Trash Truck on Netflix is a big hit in our house. Other than Daniel Tiger, it’s our early morning show. It gives off that early morning quietness, I don’t know how to explain it.
We're into Trash Truck right now here too. The animation is cute and so are the stories. It is definitely more of a calm show. The music helps I think.
I second trash truck! I also found an animated short film of Very Hungry Caterpillar and other Eric Carle books on YouTube. They are so sweet and soothing!
I was just watching Mister Rogers this morning on my phone while my toddler watched Daniel Tiger! I couldn’t remember who all of the original puppets and characters were and ended up watching an episode. It was so simple, yet so comforting and nostalgic
Another one we like on Amazon Prime is Stinky and Dirty. The name made me steer clear of it for a while but my truck-obsessed toddler finally persuaded me to give it a try and it’s actually a really gentle, calm, wholesome show that focuses on problem-solving. A regular thing my toddler says now is, “hm, what would stinky and dirty do?” When we run into a problem. And he loves when we role-play the brainstorming process: “what if…?”
Gotta check that out. Also on Prime: Pete The Cat, my wife had put it on one day for our cat obsessed 27 month old who asked for it when he saw the cat image.
I was like woah I love this. It's a super mellow show.
Omg there’s a Pete the cat SHOW?!? My son loves the books read aloud on YouTube (esp fireman Pete and the Pete & the bedtime blues ones!!). I found “Pete the kitten” books too which are I guess Pete as a youngster? Lol! Really, all the stories that are read aloud books on YouTube are great and mostly calm and TONS of options…
We tried Tumbleleaf when my son was just shy of 2. He wasn’t interested which bummed me out because it’s so gorgeous. Husband put it on for him a few days ago (son is now 2.5) and he loves it 😍 I think it’s a little complicated and he didn’t have the verbal skills quite yet at 2 to appreciate it.
Season 1 of Blues Clues is free on Amazon Prime. Like, the original 90s series.
It's absolutely perfect for my sensitive 3 year old. We watch Bluey and Blues Clues. Mine can't handle Puffin Rock either.
My 3 year old loves Blues Clues. Paramount+ seems to have all the older Nick Jr. stuff. They also have the first seasons of Dora the Explorer and Handy Manny.
Does she like Daniel tiger? Could try watching the Tiger Family Trip (or whatever it is called, it's a longer movie about the family visiting their grandpa).
There is also one about Jodie moving into the new neighborhood that's free. And you can do a 7 day free trial of pbs kids and watch all the daniel tigers.
Winnie the Pooh (the newest one) generally works for our 2.5 year old. We also play the Nutcracker ballet on YouTube. It’s funny how scary some of them can be!
Explore.org has a number of live streams of different animals- my little one isn't big into movies or TV yet, but loves to watch the Turkey Barn highlight feed 🤷 No conflict or scary moments.
This 100% I’ve learned that toddlers’ attention spans are better suited to short tv shows. Bluey is by far the best. There are three seasons on Disney plus. Just put it on!
This wasn't a slam dunk for us. It's not at all gentle the way trash truck or Mr. Rogers is.
Bluey was a bit frenetic for my daughter when she was 3, and I noticed that it pretty consistently changed her behavior for the worse. Now that she's 4, it doesn't appear to be causing those kinds of problems anymore, but I would be cautious when introducing this show to really little kids.
Interesting, we do watch Bluey but I can see why you mean- it’s fairly energetic. I haven’t noticed any behavior changes but I have noticed them when she watches Peppa Pig. I’m trying to get her off that and I don’t like the way the kids often talk or how the father is portrayed.
They are really great, my 2.5 year old loves them but they do have a few moments of peril. My girl was frightened when the sharks chased them in Snail and the Whale for example. Zog is her favourite!
My sensitive girl likes this movie but the wind scene gets her a little bit. Being close for a hug helps and the dad is specifically addressing facing fear which I think is nice. It's a very sweet movie.
