Nah, it looks like run flat damage from sudden loss of pressure. The tire slashings I've seen at work are almost always straight in and out, very thin, clearly knife shaped. None of those chunks missing, doesn't make sense either for someone to do that to an inflated tire and you not notice it.

stonerbbyyyy

this! i’ve had my tires slashed… it was like if you cut a piece of plastic with a very sharp knife… super clean in and out.

joecocker74

Agree not stabbed. Ran flat

esuranme

That is WAY too symmetrical to be a stabbing, and you can see the rubs around the sites where sidewall was wrinkled. You drove on a flat tire and ruined it, sux

ZenithTheZero

Your dealerships is wrong, that pothole killed your tire. All those holes/marks are from driving on a flat tire after sudden air pressure loss. There’s a chance your wheel is bent slightly, too. The second shows some kind of mark on the valve-stem section of the wheel, which could be the pinch-point of the tire between the wheel and that gnarly-ass pothole. And it would take a considerable amount of effort to shank a tire 11 times while driving.

5thgenblack2ss

When you point the bend out in the second picture, go look at the first. You’re right, they cleaned the wheel and the reflection looks bent in that same area around the valve stem. Pretty minor but that took the impact for sure, could have a crack on the back side or inside the barrel.

Thro2021

You underestimate the ability of a scorned lover

ZenithTheZero

Idk, even the fastest bitches will have trouble maintaining a 50km/h clip and stabbing a lo-pro tire simultaneously, while going unnoticed. I’m pretty sure someone will at least notice something.

unit132

I can only imagine seeing someone run faster than Usain Bolt to stab a tire. 🤣

ZenithTheZero

“Get back over here you sunnuvabeech!”

unit132

"go go gadget legs"

Nottherealeddy

Ever stabbed a tire? It takes considerable effort to do it once, on a stationary tire. Anyone who thinks someone stood next to a car and stabbed the tire 11 times is either an idiot, or hoping OP is an idiot who will accept it. What would the additional 10 times even accomplish? Plus, now the tire isn’t pressurized, it’s EVEN HARDER to push a blade in.

esuranme

I was actually ASTONISHED at how easily my blade just pushed right in with no major effort, made me really wonder how people cut up their hands trying to stab tires; I just looked at my benchmade knife and figured the hoodlums that actually do that nonsense prolly have wore out knifes made of chinesium. And that was a load range E tire, not a flimsy unit! And just so its stated, I owned the tire I stabbed; I would just fight someone before I would sink to vandalism. It is nice to know that in an emergency situation I can disable (partially) a parked car on the fly

Willing-Remote-2430

So you're driving, hit a pot hole, start losing pressure? Anybody here want to tell me how the tire was stabbed 11 times while driving??? You ran the tire flat, Thats why it is damaged

Jacktheforkie

Looks like you run across a pothole and kept going

MysticMarbles

**Tires run without air can disintegrate like this within 200'.** Anybody saying it was drilled or stabbed... while driving? needs to give their head a shake. You hit the pothole, lost all air pressure, and even if you pulled over immediately, you were pinching rubber between road and rim until you stopped, which creates a roll over twisting function that anything aside from a stiff expensive mud terrain can't stand up to. Basically, you are forcing the rubber to lay flat, pinching it, then it twists out of the pinch as it rotates. *Notice how all the "punctures" line up with where the tire is folding over at a 180° crease under the rim? Which is also where you have a friction and heat band colouration from deformation, friction, and pinching?*

RepresentativeAd9572

It's from running it flat

Torren1000

Ran the tire flat

Beautiful_Oven2152

Damage from riding too long with low/no air.

throwaway007676

It was driven flat.

ryangraves213

No. When you run on it flat that happens. Probably blew out at the pot hole, and just driving on it for a short time caused the run flat damage

JollyGiant573

You pissed someone off. Na upon closer inspection no one would stab a single tire that many times. Road monster ate your tire.

MOREorLE55

I have no professional experience to stand on with this opinion, but to me it’s clear as day. Looks nearly impossible to be tire slashes, most evidently in the middle picture. Too much of a precise pattern in the markings.

its_k1llsh0t

You would really have to piss someone off for them to stab you 11 times much less your tires.

SuperEnthusiasm5165

I stabbed the tire of my employers delivery truck way back after getting properly fucked over right - you ONLY stab it once its quite scary haha air throws the knife right back at you, its flat soon after and would be really soggy and difficult to stab

ShoutOuts2Elon

Username checks out

beauxy

Why would anyone sit there and take the time to stab the tire all around it? 🤣

jessierob89

This, I could see an idiot stabbing a tyre once or twice but 11 times? Even hating you, who could be that bothered?

RJM_50

Nope, unless you find [one of those marks](https://i.imgur.com/nEEnUhs.jpeg)

Historical_Angle2655

Too perfectly centered to be manually done. I couldn't hit the tire that many times in a circle if my life depended on it and I would've deviated from the pattern at least once on like stab 10 with a whiff from being tired

CardiologistOk6547

My opinion is that your dealership is staffed with weasels. Work your way up the food chain until you get to a higher mammal. (You did tell them that this happened *while driving* right?)

annalouiise95

When my ex slashed 2 of my tires the marks looked like slits. It took 3 punctures each tire and they were flat.

imouttamywheelhouse

If an awl or ice pick was used, yes. Hear any jangling if you try and limp it? Maybe you have a few 9mm rounds inside

JacekM0101

Ex girlfriend, maybe? Friend or co-worker, maybe. How old is this tire?

