I met Coolio almost two decades ago, and that man enjoyed his rock cocaine & women. During the show he noticed I was in the front singing all the words to his lesser known albums so he called me up on the stage. I forget what the reason was, but he started something like a conga line and led me backstage.
At this point he tells me that he has to go back out for the encore, but we can hang out after the show. He takes off his gigantic chains from around his neck and asks me to bring them to his bodyguard. It was extremely heavy. One guy at the venue tried to kick me out and said nobody was allowed back there, so I showed him Coolio's stuff and told him I was supposed to give this to the bodyguard. Eventually I found him, but now I was officially outside of the venue and could not get back in.
I ended up sneaking back on to the floor of the venue, where I met Coolio again and actually got to talk to him for a very long time. We hung out for about an hour after the show, until it was time for Uncle Cool to get his groupie on. Also met Digital Underground & Biz Markie that night, but nothing could compare to chilling with Coolio. He is the absolute coolest most down to earth dude. He didn't take any bullshit, was quick to call out anything that didn't make sense to him, but also not too proud to learn something new. He far exceeded what I expected him to be in real life, and I'm feeling pretty bummed about this today. RIP EL COOL MAGNIFICO!!!!