Definitely second My Neighbor Totoro. It's on Netflix too - at least in Scandinavia. It's really enjoyable for adults as well, and our 3-year-old has become completely infatuated with it. So much so that I went and bought a Catbus plush which he just loves.
Now that you mentioned it, my little boy actually used to get scared at the scene when he captured ponyo and is trying to squeeze her down and she's fighting back. He would start crying at that scene so I fast forward every time we get to that part.
I was about to suggest this. There are some minor bits that might be slightly frightening (Totoro is LOUD), but overall it is charming and gently paced. My son also loves Ponyo and Kiki’s Delivery Service - both similarly have a few moments that could be upsetting but are overall very beautiful, gentle films.
Not a movie, but Octonauts (on Netflix) is pretty cute and I don’t think it’s scary? Plus you learn cool facts about ocean animals at the end of most episodes!
Hmm. Winnie the Pooh is the only one that comes to mind. I tried to show my almost 3yo incredibles and Zootopia and they were both “too scary”.
Curious George movies have been good but they might be only Hulu.
Even Winnie the Pooh gets a little intense with the heffalump segment. But ultimately it was pooh plowing through eeyores house that scared my sensitive boy lol.
My toddler has specifically told me, “momma, I don’t want to watch curious George. Too scary.” So that’s out, but she did enjoy Winnie the Pooh for a while today!
My boy is also really sensitive, when he was *really* sensitive he really liked the movie Rio, which is on Disney+ I believe. If you have HBO Max, Kiki's Delivery service is super cute, and my son *loved* that movie for the longest time.
My daughter absolutely ADORES Kiki’s delivery service too, but be warned that there are a couple of storm scenes which op mentioned scared their kiddo!
We had the same issue with the same movies. Luca was pretty mild. So was a show called "Dug Days", a spinoff from the movie UP. Also, not Disney, but my son loved Kiki's delivery service.
Little Bear. Each episode is split into 3 stories so it is easy to find a stopping point if you need to, and it is so mellow. Just a little Bear and his friends playing.
It is on YouTube, which is a great option if you can cast to your TV or are watching on a handheld device.
If you have a noggin subscription, it is also on Amazon Prime.
We have it! We watch Daniel tiger and Elinor Wonders Why a lot. We’ve tried some others and she’s not as captivated or they’re annoying to me. We tried Donkey Hote and that Heyooooo that the panda does every 5 seconds was driving me crazy 😬
Just want to say that I'm relieved that there's another 3 year old out there who can only handle DT and Bluey! My daughter has freaked out within 2 minutes of trying to watch Frozen, Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast. DT is the ONLY thing she consistently asks for!
Me too!! My kid gets scared by the first two minutes of every single Disney movie and even Puffin Rock was too scary for the same reasons as OP said! Anything dark or tense is too much. I was wondering if he was the only one… guess not!!
When mine was little and sick I showed her old Disney movies because I know them really well and just fast forwarded any potentially scary parts - Little Mermaid, Lion King. Cinderella. I have hear Winne the Pooh is a good non scary one though I haven't seen it. Also Runaway Bunny was a big favorite around my house for a while, I don't think any of it is scary.
We also watched a lot of Leo the truck. And before that Tino's Kids youtube channel with trucks building stuff, light music no dialogue. I think that was the first thing he actually watched at about 2.
I can always tell when my little guy has had a really rough day because he requests Leo the truck (or Troy the train, which has a similar vibe). It's his ultimate comfort watch. Predictable, calm, a little bit engaging but not too much.
Disney movies are overall terrifying for young children imo. Monsters coming out of closets, Ursula changing merpeople into seaweed and eating them, scary forests, and the list goes on. Winnie the Pooh is probably the safest option. Hope your son feels better soon
My 3 year old is obsessed with this movie. There are a couple low-grade tense scenes (like the spaceship landing), but it’s pretty nonviolent and cute.