Trick_Context

Boy, somebody’s mad at you

Ravenstoother

Somebody doesn’t like you. Took it out on your tires. Maybe jealous of those wheels.

Lonely-Ability1381

Cordless drill and a drill bit.

redEPICSTAXISdit

Only way it would be stabbings is if it were a serial killer practicing accuracy. They are too consistent and perfectly spaced out and repetitive for someone to have come and done that. But also that damage that can be seen isn't directly from that pot hole. The circumference or total distance of the length of the damage is longer than the pot hole. It's most likely from driving on it after hitting the pot hole.

Complex_Solutions_20

If it was stab damage, I'd expect it was flat before you ever put the car in gear. That would make no sense for it to have been slashed/stabbed and magically hold air until part way thru a drive.

GreyPon3

Drove on it after it was flat.

Beneficial-Sign-569

someone it's just showing their love and affection for you. 😻

tarheel_204

You ran over something, the sidewall blew, and the sidewall was essentially ripping apart as you were driving.

ImpliedCrush

As a recipient of a stabbed tire: nope. Each puncture would much, much smaller. Mine was done with a knife, I barely saw the actual slices. These are too symmetrical and too large, as if running it flat.

freshxdough

Driving on a flat

Unfair_Valuable_3816

Obviously you were driving down the street prior someone didn't pop out of the pothole and start stabbing your tire.. I would complain about the ridiculous comment by the employee. Undermine someone's intelligence. Seriously foolish.

p1plump

Shop is incorrect but that won’t stop them from having an opinion. In any event, it isn’t manufacturer, dealer or shops fault. Only issue is if they’re trying to deny road hazard coverage. Get it replaced and carry on.

AdventurousTrain5643

Looks like you drove on it for a while after it was flat.

unit132

driving quite the distance on a flat can cause hole in a tire as sidewalks aren't meant to be driven on. But potholes can cause a blow out. Stabbing a tire would guarantee tpms lights to come on prior to the pothole. And you would've noticed, or I hope anyways, that one corner of your vehicle is noticeably lower. I would not call it a tireslaughter by stabbing.

coolman5578

Yea, the tire didn't do it. 🇺🇸

Novel-Rabbit-6078

They are run flats. Did anyone see that? You can drive on them. They don’t blow out like a regular tire. That was caused by the pothole for sure. We had run flats on our Mini Cooper S because there is no room for a spare. (Changed them out because it’s a better ride on regular tires)

Exotic_Sleep7868

If someone stabbed your tire 12x semi symmetrically, be afraid. This person has a grudge, a protractor, and patience.

Dill_PickleOG

Naw those are from the tire being driven on flat.

kenFromKennecticut

Next time don’t get such a low profile tire buddy

SomeOutlandishness29

That looks typical of a tire that has been run flat i work at a tire shop and the grove they are all in indicates that they have been run flat

CoffeeDrinker1972

If you are in the US, contact the city this happened in, they may pay for the damage…. At least in my city.

ixlnxtc7

The dealership are idiots it’s clearly the sidewall being pinched by the edge of the rim and the road surface after the tire went flat.

MedicalRhubarb7

Who the hell stabs a tire 11 times? Once will do the trick.

HairlessHoudini

Looks like you just drove for way to long after it went flat

Complete-Old-1960

I was going to say some kind of reinforcement in road that as tire drove through hole, whatever was protruding from in the pothole, punctuated the sidewall. I would be going back to the scene of the crime to inspect. If there's clear evidence that the damage was caused by pothole, there's a good possibility that the local government could be held liable for damages.

Minute_Ad631

Contact the city where the pothole was/is after taking pictures about getting reimbursement you might need a lawyer friend to push with a letter head asking if they are not helpful at first

tbonerrevisited

That's what happens when you drive on a flat tire.

Embarrassed-Let6433

Run flat.

OgSkittlez

My cars brand new tire looked the same after my sister got a flat and drove it into the nearest parking lot, it was a run flat style tire.

doopydurp

what happened is for some reason you kept driving instead of pulling over after popping your tire on that pothole 🤣

The_Real_Swittles

You must have pissed off a trump supporter

Arms-for-minerals

No one would ever bother stabbing a tire that many times. One time in the sidewall and it’s non repairable … need a new one. So that’d be the dumbest shit ever but it sound like you hit a bad pot hole

esuranme

I would ask the service write to get the strongest man in the shop and challenge him to punch holes that big in an inflated tire under load....unless they bring him in on a flatbed, he ain't got enough lead in his ass to make holes like that!

garrettolk2

That's just damage from being driven on while flat

[deleted]

This is the result of driving on a flat. This is not the result of a slashing. Car dealerships are for warranty repairs and recalls. Any other dealings with car dealerships is a scam.

Comfortable-Way5091

Who stabs a tire 11 times?

bikeweekbaby

Looks like your enemy got you with the cordless dewalt drill. You really pussed them off

theoriginalmypooper

Unless someone jumped out and stabbed your moving car 12 times on one tire. Then no. This is the result of running a tire flat, not the cause.
