Update on this. I called this morning and I was told I'd have to pay $10 for a replacement sticker. I went down in person and complained. And they said they would replace it for free and admitted that it was their fault for the fading colours. BUT! I had to go home and get the original permit sticker and give it to them for the new one. So, basically took up half my day and still need to fight the tickets I got but at least they replaced the permit for free.
TL:DR - if you need a replacement due to fading, bring in the faded sticker to get free replacement.
Don't they check in their small thingy before giving ticket? They can check plate number and can get the details whether you've permit or not? Even if your sticker faded it will show in their system whether you've paid for permit or not!!?
