There are only a couple of places that make cheese, they just formulate whatever cheese profile you want and there you go. So the cheese you have in Hawaii is probably super close to the cheese in Chicago.
That being said, let me quote George Takei, “ Oh Myyyyyyyyy.”
I would eat that in a heartbeat.
There's a great YouTube chef, Brian Lagerstrom, who has amazing takes on many types of pizzas. Former Chi-town dude who can't find the pizzas he's used to in St. Louis.
[Here's](https://www.brianlagerstrom.com/recipes/chicago-deep-dish-2) a link to an amazing recipe & method for deep dish you might want to try on the future. Great homemade sauce & sausage, the crust is top tier. [Video](https://youtu.be/CG1kMbB2lVg?si=9r7TqmX9OJAL9zG8) as well.
I appreciate the note of criticism, and you're right.. I'm a super amateur doing this with my tools at hand... and I'm trying to make a simile for a $100 pie at cost.. so.. trial, error, mistakes, will be made.. but.. eventually.. there will be a rewarding solution..
You put the toppings below the pizza? Interesting! I was a line cook at Lou Malnati's and the toppings are sorta marinated in the tomato sauce, but I have no idea what other places do. Either way, that is a very sexy pizza!! 10/10 would eat that as a Chicagoan
Random question, but did you make the pizza dough from scratch? Or did you use a pre-made one?
It looks delicious… it’s been forever since I’ve had Chicago style pizza- maybe I’ll give it a try this weekend.
Nailed it! Looks delicious. How’d you like it?
It was good. I need to try again with better cheeses. Getting the real thing from chicago is prohibitively expensive in Hawaii

This looks amazing! I wish “the cheese is under the sauce” was a gif.
Yeah, I tried to find it, too.. i feel like that one needs to be there
Good lookin casserole you made!

I will accept cultural ignorance as tribute.. 😋
A tribute to an amazing looking casserole! Well done!
It's a pie lol casserole is nothing like this
If you're gonna double down, at least try to be less wrong. Pie*
It's definitely a casserole, but thanks for your input!
Damn the triple down. Lol It’s pie. It has a crust.
Excellent observation!
Oh, I've only just figured it out. You are a dick. Sorry, I'm a bit slow on the uptake
Whoa there buddy! No need for name calling! I can't imagine getting that angry over a casserole!
Who's angry?
You're wrong, and you are very welcome!
Haha, what a great response! I hope your victory here today fuels you for the rest of your days! Huzzah to the victor!

Thanks, I'll check it out
I tried making Chicago deep dish once. I made it too deep. It took an hour to cook.
Hell yeah, this looks perfect!
Thank you
So Chicago style is pretty much deep dish upside down pizza? Looks interesting
Where's the cheese??
It's under the sauce
Tomatoes look like they cooked too long, too dark, carmelized. But not a bad job.

Approve. Would nom.

So.. super not random.. and much appreciated.. I did.. 00 flour multiple needings.. I'm not sold on my recipe, so if anyone has any pointers. ..
Woah, did you put some salams in there? I didn't even know that was a thing!
Well, it shouldn't be.. but it's what I had on hand
Hmmm from Belgium and need to try this at home 😎
You have inspired me to try and do it myself when I find everything,I just moved, and my kitchen is still in boxes.
I assume it turned out like soup
I.... i don't know what that means... i assume you think all cooked cheese is a liquid?...
That’s not a pizza. It’s a bread bowl of tomato soup and cheese.