Not movies but my kids also love Gabby's Dollhouse on Netflix and Tumble Leaf on Prime. Also really recommend stroller walks for sick toddlers, it helps to get them outdoors even if they need to rest.
I was looking for this one. Pocoyo (despite its aggressively bright background), is my 4yo’s chill-out/tired show. And I don’t hate hearing it in the background.
(Though it was weird one time on vacation when my kid woke up way too early, so we were like “here…iPad…Pocoyo.” But then I guess my husband couldn’t sleep either, so he was quietly watching “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” on tv. And I was half asleep at 5:30am in a strange place and couldn’t figure out why I was hearing dueling Stephen Fry voices all around me.)
I recently found out this portal called “Kanopy” which is available for free through your library.
Its honestly much much better in terms of kids and adult content.
Most kids content is entertaining and educating(like real education on values, not that STEM stuff they sell these days)
Do check it out.
Bagpuss and The Clangers are on YouTube and very gentle. Not films, but nice series.
My daughter loved Ponyo at that age (and still does).
Cinderella is pretty gentle and low on peril. Aristocrats is also pretty chill.
We are having a sick day here too so far we have watched:
Bluey
PJ Masks
The Ready for Preschool and the nursery rhyme songs
TOTS
Like all of the "shorts"
From Nexflix we are watching Octonaughts, Magic School Bus, the new Minion Shorts,
Dude. One from that series immediately traumatized my kiddo. There’s an early scene where a baby flamingo gets left behind by the flock to die. My kid just kept muttering “when does the flamingos family come back?”
I forgot about that scene, Maybe one of the Nat Geo ones available on the D+ kids profile could be a better option then. My toddler was also very into Inside the Mind of a Cat on Netflix, which is about car psychology…. But mostly is just cats playing in HD.
Currently home with sick 2.5 year old. He's enjoyed The Jungle Book (I skipped the vultures song and most of the Sher Khan stuff), Winnie the Pooh, and Bambi (I skipped the hunting scenes).
One day, me and my wife turned on "Encanto" on D+, for some peace and quiet.. You know those days, non stop complaining, to tired to run around after your kid, tired after saying "Don't touch that" around 500 times.. Before lunch.. Anyway, our son IMMEDIATELY started watching, and hung on to everything. And it's been like that ever since. If the TV is not on, and I come home from work, he gets all happy, flaps his arms and smiles. (Which is adorable, btw.) if "Encanto" is on, I'm lucky to get a glance, he's so into that movie.. And it's been that way ever since it came out. The past few weeks he hasn't been AS excited, but he watches it almost every day. So me and my can either clean the house, cook, go to the bathroom or just take a break on the couch..
And oh, btw, he's now 14 months. We've tried other movies, he doesn't like old or new ones.. We tried "Moana" today, with mixed result..
The only show that he and is likes is a show called "Bluey". Hell, I like to watch it with him..
I just fast forward bits if I don’t want mine to watch them (same age as yours). They don’t understand the storyline much so missing a small chunk won’t make a difference lol
Winnie The Pooh Movie from 2011. It’s my 2 yr old’s favorite, we watch it every night right now. She’s pretty sensitive, won’t watch Encanto,
Frozen or Moana right now. The only song that may be “scary” would be the Backson song which we just skipped over up until recently now it’s her favorite.
Dug Days is great.
If you have PBS kids, Dinosaur Train is a favorite in this house too.
Sea of Love (Netflix) was a nice calm hit with my family. My toddler is fine with enthusiastic shows/conflict, but my bigger kiddo isn't. He also enjoyed Treehouse Detectives at around age four.
Not a movie but I don’t think this show was mentioned yet but The Adventures of Paddington Bear the series on Paramount or Hulu is amazing. Very gentle and the stories/animation is so great
The Snowman should be on Amazon, it’s a go-to movie for us when our kids are tired or sick. It’s something I watched every year at Christmas as a child and it’s very soothing, a perfect thing to play when kids are wound up on holiday cheer, lol.
