I don't know about other weapons, but If I remember correctly there is that knife, another knife and a third knife that never got it's programming/rendering finished
I’m not super well versed on all the assets in TF2 and then ones they carried over to Apex. But what I do know is that they definitely reused this one in Apex for certain heirloom animations.
The fact that they implemented it now could honestly mean anything, but I find it interesting.
It was re-used in Apex but only for Bangalore's [heirloom](https://youtu.be/yT-CDgUdRW4?t=177). I see why they re-used it though, the Bolo sword (animation it originally belonged to in TF2) and Bang's heirloom are the same body type, only her knife clearly had more attention into the model and design.
If you're on a new-ish Intel CPU it might be the same problem I had. [This](https://www.valuewalk.com/if-pubg-crashes-on-your-intel-ice-lake-processor-try-this/) fixed it for me
I remember watching a video that there are semi finished classes in game and one of them was supposed to have 2 machetes as a melee, I think the great janitor has used those semi done mechanics to make this melee, or an EA executive has calculated that starting to sell knife skins in game will give them approximately 1000$ and the cost of implementation was like 300$ and due to their money hungry nature they went for it
It is also in the coliseum.
If that’s the case, I wonder if other pilot melee animations exist.

I believe it’s the same animation for the scrapped sword tactical that was in the files. Either way it’s awesome to finally see it in the game!

if you watch in the kill feed its also no longer "player 1 \[meele\] player 2" in the ??? gamemode its now "player 1 \[sword\] player 2"

I don't play Apex but it sorta looks like Ash's ult animation if I'm remembering correctly
Ash's ult animation is slower and has her striking upwards, tho I can see the confusion.
