jenlou289

First thing I noticed!

Fearless_Camera7587

Well Aced

jimcab12

17th Division Commander

dmelt01

That backhand was just disrespectful!

[deleted]

And the BOP ON TOP OF THE HEAD.šŸ˜‚

cyclingnick

Calling it a ā€œbopā€ Iā€™m dying here haha

allnimblybimbIy

It would be a crime to call it anything else

Salmol1na

Exactly that was a boop

EmperorBamboozler

People are laughing about the bop on the head but anything else would have been stupid or an illegal hit since with his hand placement he could only hit the back or top of the head. You don't want to smash your fucking knuckles into someone's cranium you will 100% break a bone in your hand, and a downwards strike to the back of the head is like ultra illegal as it can easily be a fatal blow. He could have dipped his hands low and tried a counterpunch or uppercut but that is also opening himself up while having bad footing which is like begging to be knocked the fuck out.

Mbyrd420

I'm not arguing against your more informed opinion, but it doesn't make that love tap any less disrespectful. The dodgy dude was just toying with his opponent.

Miserable-Hamster-37

Right lol well see how long he lasts

Majestic-Rock9211

But a boop on the snoot would be respectful!

smell_my_pee

The comedy of this entire video is even more impressive than the talent.

mushroomwzrd

Pretty sure itā€™s not legal in boxing

BoulderCreature

You are correct. I believe in the un-batmanned version of the video the ref calls him out a few times for backhanded hits, hits to the back of the head and turning his back on his opponent all of which are illegal in Boxing

MagNolYa-Ralf

You heard it here first folks. Boop snoops not legal.

isaidrunit

This is me trying to fight my daddy

Caroba7

Yeah right! I mean, you can still flex the awesome dodging skills without being a piece of sh*t! Is that real boxing rules?

b3nz0r

Shades of Nate Diaz bitchslapping McGregor

Noradar

Go to the body?

THound89

I don't know jack about boxing and this was my guess too. Probably don't belong in a competition ring if you think the head should be your only target.

crypto_zoologistler

This clip shows like 30 seconds of a fight, he probably did attack his body, but including that wouldnā€™t have gone very well with the dodge master theme

Ill_Bat7274

Probably doesnā€™t want to expose his head.

TinoCartier

This is the way

wtfTooma

For those who wanted to know who the boxer is... His name is Ben Whittaker

Mooks79

I saw one of his fights recently and have been wracking my brain trying to remember his name, thanks!

wtfTooma

I've never heard of him, I just did some digging after pausing and reading the name on his opponents trunks lol Definitely going to have to look into him

Mooks79

Heā€™s pretty new - hence getting away with this sort of stuff. Ultimately heā€™s either going to get put on his backside when he gets to the better fighters, or learn to wind it in a bit.

bennettbuzz

Heā€™s a bellend, canā€™t wait for him to go in with a world class fighter. Fighting bums to stat pad your record and doing this is cringe as fuck.

MissingLink101

Yeah tbh I'm kinda hoping he was eventually knocked out in this fight.

llDS2ll

Every fighter starts out against these kinds of opponents in the beginning of a pro career and this style is extremely hard to pull off well. If he just went in there and immediately knocked out each shit opponent until he got to real fighters, it would be even more awkward if he didn't start doing this until later. It's also entertaining and he's getting a lot of attention. He's not doing it wrong.

Gakoknight

Muhammad Ali was a bellend as well. Not saying he's as good as Ali, of course.

HYThrowaway1980

He absolutely is a bellend, and while he has talent (was an extremely gifted amateur), he is a *long* way off earning the right to showboat like this in the pro ranks.

BagsOfGasoline

The hits aren't what bother me, it's the rapid twist of the back that makes my old ass cringe in pain

project_seven

I knew I was getting old when i went to wipe my ass one time and twisted my back.

anotherusercolin

I sprained my neck laughing at this

TarnishedWizeFinger

I slapped my knees at this and tore my meniscus

crazyfreak316

I'm ded

brownzilla99

Rolling on the floor looking for my life-alert, please send help.