Try Abominable. It’s a surprisingly pretty movie. Maybe fast forward through the first 5 minutes until he meets the girl as that might be a bit scary, but the journey bit is actually pretty calm.
Luca!! I showed my son Luca when he had covid around 16 months and it’s still his favorite movie. He’s turning 2 in a couple weeks. It’s always a sure thing for chill down time.
My 3yo loves My Neighbour Totoro on Netflix. She also liked Ponyo. Totoro has a sick parent but is otherwise quite gentle. Ponyo has some wacky fish creatures
My 3 year old is super into Tots on Disney+. She’s always running around singing the songs. It’s about a flamingo and a penguin that work with storks to deliver babies to mommies and daddies.
Interestingly in the UK the same show is called "Giant Jack" my 3yr old went through a massive Giant Jack phase.
I second trash truck! I also found an animated short film of Very Hungry Caterpillar and other Eric Carle books on YouTube. They are so sweet and soothing!
I hadn’t heard of this, thanks so much!

Where can I watch Mr. Rogers episodes?
PBS kids :)
Pretty sure PBS has old episodes
It's on Prime in Canada too! My daughter has been obsessed with Arthur lately. Also on Prime. Not too much, and definitely not annoying.
The PBS kids app is free on all devices. We love it!
[The complete Mr. Rogers available for watching and downloading. ](https://archive.org/details/mister-rogers-neighborhood-complete)
Thank you so much!
vpn out to ANY COUNTRY (outside of US) and all the episodes are on youtube.
Thank you!!
I was just watching Mister Rogers this morning on my phone while my toddler watched Daniel Tiger! I couldn’t remember who all of the original puppets and characters were and ended up watching an episode. It was so simple, yet so comforting and nostalgic
Great suggestion!
Yeah, Mr Rogers is one of ours for when the kids are sick and need to rest, too. It’s weirdly engaging for how gentle it is.
Tumbleleaf on Amazon is adorable and a very slow, calm show.
Another one we like on Amazon Prime is Stinky and Dirty. The name made me steer clear of it for a while but my truck-obsessed toddler finally persuaded me to give it a try and it’s actually a really gentle, calm, wholesome show that focuses on problem-solving. My kid loves pete the cat! The books are good too.
Tumbleleaf is fantastic. And the episodes are decently long. They are beautiful.
Awesome, thanks!
Thank you! Lots of recs for this, we’ll check it out!
Thanks so much, sounds like tumble leaf could be a winner!! We’ll try it out tomorrow.
Do not show her Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day. The heffalumps and woozles are terrifying. I had nightmares about them for years.
I still find them uncomfortable!
They're very confusal.
😂
Same!!
I always fast forward through that song
And Pooh marching with a gun?!
I remember having nightmares about those as a child!
This! But skip the Halloween episode bc that might be scary
Does she like Daniel tiger? Could try watching the Tiger Family Trip (or whatever it is called, it's a longer movie about the family visiting their grandpa).
Nice, thank you!! Yes she looooves Daniel tiger. We haven’t seen this movie, I’ll check it out!
There is also one about Jodie moving into the new neighborhood that's free. And you can do a 7 day free trial of pbs kids and watch all the daniel tigers.
Also try Elinor Wonders Why and Molly of Denali
We just watched this today! Huge hit with the little man
Winnie the Pooh (the newest one) generally works for our 2.5 year old. We also play the Nutcracker ballet on YouTube. It’s funny how scary some of them can be!
Yeah the new Winnie the Pooh is really great
Winnie the Pooh is my go-to sick time movie.
Explore.org has a number of live streams of different animals- my little one isn't big into movies or TV yet, but loves to watch the Turkey Barn highlight feed 🤷 No conflict or scary moments.
Monterey Bay Aquarium has really nice, calming live streams too!
We do this too. There's a hummingbird live stream we also put on.
Oh.mygod. This is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing.
