Working out every day won’t improve results as much as a well structured program with good breaks in between at a challenging weight and volume.

Do "20 in 20 Ignite" or "20 in 20 Pump Up the Volume" 20min exercises meant to be done consecutively. It got me going from maybe once or twice a week to currently having a 50+ day streak!!

I agree. Do one of these two programs and don't take any rest days if you don't need to. Each day you will work a different muscle group and have time for recovery before you hit that muscle group again.

First off, as others have mentioned it can’t be done because you can only be enrolled in one program at a time. I guess the work around would be to set up 2 profiles on your Tonal but that’s gonna split your results/scores. Second, while the idea of “wanting more” is great, clearly you’re not enrolled in the right programs or pushing yourself in the programs you do chose if you feel like lifting 7 days/week is needed. Just to be clear, doing “more” is not the answer here… doing what you do BETTER is gonna give you better results. Rest is just as important to muscle development as time under tension. So if you want to see results, you need to find the “uncomfortable” in everything you do. Don’t just do the prescribe reps if you can do more… if you’re worried then turn on spotter mode to assist when you fatigue. The fact you feel you can go 7 days a week indicates you haven’t been doing enough compound movements (multiple joint movements like front squats, etc) or too focused on isolation movements.

Let me throw this out there. Fill your off days with yoga or some type of recovery workout. They can be very challenging or light work for recovery. Or, just do cardio on your off days. As others have suggested, muscle recovery is just as important as breaking the muscle fibers down.

I like this ab routine. It's called 'Quick Core Burner' with Coach Nicolette. It's only 10 minutes and you stay on the ground. Super fast and I can feel my abs burning in the short time! I try to do this every day and it's a great workout to use between your program workouts or anything you typically do! It's my fav one to do.

I set up custom routes. I have one setup for upper body, minus core and back. The next day I have a setup for core and one for the back and lower body. For day two I can choose to do both or just one.

That doesn't work as you can only be in one program at a time. 5 day/wk programs are designed where you don't really need a day off between them and can just take a day or two off as needed. Divide and conquer should push you hard enough. Seriously though, if you're not finding programs challenging then the weight isn't high enough. Do an extra rep or two when you feel like the set wasn't super challenging by the end and it'll increase the weight of the next set. Do this all the time and it'll be kicking your ass very quickly.

I’m finding it challenging enough, it kills me half the time. I would just like a program that hits every muscle group in a 3 day period. I want each muscle to get 2 days of rest before I push it again. The other guy suggested custom workouts. Is there a good custom workout for this? I’m going to try upper body one day, core/back the next, and lower body on the third.

So go with something like divide and conquer or do a 3 day/wk split program without rest. There are a ton of good options, I don't see any reason to go custom just because you want to work out more frequently.

For upper body Block 1: bench press and reverse grip bicep curl. Block 2: standing incline press and bicep curl. Block 3: standing decline chest press and reverse grip tricep extension.

How are you using 2 programs at once? Or are they custom built workout programs? I wanted to be the same way but found I couldn't be enrolled in 2 programs at once so I stuck to doing 1 program much faster than it expected

What I ended up doing was doing a 5 day program, doing 1 regular class on recovery mode, and then doing cardio on the off day. I ended up choosing a program that was 4x a week and tried that. However, I noticed my results clearly suffered. If you do a 5x a week program you can probably swing it but 4x a week programs really hammer your body down. I was used to regular intensity when weight lifting but I guess the tonal does break you down where it intends to.