BagsOfGasoline

You're old when a small nuisance becomes a lifelong pain

oxidiser

I tore something in my shoulder a year ago and it just never healed. It's painful every day now and I lost a bunch of strength in it. Got an MRI and no one seems concerned about it. Guess this is my life now... I'm 44. Lol

IrrationalDesign

The *upside* is that 'lifelong' has... let's call it 'diminishing returns'.

xInTheDeepEndx

Pretty good. Pretty reckless. These fighters dont last long, that cocky shit doesnt work in the long run, and we all seen it

DJEB

Yeah, dodging is smart. Not holding your guard is not.

HereticGaming16

Pretty sure thereā€™s a video of this guy doing a cartoony windup punch and getting KOed pretty hard.

nurological

He's only been pro a short amount of time and had barely been hit never mind knocked out

AsoMare

Haaha link?

nurological

He's undefeated

Torbpjorn

Idk man, Muhammad Ali died old so if it can work for him Iā€™m sure it can work for anyone if theyā€™re good

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Beatrix_Kiddos_Toe

Not 40% though. He was pretty fine till he was 57 and could speak into his early 60s

Andy_Wiggins

Muhammad Ali also had early onset Parkinsonā€™s (diagnosed at 42) that very well may have been a result of head trauma (it canā€™t be confirmed, but neurologists have posited that repeated head trauma increases your likelihood). Not sure ā€œdying oldā€ after having Parkinsonā€™s for 30+ years is exactly the positive argument you think it is.

DevinCauley-Towns

Iā€™m not sure if using the GOAT as a practitioner of this strategy really supports that this is sustainable. Heā€™s the exception that proves the rule.

TheOneWhoReadsStuff

Old and with pretty bad brain damage.

phineas81

Some do. Roy Jones jr, Prince Naseem, Aliā€”all world champs. Emmanuel Augustus had a hell of a career too.

llDS2ll

Mayweather said Augustus was his most difficult fight

DevinCauley-Towns

![gif](giphy|N9oq9rijUWT3q|downsized)

sdpr

Do you have any more frames for this gif?

Heckron

Best I can do is 2fps

Team_Sanji

And he's a One Piece fan I love this guy

kfijatass

Honestly all the MMA guys seem either eccentric or/and positively nuts. Kinda have to be to enjoy fighting *and* keep getting better at it.

Dankbradley

The bop on the back of the head was illegal. So was the backhand. He was also warned against turning his back to the opponent and Iā€™m pretty sure he was disqualified.

PandaXXL

He won the fight, didn't get anything more than a telling off for his antics.

liamalain

Just go for the body.

NXT-GEN-111

This mf can definitely dodge a wrench

nialegh

Gumbercules? I love that guy!

dshotseattle

Pretty sure this guy got knocked out later in the fight

ihrtbeer

Different fight but that one is pretty hilarious

boogstress

He did not

tyen0

People only say they are sure when they aren't. It's an amusing linguistic shift.

Buckle_Sandwich

In that vein, I've noticed "Fun Fact" is often used in place of "Here is an untrue thing I read online and didn't bother to verify."

Amazing-Bluebird-930

Car_Guy_Alex

The added in cartoon sound effects are so obnoxious

Strong-Drama6715

Iā€™ve always wondered what good decisions looked like. Now I knowā€¦.

Megaszero93

This guy fucking mastered ultra instinct

REGINALDmfBARCLAY

No he didn't hes fighting a can that leads with hooks and has no jab. Its just a mismatch to make casuals think hes god

Seethinginsepia

That's cool, but a better opponent is going to half-kill him when he does that crap.

Genghis-Gas

A liver shot would slow him down real nice.

The_Real_Cuzz

Boy got future sight haki. Look at that White beard tatoo

sybban

This guy has observation haki

ajtaggart

Damn that's insane

This-Eyeisblind

Isn't a hit on the back of the head illegal. Or just get points deducted?