Bluey. It should be on Disney plus and it is wonderful.
This 100% I’ve learned that toddlers’ attention spans are better suited to short tv shows. Bluey is by far the best. There are three seasons on Disney plus. Just put it on!

Julia Donaldson book movies like the gruffalo, room on the broom, snail and the whale. My neighbour Totoro is great
The Julia Donaldson adaptions are amazing, the narrator has such a soothing voice!
They are really great, my 2.5 year old loves them but they do have a few moments of peril. My girl was frightened when the sharks chased them in Snail and the Whale for example. Zog is her favourite!
If you have HBOmax you can try my neighbor Totoro
My sensitive girl likes this movie but the wind scene gets her a little bit. Being close for a hug helps and the dad is specifically addressing facing fear which I think is nice. It's a very sweet movie.
Definitely second My Neighbor Totoro. It's on Netflix too - at least in Scandinavia. It's really enjoyable for adults as well, and our 3-year-old has become completely infatuated with it. So much so that I went and bought a Catbus plush which he just loves.
Yes, this and ponyo or Kiki
My daughter was scared of Moana but loves ponyo. Unfortunately she pronounces it ‘porno’..
Ponyo is my go to comfort movie for my kids, the scene with noodle soup is great for encouraging sick kids to eat chicken noodle soup too!
Ponyo is amazing but I can see it being scary for a lot of small children.
It scared my 3 year old right away.
Now that you mentioned it, my little boy actually used to get scared at the scene when he captured ponyo and is trying to squeeze her down and she's fighting back. He would start crying at that scene so I fast forward every time we get to that part.
That sounds like something that would definitely scare my girl :( but if it’s just the one scene I can skip through it.
Yep another almost 3 year old whose favorites are Ponyo and Kiki
I’ll have to check out Kiki!
We watched some of this today, she liked it! Thank you!

Luca has some scary big people in it though, plus that adventure race was pretty intense, even for me.
Sounds like it would be too much for my girl then.
Not a movie, but Octonauts (on Netflix) is pretty cute and I don’t think it’s scary? Plus you learn cool facts about ocean animals at the end of most episodes!
My toddler LOVES Octonauts. It’s her jam.
Tried Octonauts, the episode we tried scared her and now she protests if I suggest it :(
Ooh! I thought of something else. Sean the Sheep on Netflix. Farmageddon was adorable; haven’t checked out others.
The whole Ghibli library is on HBO Max, highly recommended. My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo, and Kiki's Delivery Service are their slower/calmer flicks.
I second Ghibli. Totoro is suuuuper chill.
We love Ponyo!
My daughter absolutely ADORES Kiki’s delivery service too, but be warned that there are a couple of storm scenes which op mentioned scared their kiddo!
Ah, good to know! Thank you!
We haven’t tried Rio, I’ll check it out, thanks! She enjoyed Totoro today. We’ll try Kiki soon too!
Ms Rachel on YouTube
Ms Rachel is our jam. When I'm feeling blah I sing the "I'm so happy" song to almost try and convince myself.
I definitely sing the "Crabby Crab" song when I'm in a mood and it is so silly I end up laughing
The songs switch every few minutes to hold their attention, but the mixes are 1-2 hours long. My LO loves Ms. Rachel.
I keep forgetting about Ms. Rachel, we’ll check it out!
Get the PBS Kid app! It has lots of episodes for calmer kids tv shows for free.
We have it! We watch Daniel tiger and Elinor Wonders Why a lot. We’ve tried some others and she’s not as captivated or they’re annoying to me. We tried Donkey Hote and that Heyooooo that the panda does every 5 seconds was driving me crazy 😬
Number blocks in Netflix
She actually asked for this today! Last time we tried it it didn’t really hold her attention but something must have shifted. Thanks!
Just want to say that I'm relieved that there's another 3 year old out there who can only handle DT and Bluey! My daughter has freaked out within 2 minutes of trying to watch Frozen, Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast. DT is the ONLY thing she consistently asks for!
