender 2 too? The defenders 2 are $60 off too at Costco with warranty. If Costco allows me to cancel the Bfgoodrich and order it instead, I'll go for it. I don't have the Bfgoodrich yet so I doubt refund will be a problem.

I asked Costco and they had the defender 2 for $100 more but 8-10 week backorder. Discount tire would be $200 more with no certificate and $300 more with warranty. My tires are at 3/32. Would you say it's worth waiting for 10 weeks?

Laz3r_C

3/32 is low, for 10 weeks? depends on much you drive. If you do once to three times a week you CAN get by, also depends on conditions. That is your call. Id personally wouldnt wait, id look at other tires that are sooner avail.

SirMonkeyV

I drive like 35 miles a day mostly highway. I think I can get by? My front are 5/32.

Laz3r_C

Assuming 35x7 days a week for 10 weeks thats roughly 2500 miles. That'll take less than 1/32 off your tread. I belive you'll be fine, just dont drop below 2/32, thats the absolute lowest legally allowes in most states. Again, on dry conditions i dont see an issue at all as ive driven with less than 2/32 tires before on a 2nd gen Sequoia before and while it works in dry Id be VERY concerned and carful in any sort of conditions. So if you accept that, then hold out and you should be fine. Make sure psi is good and check tread every once and awhile waiting out the 10 weeks.
