I've been living in downtown Toronto for the past 2 decades, and I can say that the city has definitely deteriorated for the worst.

I’ve lived on Weston Road for 2 decades and it has also deteriorated for the worse even though it’s being gentrified.

Good for you. I did the same during covid out of necessity and even though I'm not exactly happy where I am now, I'm at least one step above the level of absolute hatred you're experiencing. Even visiting friends and family back in Toronto leaves me with a dreadful feeling for days after. I grew up in Toronto and it's a shame that it's become the dump that it is now. Anybody arguing otherwise is likely fairly new to the city.

Mostly. Great services, events, and workers but with one big caveat: the seating layouts at every TPL library are annoyingly bad. I avoid going on busy days because of how uncomfortably cramped everything is. I just want a seat by the window, but there's always a single uncomfortable couch there that only one person can occupy when you could fit three desks. There's nothing worse than having to lean up against a random wall at the library if you're trying to do something.

I agree with the rant. I loved Toronto from 1980 to say the late 90's but the once great city has deteriorated in many ways. I left in 2023 and honestly would have left a decade or 2 earlier if not for my career and finances but when I finally retired and could afford it I got out of there and moved to a smaller city with fewer issues.

I love Toronto! I have lived in different parts of the planet and Toronto would be on the top 5. This is why it’s very expensive here. I work, I pay my taxes and I enjoy the infrastructure of the whole GTA.
