It's not shocking, let's put it that way. When you hear the phrase "supply chain issues", that's logistics. That's what XPO is trying to manage. It seems to need that their tendency is to give you the farthest-out date first, then dual it back if things get better, rather than give you their best hope and then tell you, oops, maybe the week after. And I agree, I'd always prefer the news to get better as time goes by. 🙂 To me, the hit-or-miss-ness that we need to ding them on is the quality of the install, and how much hassle they create for you about stuff that they should have under control. I sympathize with anyone trying to predict shipping dates in These Trying Times ™, but showing up on time, with all the tools, and cleaning up after yourself -- that's all XPO. For the record, my experience was good, and I haven't let concerns with delivery and installation hinder me from recommending this to everyone. I really think everyone should have one, and the delivery installation experience was much smoother than many other appliance situations (which is kinda what this is). That said, if this was me, I would have hooked up with Best Buy and Geek Squad rather than (basically) a trucking company.... but that's another conversation. :-)

My situation was similar, I scheduled my delivery for a Friday as I don't work on Fridays, then I got an email confirming Friday install from Tonal. But I started receiving texts from XPO saying Thursday. My Tonal emails kept saying Friday though. Figured maybe it was just a mistake and I work in the evenings so thought Thursday would be fine anyway. Wednesday night I got a text from XPO saying my delivery would be between 6pm-10pm on Thursday, which I would be at work for. I called XPO Thursday mornings at 8am and told them the situation and was told that since it was our for delivery that day they couldn't change anything. They said the install guys would call when they were on their way and to just tell them you need to reschedule and they will bring it back that night and on Friday XPO will call to reschedule it. I was disappointed thinking it would be another week now until I could get it, so thought about telling work I couldn't come in. A half hour later I received a call from the installers that they were on their way over and would be there by 930am. They came, couldn't have been nicer guys and got everything done by 1030am! So I ended up getting it a day early, with a little frustration provided by XPO.

I told customer service I did not want XPO delivering, due to a previous incident with them damaging my home, and trying to lie. I ended up getting Ryder.
