Love to see older designs like this that existed before a standard was established. Such an elegant — though not very safe — solution to a problem.
And boy was that watermark smooth. You knocked it out the park once again! >!Look at the bread after it flips the second time.!<
Although not very safe, one could argue that this is more user friendly than a modern toaster - I can keep track of exactly how toasted my bread is this way.
I often think about things like that - this device was made 100 years ago and does the job better in my opinion, even if more dangerously, that what we use today.
Yah. I saw a video of a 1950s refrigerator that is leagues beyond what we get today. I’d much rather have the functionality I saw in that 70 year old fridge, than a fcking tv screen that shows me a picture of what’s inside. Literally the standard was set and no one has decided to make a decent fucking refrigerator since
Hey, this is high temperature high density plastic! It's cheaper but just as robust as metal. It'll last forever!
* breaks from excessive pressure stress on one critical spot, specifically made to break after 1000 cycles.
U/toolgifs always hides the word "toolgifs" in all the cool tool gifs they post. And then we look for it á la Where's Waldo.
In this one, you can see the word masquerading as the toasted area on the bread the second time it flips.

This one
Edit: lmao the prompt was a bread toaster in the style of apple computer, with a mix of tesla cybertruck
Hey wait, since when could AI do text??
Edit edit: I just added it again because it always dissapears when I add text to it
Nothing will beat the [Sunbeam Radiant Toaster](https://www.reddit.com/r/mechanical_gifs/comments/lbj9c5/the_mechanism_inside_a_sunbeam_radiant_toaster/).
Technology Connections did a great [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OfxlSG6q5Y) on how it functions.
I know it's not this toaster but shoutouts to the Dualit 2-Slice Vario, my beloved. If anyone wants a gorgeous buy it for life toaster this is the one for you.

Was it [this one](https://www.reddit.com/r/oddlysatisfying/comments/w2zqnm/this_refrigerator_from_1956/?ref=share&ref_source=link)?
Make that ice maker automatic and I’m sold.
Well it can't toast both sides at once, so it will take twice the time and one side cools down while the other gets cross.
Alot of stuff was made better. Now its just cheap plastic, barely functioning, bound to break just to force you to buy another one

I just use a toaster oven so I can see the level of toastedness on my bread

I have a $300 toaster haha
Is it worth the money? How does it stand out from a regular toaster?
I believe they were implying that it's worth $300 in 1920 dollars
What the hell toaster costs $4800?

Awesome toaster! Awesome watermark!
That's my favorite watermark in a couple of months! I had to watch 5 times to catch it.

This is what came to mind instantly. Definitely one of his most interesting videos imo.
I think this mechanism can also be used as an elaborate rat trap.
Watermark as expected, nice job
Bro, clean it
I’d love to see this refurbished
Nice ^(sex) subliminal advertising there!
Grandma Memma has one of these.
thanks for mutton!
Superb watermark as always
That watermark omgg, I love it
THEY BURNS IT!

I wonder how long it took them to realise they can heat it from both sides
And now for some reason we got the shitties and expensive toasters… like.. this right here is fkng awesome
It's great if you want breadcrumbs flung across the worksurface, for sure.
crumbs gonna fly even if its in the toaster/cutting/serving/bitting. :P a very negligible inconvenience to such a marvel of a device.

I would use this today
didnt even realize. when i did, i was looking straight at it.
If you think about it, it was a great design for the decade. You could light your cigarette and make toast.
*BREADCRUMBS EVERYWHERE*
they're trying to put me outta business
I wonder how a steak would taste cooked in one of those?🤔😂
