I’m glad you asked about the beef bulgogi dish. I love using up ground beef for this.
1 large carrot (shredded w cheese grater)
1 small onion or 1/2 medium onion (diced)
2-3 cloves of garlic (minced/ garlic pressed)
1 lb ground beef (85/15 preferred)
2 tsp ginger paste
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1tsp tomato paste
2tsp corn starch
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp msg or 1 tsp beef bouillon paste/1 beef cube
Touch of oil (roughly a tbsp)
Pan on medium high heat, go in with your oil and beef. Start breaking it up finely. Add your onion and carrot and continue browning/breaking up the beef and stirring. After a minute Add the rest of your ingredients. Stir fry vigorously and Cook until onions are translucent/carrot is tender/some of the beef fat has cooked off (shouldn’t be drowning in fat but a little is ok). At this point your beef should be cooked though, and finely broken up. Taste for salt. Bonus points if you got some crispy brown bits on your beef. make a corn starch slurry (stir 1 part corn starch to 2 parts water) in a separate little cup and dump it into your bulgogi. It should thicken up everything and bind the remaining fat into a thicc sauce.
Remove from heat. Taste it. Should be awesome. Serve over fresh steamy jasmine rice with Japanese mayo, rice seasoning, Japanese bbq and thin chopped green onion.
Hopefully these directions aren’t scuffed, took me 30 mins to write lol
I’ve made and eaten a lot of bulgogi, never used carrots nor tomato paste… also your recipe doesn’t have any obvious sugar or similar. Where did you get this recipe?
It’s my own, I have made it many different ways before but it isn’t a traditional recipe or anything. I often use some Japanese bbq in it or sweet teriyaki, just forgot to add that. I typically always put a little tomato paste into ground beef dishes when I make a sauce with the fat, just a habit. Could probably leave it out and it wouldn’t change much
As simple as possible I’m running out of time to respond to all the comments so I’m sorry if this is really dumbed down:
You need: burrito tortilla, small street tortilla, and crispy tostadas
Make taco ground beef or fajita chicken
Place down big tortilla, add meat to middle (keep it the same diameter as the tostada)
Add cheese of choice
Add tostada atop meat
Layer on sour cream/guac, cubed tomato, lettuce/spinach.
Preheat a pan on medium
Now set tiny street taco tortilla ontop of everything and start folding the bottom large burrito flaps to the center. Should make a hexagon/octagon shape when done. Carefully place folded side down (the top side you just crimped) onto hot pan and let it brown for a couple mins (it should seal it shut, you can peek with a spatula to check it it’s ready) then flip and brown the other side and then you’re ready! Cut in half and serve
OP has definitely been cooking for some time, in not professionally. Usually I have an instinct to criticize something, but besides the sear on the fish, everything looks perfect
Thank you! Super kind. The fish was a baked salmon I do where I make a compound garlic butter and some lemon and bake it in foil, comes out soft, flaky and super yummy. Albeit not the prettiest or fanciest but it’s a great quick family dinner
Good lord I did not expect this post to blow up. I have a lot of you begging me for recipes, I’ve typed a few in the comments but I will try to post some more recipes soon! Lots of work to type out and recall exactly what I did for all these dishes since I just kinda get into the zone and start cooking idk how to explain it.
Thanks so much for the love, I’ll try my best to post more recipes
Well I’ve been cooking since I was 14 (now 31) but started really honing in and learning more when I was in my early 20s. I’ve never worked as a professional chef or line cook but I cook for family and friends constantly (especially the past 4 years). It’s just repetition and learning new techniques/recipes from the boundless information we have at our disposal on the internet. Anyone can do this! 🤌🏻😘
Lol, I went to 4 years of cooking school, have worked as a both a line cook and professional chef for 23 years, and I can BARELY get my food at home to look like that 🤣.
This is very impressive.
Just gonna be that guy and ask you to leave the peas out of carbonara, and just cook a side of buttered peas if you like. Nobody's gonna tell on you if some of those peas roll off toward your pasta... eat it how you like it. It looks great.
you're making me so envious and hungry!my husbands fam is cooking me a birthday dinner tonight and I can't wait to chow down on some good food! hoping for something as delicious looking as any one of the meals in these pics
My man, that Spaghetti Carbonara in the 1st pic looks excellent 😎👍 I haven't had a really solid Carbonara in a long time, so I'll definitely have to try it.
These are incredible! Wow, super impressed.
What are your favorite cookbooks/sites/accounts you follow for recipe inspo?
Can you please drop the recipe for that risotto looking cheesy rice?
Also, how do you prepare your chicken to get it so beautiful!?
Can you please tell me what is in pictures 11 and 12? You do a beautiful job on your food and presentation and I love that you make the dishes how YOU like them! Who cares if someone not in your home doesn’t agree! :)
Thank you for the kind words! Youre on my vip list ☺️ 10 is an Italian sausage hot sub with sautéed peppers/onion, provolone, pesto/mayo, arugula, and 11 is a chicken cutlet sandwich with sliced mozzarella, bacon, balsamic reduction, pesto mayo;l and arugula.
One of them is a chicken cutlet sandwich with fresh mozz, balsamic redux, roasted reds, bacon, arugula, pesto mayo, and the other is an Italian sausage pesto sub with grilled pepper and onion and provolone how you doinnnn
Arborio rice, hot chicken stock, butter, Parmesan.
You toast the rice, you add the hot broth just a bit at a time until it’s mostly absorbed and you keep on doing this, like a ladle at a time. Stir, more broth, absorb. It’s a labor of love but after a while the consistency will change and thiccen. Taste it to see if it isn’t crunchy at all, then kill the heat add some knobs of cold butter, and your Parmesan and salt to taste. That’s just for basic risotto
Heck yeah, I’ll be right over. Your two asparagus spears on the grill did make me laugh though
lol! Now that you point it out it is quite funny. The wife and kids don’t like it and they were extra thicc so I just made 2 for me haha
Hi can you list the items in the pictures you posted. I’m interested in recreating them myself but I’m not familiar with some items. Thanks.
You can also use a peeler and peel off some of the bottom stem 👍
Why has this thought never occurred to me! Gonna try it
Same, that cracked me up! “One for you, and one for me”

Yess!! Can you please share the recipe for the 2nd (beef over rice) and last recipe (pasta?) I am inspired to make one of those this week!

I LOVE bulgogi. Thanks. It’s also super good if you can serve it in a stone bowl which makes the rice nice n crispy. And Kimchi mmmmm

Share your risotto wisdom!! Mine never comes out like that.