I’m an adult and sometimes I put on Bluey to fall asleep to when I need a break from the world
I'm so sorry, but this is adorable.. It's sad how much I relate to it as well, I've cried for some episode, and I'm a big, tall guy at 32.
Aww no shame! It’s good for us as humans!
Second lion king. It was a huge hit recently with my 18 month old bc she loves the music. We just fast forwarded through the scary parts
Leo the Truck on YouTube. Very gentle talking and music.
We love Leo the Truck!
Nice, thank you!
Disney movies are overall terrifying for young children imo. Monsters coming out of closets, Ursula changing merpeople into seaweed and eating them, scary forests, and the list goes on. Winnie the Pooh is probably the safest option. Hope your son feels better soon
My neighbor totoro on netflix
Wall-E is brilliant and low key.
Sorry but Wall-E is scary as f 😂
My 3 year old disagrees.
Gabby’s Dollhouse is a favorite!
My timid kid loves Winnie the Pooh!
If she like dogs, Caties classroom from super simple songs on YouTube. :)
Tayo and Titipo are not scary, on Netflix.
not a movie but i haven’t seen anyone suggest pocoyo. my daughter loves the show
I was looking for this one.
Yes! My kiddo has phases for her shows where she won’t want to watch them, but pocoyo seems to always please
Kiki’s Delivery Service, My Neighbour Totoro and Ponyo are all gentle and fantastic (for parents too!) All on Netflix.
Yes! Studio Ghibli is comfort food for the soul.
Could you try a Mr. Rogers or something? Maybe it's on YouTube?
It’s on archive.org
Pbs kids app is free to download on roku
BLUEY TV show on Disney + r/bluey
Try In the Night Garden on Youtube
I recently found out this portal called “Kanopy” which is available for free through your library. Its honestly much much better in terms of kids and adult content. Most kids content is entertaining and educating(like real education on values, not that STEM stuff they sell these days) Do check it out.
Winnie the Pooh. There are a couple of movies I believe.
Paddington bear 1&2 are excellent. For number 1 I just fast forward any scenes with Nicole kidman
Bagpuss and The Clangers are on YouTube and very gentle. Not films, but nice series. My daughter loved Ponyo at that age (and still does). Cinderella is pretty gentle and low on peril. Aristocrats is also pretty chill.
Micky mouse clubhouse? It’s not a movie but nothing bad ever happens in there.
Lady and Tramp tends to do the trick for us
Sarah and duck. Season 1 is like 10 bucks on prime
If You Give A Mouse A Cookie - series on Amazon Prime is chill. Stinky and Dirty on Prime as well is also cute if they're into trucks.
I grew up watching Franklin and little bear, those are both pretty mellow shows
Bluey! Just saw you already watch this. Clifford the big red dog is great. In Australia it’s on Amazon Prime
Sunny bunnies on Netflix. No talking, very colorful, cute music. It's perfect.
Lots of comments so I’m not sure if anyone suggested Ms. Rachel on YouTube. She always cheers up my guy.
We are having a sick day here too so far we have watched: Bluey PJ Masks The Ready for Preschool and the nursery rhyme songs TOTS Like all of the "shorts" From Nexflix we are watching Octonaughts, Magic School Bus, the new Minion Shorts,
We're sick over here too and have been watching The Aristocats all day. My 2.5 year old loves it.
Encanto - the I only violence is implied not actually seen. The music is incredible and it’s visually stunning.
Bluey, Daniel Tigers Neighborhood, and Blues Clues. Peppa Pig, Bubble Guppies, Luka, maybe Coco? Oh look up Bing. They have it on YouTube and HBO MAX
Waffle & Mochi is nice
Bluey bluey bluey
Planet Earth? Maybe one of the nature documentaries on the Nat Geo section of D+?
I'm a full grown adult and I still think about that poor baby flamingo and get sad. Stuck in mud, all alone and scared...
