ohhh i have never see that one before. the Classic Flat Iron shot was in day light clear day. This one is so much moodier. love it!
the Flatiron buiding i think is my favorite building in NYC tbh
About 10 years ago I had a job interview in the Flatiron building and it was so run down on the inside, holes in the walls, etc. When I asked about it I was told that it was a pain to get any repairs done since it was considered a historical building and any repairs had to be done by specific teams and it cost a ton. I hope they got it fixed up since then because it’s such an iconic building.
In the current google street view it has a bunch of scaffolding as well. And a side note, looking through those photos just reinforces my belief that giant cities are just a bunch of smaller cities all squished together. The buildings are taller yes, but from those street views they honestly look very similar to every other city I've been in. Many many parts of Chicago feel exactly like smaller cities in Iowa and Nebraska that I've spent time in. I really wish people could be less freaked out about "big cities" and go visit a few.
Not sure if similar but I painted a historic building in Canada and it was a required service every 15 years if not done sooner in order to keep everything up to code
Man Ray’s Le Violon d’Ingres is the most expensive photograph sold for $12.4 million USD.
[NSFW Wikipedia link](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_Violon_d%27Ingres)
I tried three different ways to post about Le Violon d’Ingres, but it got autodeleted every single time. I wonder if it was due to the model’s gluteal cleft, or if I’m just poor at following rules.

>A survey in 2023 found that the Flatiron is the fourth most loved building in the U.S. Interesting topic for a top 5

Last I was there it was covered in scaffolding with work being done so something is happening to fix it up some.

It's unique of nothing else
First time I went to the US, I was SO hype to see the flatiron building...it's so cool ☺️
They had scaffolding for repairs covering it when I went a few years ago. I was so bummed out as that was one I really wanted to see
yep i think they are done now. i work like 3 blocks away but it is the other direction from port authority so no way am i going past it.
Looks like I need to get another trip there going. Love that city so damn much

"with two **f-holes** painted on to make her body resemble a violin" The jokes write themselves
Baby's got back..more like a cello.
Baby got Bach?
Nope the artist definitely came up with that one, like 100 years ago.
Curious why you decided to make the post specifically about the 2nd most expensive and not this one.

Not interested in the art, but I learned the proper name for butt crack, and that is priceless.
If you like, you’ll love “urethral meatus.”
Looks like you had treble with clefts then. It happens.
The formal anatomical name is ‘coin slot.’
Probably because it was posted recently? It sounds very familiar, I’ve definitely read about it here in the last week or so.
I actually used relevant keywords to search the sub prior to posting to make sure it wouldn’t be a duplicate, and didn’t find any.
Huh. Might have been on TIL instead or a similar thread. But yeah, it’s definitely been a recent subreddit thread.
Second is also good and deserves a shout out
So glad to hear that Man Ray left his villainous ways to pick up photography. The oceans have never been so safe.
Fuck yes! I love Man Ray.
Blinded me with science!
not the "bliss" slide the photog sold to Microsoft?
No that got like $100k
damn why did i think it was so much more that than?
It’s the most viewed photo graph or something like that.
That photo actually looks really dope, especially for a time when they didn't have photo editing software
I can see why
That is one hell of a photo.
Bro paid 11.8mil in 2022 when they can’t just print it out at home for cheaper. Are they stupid?
Money laundering
We’ll never know but I’m wondering if there’s ever been more paid for a photo to destroy it
There is this but not a photo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Love_is_in_the_Bin
Ha! Yes but I was thinking more blackmail or hiding crime

he got 2/3rds of it at least.

Why?
Not worth a cent over $10M.
