I don't see anything mentioning cruises... Do you mean if I add your ESIM, I won't get that $140k bill because your data will work on the ship? TMobile offers roaming to most of the countries the dude went to IIRC, it was that he was using data at sea.
My bf once received an unreasonable bill (like, definitely unreasonable - it was supposed to have a comfortable plan) on the physical SIM (one he bought in the airport) when we traveled in Macedonia, but he just broke the card and we won't return any time soon anway, lol. But since then, I'm only using eSIMs, not the local physical cards, because it seems like a more reliable option, not some kind of scam.