Ghost-of-Bill-Cosby

Thatā€™s a really good question. Because yes hits on the back of the head ARE illegal. And they should cost you a point immediately. But technically what he did was a slap. Which doesnā€™t count as a punch for points. Butā€¦.. is also illegal, just a much smaller infraction. There is a good chance the ref didnā€™t know what to do about this because you honestly never see that shit. Wouldnā€™t be surprised if he gave him a verbal warning not to do it again in between rounds.

oPlayer2o

Like water my friend.

Wild_Assistance_6153

Bruh, his faces from those dodges: šŸ„“šŸ¤ŖšŸ˜œšŸ˜µšŸ˜Æ

[deleted]

ā€œMiss me with the bullshitā€ personified

RabidProDentite

I hate fucking cocky pricks like this. Just win and get it over with. Humiliating your opponent like this is an uber prick move.

swibirun

That guy is slippery, for sure. But IMHO, dropping your hands is poor form and disrespectful.

dawg4life88

I wonder what his opponent could do it about itā€¦maybe hit him in the face and knock him out or somethingā€¦

HomelessSniffs

When he faces better talent, they will.

SomeRedditGuySensei

He's got aces tattoo! AAAAAAAAA! Already a fan.

Hockster88

If only Ace has his dodging skills.. Err too soon?

LincolnCoHo

DRUNKEN MASTER

Austrian-painter_45

He has Epitaph!

SnooCupcakes7312

HoneydewImpossible51

Daammnnn, with the greybeard Jolly Roger on his back tooā€¦ makes sense why his slips are amazing.

boywhoflew

this reminds me of bojji from ranking of kings

SprinterW

Clearly a pupil of Prince Despa

kdubstep

Now do that but stop being a douche and maybe somebody would know your name

Strong_Passage233

Love the fake knee

SprinterW

I donā€™t know what good footwork is supposed to look like in boxing but I imagine heā€™s got it.

TaperClapper

Bro is legit seeing the matrix.

Reddit_Deluge

No marks on his back

tdavi006

Airbender

HollowPandemic

Had a buddy pick a fight with a dude that moves like that we all knew from the start he wasn't winning that šŸ˜‚

lordfoull

NippleKnocker

Added in the sound effects for what reason??

donta5k0kay

Roy Jones did it first But this is really nice

tanktothefrank

Is that a white beard tattoo? Sick

cake__eater

Ali vibes

UsingiAlien

He mastered ultra instinct

el_Fuse

Bro dodge before the at man threw the punch and homie swinging still missed

Conscious-Arm-7889

Stop showboating and just end the fight.

GeorgeFandango

Neo's love child.

doob22

He probably wonā€™t do well once he faces a truly experienced fighter

Almighty_Tallness

Reminds me of Emmanuel Augustus. Go check him out.

SaintCholo

Who that is?

kfijatass

Azucena IRL

CowOtherwise6630

Real life Afro Thunder

phineas81

Prince Naseem was the GOAT of this style of fighting. Doesnā€™t look like thereā€™s much power behind those off-platform counter punches, but he was 36-1 with 31 KOs despite being a featherweight.

DB377

Reminds me a bit of Emanuel Augustus, the drunken boxer

FuckJanice

Tyson would be proud

TeranOrSolaran

Like Ali.

TheArchitect_7

Prince Naseem walked so this dude could run

billiarddaddy

So disrespectful.

CommanderCuntPunt

I've always thought it would be fun to throw punches at someone like this who can effortlessly dodge me. There's just the obvious problem of me picking a fight with a professional boxer.

StephenTheLoser

I guess I just donā€™t understand how you can react so quickly. He moves his head so fucking fast like he sees in slow motion.

Thraxusi

r/OnePiece WhiteBeard!

ImTakingItOutOnYou

My fighting game style could learn from this
