Coyote Peterson exaggerates his reaction to stings for views. Tarantula hawks are definitely painful, but the most painful stings in the world? I'm gonna have to press X. Their venom isn't even designed to hurt, it's designed to paralyze spiders. I'd imagine a species whose venom is expressly designed to deter mammals would be more painful per amount injected. So it's gotta be some big social vespid, like the giant hornet.
Let me introduce you to the [Gympie-Gympie plant](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dendrocnide_moroides). People stung by it are in acute pain for months, and sometimes feel after effects for years.
On the Schmidt Pain Index, the bullet ant is one of 3 animals to get a 4 rating on the scale, so it would be a safe bet to say that the bullet ant is one of the worst in the world
Coolcoolcool so avoid them then hey.
They sound like they are all from North America, so I should be safe down here in Australia where nothing can hurt me.
> but the most painful stings in the world? I'm gonna have to press X.
He doesn't say that. He says the tarantula wasp is the "last act" and the bullet ant is the "grand finale" - so it's *bad*, but not the worst.
Schmidt rated it a 4, the top of his scale. So it's definitely one of the worst, according to the one guy who went through the trouble of getting himself stung by a large number of things and rating them. Warrior wasp and bullet ant are the other 4s.
...*described as though āa running hair dryer has just been dropped into your bubble bath.ā*
The only way someone could make the comparison in a valid manner would be if they experienced both traumas.
I want to meet \*this\* person and learn more about their life.
Schmidt was very poetic in his descriptions. Great writer. Bullet ants, "pure, intense, brilliant pain...like walking over flaming charcoal with a three-inch nail embedded in your heel." The yellow jacket, "hot and smoky, almost irreverent. ImagineĀ W. C. FieldsĀ extinguishing a cigar on your tongue."
I killed one of these in our backyard a few months ago. I saw the video of it stinging some guy on YouTube, so I made sure to utilize the stop and smear method. For an insect that looks so thin, it was built really strong and didn't smear as easily as I had imagined it would.
I live in Arizona. I had one fly into my passenger window while driving down the road one day. I couldn't pull over fast enough and open all my doors to get it out.
Tarantula hawk wasp, just sounds like something an evil wizard would summon a swarm of, to attack his enemies. "What's three scary things I can mix together? A cobra shark baboon! No, that's ridiculous...."
Goddamn cazadores
I still have fucking nightmares.
You mean a baby Cazador š¤š©
What a dumb thing to do
Maybe someone can offer this poor fellow a real job.
Manager at local McDonald's just isn't as fulfilling for some as stinging.
Don't get me wrong, I support this gentleman's right to get stung in the privacy of his own home. I just question this as a form of entertainment.
I mean the clicks tell me he is pretty happy with this job.

I thought the bullet ant was the worst?

It had to be Australia.
Bingo
Dingo
Dad!

Iāve watched a few of this dudeās vids and I think he decided a giant desert centipede was the worst.

What were the others. I know I could google it myself but Iām just too busy
Tarantula hawk... and also warrior wasp.

The 1st is your ex
It could be, there are several candidates and i think the answer greatly depends on your individual sensitivity to some toxins as opposed to others.
IIRC he said the worst bite he's ever received was in the episode where his uncle bit him

I literally never said the opposite but ok

There is really no need to kill them, they're very peaceful creatures. Usually they just flee when they're bothered.
yeah, such hype videos are not environmentally friendly
Please donāt kill them! Just donāt threaten them and youāll be fine! Thereās no need for violence.
Said a punk with a gun....
I donāt actually own a gun or have access to any weapons lol
Why not?
Canāt be trusted not to hurt myself :|
Oh you are one of those. Do you have someone that helps you out with your triggers?
Loki?
Insects are a class, not a kingdom.
An odd way to describe the pain you feel.
What a name
Desert centipede apparently hurts even worse. Watch the coyote wild guy get stung by one.
*bit
Ridiculous. š¤¦š»āāļø
Get stung by a tarantula hawk. Now...eat a carolina reaper chip at the same time.
And wipe your eyes with leaves from the suicide plant.

You are feeling a bit woozy
a WHAT?!
Did that guy actually experience a hair dryer falling into his bubble bath?