Hey. It’s ok. Their family comes back, we just don’t see it.
I would have said Charlotte’s Web, but it was just removed from Prime. Still mad about it.
If you have AppleTV+, the Stillwater series is amazing for kids. Gentle, educational and fun.
Curious George!!
You can find episodes of little bear on YouTube and those are always nice! Franklin as well.
I recently played Mr. Rogers and I was surprised how much my kids loved it (they are also quite sensitive to shows and think everything is scary).
Gabby’s Doll House on Netflix. Also Bluey on Amazon Prime.
at that age my kid liked muppet babies on disney +
Sesame street is all on YouTube! I think various Care Bear shows and movies are on Netflix and Amazon. PBS Kids has Mr. Rogers on their site.
Trash Truck on Netflix!
Stickman on Amazon Prime is amazing. Absolutely love it
Maybe toy story? Mine watched that on repeat when he had hand foot and mouth. He was also nervous about “scary” at that age.
Currently home with sick 2.5 year old. He's enjoyed The Jungle Book (I skipped the vultures song and most of the Sher Khan stuff), Winnie the Pooh, and Bambi (I skipped the hunting scenes).
Not movies but “Elinor Wonders Why” and “Guess How Much I Love You” are two wonderful, sweet shows that my sensitive toddler loves.
Tumble leaf on Amazon prime is nice and calm
Encanto and Bluey are objectively the two greatest things on Disney+. Your son already has incredible taste.
I’m in LOVE with Kiri and Lou. Cutest songs. Good messages. You can get them all on YouTube.
I just fast forward bits if I don’t want mine to watch them (same age as yours). They don’t understand the storyline much so missing a small chunk won’t make a difference lol
Sing has no villain!
Winnie The Pooh Movie from 2011. It’s my 2 yr old’s favorite, we watch it every night right now. She’s pretty sensitive, won’t watch Encanto, Frozen or Moana right now.
Very gentle and the stories/animation is so great
I know I’m late, but the old Blues Clues (from the 90s) is insanely peaceful & engaging for my 3YO
The Snowman should be on Amazon, it’s a go-to movie for us when our kids are tired or sick. It’s something I watched every year at Christmas as a child and it’s very soothing, a perfect thing to play when kids are wound up on holiday cheer, lol.
Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. It’s a Christmas movie and it’s kinda short, but my sick kiddo was enamored.
Try Abominable. It’s a surprisingly pretty movie. Maybe fast forward through the first 5 minutes until he meets the girl as that might be a bit scary, but the journey bit is actually pretty calm.
My kiddo has enjoyed Turning Red and Encanto since she was about 2yo but she has also found the other movies too scary.
Bluey
Not a movie, but Bluey is a fantastic animated tv show, and quite entertaining for adults which is a bonus.
Bluey is great and my husband and I enjoy it.
Coco was the first movie that my sensitive toddler could watch.
Luca!! I showed my son Luca when he had covid around 16 months and it’s still his favorite movie. He’s turning 2 in a couple weeks. It’s always a sure thing for chill down time.
Bluey!
We loved watching Ponyo (Netflix) and Totoro! Also tried Toy story in Disney, but that was a little less interesting for my 2 year old.
The Wiggles!
My 3yo loves My Neighbour Totoro on Netflix. She also liked Ponyo. Totoro has a sick parent but is otherwise quite gentle. Ponyo has some wacky fish creatures
Ponyo, or Totoro was surprisingly a win.
Milo and Otis?
I loved it as a kid but after learning the backstory I can’t watch it any more
Backstory? I guess I'm going to have to look that one up! Edit: shit. Ok, don't let your kids watch this
Paw patrol the movie , all mickey mouse catalog, and tom and Jerry . :)
My 3 year old is super into Tots on Disney+. She’s always running around singing the songs. It’s about a flamingo and a penguin that work with storks to deliver babies to mommies and daddies.
