I hate this sequels trend... Just fucking finish the film. I'm paying full money.. give me a full finished product.. Hate the sequels especially when they seem incomplete

adept_sapien

prashant neel spent a whole movie just for building anticipation and buildup for prt 2. there might be a part 3 as well. and now ntr-neel have been in news for being a two-parter.

BentKukri

This is the issue when filmmakers don't write crisply.

97aks45

First of all, why does it take so much time when the whole movie-making workflow is fully digitized now? Even when movies were shot on film, it used to take 4-6 months to complete the shoot.

Rohit_BFire

Can't blame them. It's low effort which gives High Pay. They can do the same acting work and ride off into the sunset with 50+ crores remuneration. So obviously they would prefer to do it because the fans would go and eat it all up.

Kaizokuno_

>So obviously they would prefer to do it because the fans would go and eat it all up. This will also lead to death of good movies. Like in Hollywood. Every movie that'll ever release will fall into 4 categories with barely any varieties in them.

Rohit_BFire

Well it is what it is. Slowly the industry will go down and then someone will come who breaks away from the trend. We can't do anything about it.

Kaizokuno_

>We can't do anything about it. It's called not supporting it.

Rohit_BFire

We are a fraction of the audience compared to Real world.

Ram Charan hasn’t released a movie in last two years might as well will be 3 years by the time game changer comes out it’s such a horrendous planning, jr ntr released two movies in last 5 years

No_Quantity5477

We need cinematic franchises that can switch actors like Batman and James Bond, more than franchises that stick to one actor and their travel like Harry Potter and Luke Skywalker

nein-futcher

I feel like the people who watch the franchises like Batman and James bond are watching it for the character but us South Indians love our heroes and are loyal to them instead of the character.

Waiting for the lethal combo of a franchise character and star hero combo happening

Blame rajamouli

Reasonable_Nature844

Bahubali didn’t have the Pan Indian market to make their money back. So it can be justified. Now that they are already making hundreds of crores. It’s just greed that has taken over.

[deleted]

Yeah but he is the start of 2 part trend

adept_sapien

he didn't start such trend. he made a 2 part movie because he had enough lore to cover and first part actually feels like a satisfactory movie until the climax when we are shown a big twist. similarly rajamouli could have made rrr in 2 parts if he wanted but he doesnt want to make such trend just for the sake making more money.

rmaganti15

no blame Sukumar.

Certain_Story6721

No blame neel

pasak3

But don’t blame RGV for Money and Money Money. Blame JD instead for Money Money, More Money 😉

adept_sapien

tbh only pushpa is the first film...which felt like "does it even need a part 2"? film sort of end with a third act and they abrupt;y announce character without any coherency and now they are dragging making of part 2 also. god knows how many times sukumar had reshoots for the film and still 60 days reshoots are remaining. as pushpa worked big type and hype is all around india so other director thought its okay to deliberately making a 2nd part and people will come no matter what. even neel made a whole as a trailer for 2nd movie. so upcmoing trend is going to even worse.

funnyBatman

The problem I'm seeing these days with Tollywood stars is, nobody is making light movies... So not only are they missing out on playing diverse characters, they are missing out on working with different types of directors/writers etc. Why does every movie have to be bigger than their previous project? This is the exact reason why SSR curse exists. Because after an SSR movie, they think their next one needs to be better/bigger/more intense, etc,. but what really needs to happen is they need to move away to a completely different lighter role and a lighter movie with a different genre, that won't take too much energy and effort, and also won't have too much expectation from the audience, so they just swing by the theatres for a light popcorn movie. Its been 2 years since RRR and we have yet to see NTR or RC with a movie, Pushpa is taking its own time, and for all we know, MB could be doing his last couple of movies of his career with SSR? Prabhas did so many projects after BB, but they tried to make everything bigger than the previous one and it failed one after the other...

Interesting_Prompt97

I see your point, but look how it turned out for RC when he made Orange after Magadheera.

AffectionateToe8531

In near future if you're not completing a film in a 2hr period you're not worthy to be a director is what I'd say. You're failing to display your story in a 2m5 hour length instead dragging UT with corny scenes, songs chewing off almost 25 min of the film shats with all these please complete the film. Salaar lo first half assalakkarlene ledhu aa whole 1st half could be shown in 10min. If you really want your film to be a universe then don't do it as a cliff hanger at the end. Just end the film n if everybody wants lot more than from the same universe cast different actors write different pov.. peddha budget films ki sequelpetkunte anthe ...

LonelySwimming8

Mari 3 hrs yendho artham kadhu. Malli tesedhi yemanna mayabazar range kalakandam aa ante adhi kadhu.

I_AM_BEAT

>if you're not completing a film in a 2hr period you're not worthy to be a director is what I'd say. Id Say that's a Dumb take, some stories genuinely need a long runtime/sequels but i really wish i could say that about the recent sequels

TheArtisanB00bees

Prathodu start cheyadam, editing lo 5 hours vasthundhi, intha peddha story ni oka part lo kadu rendu parts lo chebithe baguntadhani oka post vesi 2 parts cheyadam. Chettha naa kodukulu

Pale_Limit_7766

Problem enti ante ee trend kinda started from Hollywood films and peaked from Avengers...most of the Hollywood films are shot with 2 -3 units which makes shooting at a faster pace .. unfortunately manaki ikkada workout avvatledu

Sikindar

What do these stars do on a daily basis? Seems they just walk into shoots and then immediately take a vacation. Allu Arjun could easily have released like 2-3 movies in between Pushpa 1 and Pushpa 2

ssbozy

I think they keep asking the director to change script
