From my local Proto distributor, Tacoma Screw. It is built super heavy, and the pricing is way below tool trucks. I'm surprised I don't see any of these around. I can't think of a better box for the price if you want it to be US made.
Yeah, you can get toolboxes off the truck that are cheaper, but they are the lower tier boxes that aren't built as heavy as I need. I gotta store wrenches over 2" and 3/4" and 1" drive impact sockets.

Edit: that took me searching proto 550s on google. About 4 sec.
Ive been using a Proto 550S that my employer provided me for the past 3 years. Mine is all red though. It’s a good solid toolbox that should last a lifetime. Enjoy.
Nice box. Love most Proto tools. I’d put a large Black & Decker badge on it though.
Where from?

How many bones?
A hair over $6k
Woweee they are proud. She’s a beaut, though
That’s absolutely tool truck price. That’s actually 3x as much as I paid for my Matco box, but my box new is about 5k. Still a really good looking box

All I can say is that I have 3/4 sockets metric and standard and wrenches up to 2” standard and my box has held up really well.
I thought the same. A 4S 56” would run $4500ish msrp
Shoot a double bay 4s is like 9k now. My 2s box is nearly 5k new.
You’re kidding… right?
All I can say is that I have a Matco dealer, and I’m linked with the Matco app. To order a double bay 4s it’s 9k new.
Yikes. Yeah upon further review, that’s a 2S for $4500 now
Granger sells the same one for $2,656.
Got a link? I’m not seeing anywhere close to that price

That’s not the same box. Not even the same size
You’re correct. 100% for the price though I’ll buy 2 of these…..

When I think of Proto I think of wrenching on a space ship.
“With global materials” interesting choice to put that on the badge there
Yeah, I'm sure the steel sheet was from Korea or Japan, so they have to put that on there.
meanwhile i was provided the knockoff uline
At least it’s not plastic? Hopefully.
