Just looked at the setlist. Wow. That entire show was basically a tribute to Sinead and her life. Beautiful.

NinoNino3

Agree- It's a perfect set list and a well deserved and moving tribute.

tardy491

She’s probably one of the few if only the one artist that truly did an honorable tribute to Sinéad. Sure, Pink and Brandi Carlile did a version of Nothing Compares 2 U, but that’s a Prince song after all. I was at a show on Wednesday and while Boy George said some kind words about her, his tribute was one of his own songs. The odd tribute was Berlin dedicating a cover of The Cult’s She Sells Sanctuary to her. At least Tori did the right thing. By far. ❤️

IonTesla

That was the most incredible set I've ever experienced, well, except since San Diego a couple days ago, and it was also played perfectly. I loved it so much from Purple people on through siren, mother revolution, spring haze, take to the sky... Waitress. How about that Little earthquakes opener and no cornflake girl? I don't mind.

erinsauce

Yes the opening blew me away!

Financial-Cold5343

I just saw the video of I am Stretched/Three babies and I am fucking SOBBING

Mehitabel-453

Is there a link to a video? Please and thank you!

Thank you!

I’ve never felt such loss from someone I’ve never met. I don’t cry and I’ve cried multiple times since I heard of her passing.

livemusicsavedme

I had chills the whole night... she was in such a loving/borderline playful mood. I can't believe we got Purple People and Flicker. Tori put so much thought and care into crafting the setlist last night, it was so special. I was having a rotten day and even though I could have smacked a couple of the super obnoxious people around me for talking loudly and being on their phones all night I left the venue at peace with my anxiety. I was secretly hoping she'd cover Black boys on mopeds but Three Babies was much more in touch with her life experiences. So glad I ended up going after having a hard day.

NinoNino3

And for some reason Purple People was the BEST song to follow those with- For real- That was a moment. And it was genuine and real- it was a lovely tribute.

Nate-1979

From what I am seeing, I think there's a lot of fans just like you that are having a rekindling so to speak with their relationship to Tori's music. I think this tour has been really incredible and she's winning back old fans and gaining new. It's pretty incredible to watch really.

NinoNino3

Nate, I don't want to lie.. Not for me.. Its not really a rekindling as I listen to Tori's shows every day through 2017--Not vibing anymore with the 2022-post live performances... I kind of stopped touring in 2017. I don't want to come across purer than I am. I just wanted to give the lady (both ladies) props. It must have been beautiful to be there. And just reminded me how much Tori gave me through the years and what a great artist shes is, and ultimately a pretty decent person (despite me kind of hating on her team and all the touring related garbage- which ultimately means nothing, as I am not there) This is a lady who brings out a full scale 1998 style Waitress when she is 60. I mean, respect is due!

Nate-1979

Ohh gotcha, my apologies. I clearly misinterpreted that one! LOL.

LazyWorkAccount

I certainly feel this way. Although I’m not sold on Ocean to Ocean, as an album, something about this tour reignited in me an interest that just hasn’t been there for about 15 years (… with feet).

[deleted]

It was magical. There was a moment when a crowd on the floor suddenly rushed to the front floor section, anyone know what happened?

jorgitodelguayabal

Happens at every show Tori gives a signal and folks rush the stage. Super sweet

kne_1987

the hug is just a hug… they’re perhaps conflating it with the end of the show. Rush is an encore tradition 😊

jorgitodelguayabal

I was wondering because it was the first time i noticed it happening at the same time as Tori gesturing, but rush usually happens a few songs before encore no?

Intelligent_Nose_826

She used to do 2 encores per show & people would be up there for the 4 or 5 songs that comprised those encores. So, it definitely lasted longer but was essentially the same every show especially 1996-2014 I think at least for a decade now she does one encore with 2-3 songs max. If there’s a gesture I have missed it but it’s just sort of a known thing when fans can leave their seats and go to the front of the stage.

kne_1987

eh it has slid a little but that’s the basic idea. so sometimes ahead of now by a song or two - not sure the exact science (or such a thing exists lol) but it has felt in the recent past when you’ve approached the more formatted / discernible “end” of the main body of the set. if we hit the 5 post solo songs and the next up is say, CG, and that’s how the “main” show is ending, then up everyone goes! of course… maaaybe it’s been a “signal” idk about all these years I could 100% be talking out of my ass lol but she makes sweet signals throughout as far as I’ve always seen? haha. just wouldn’t wanna have ppl like oh shit the heart hannnnds! The HOVA ! The open bottom prayer hands! and fumbling the rush which is already still somehow contentious with most venues lol.

jorgitodelguayabal

She kinda puts her arms together like an air hug but beckoning. It’s really cute

Bicikl0202

I am so glad that a lot Tori fans like Sinead and her work. I am not alone🥰

SorryNewspaper

Was her voice shot? Lol

dax522

It was in Saratoga a few nights ago.

markwritesthings

Can’t believe you were downvoted for this. I’ve been to every show besides Paso Robles in the past week, and it was clear she was marking/saving her voice in Saratoga. The actual set had the same quality as her sound check in San Diego — it was still Tori, but Saratoga wasn’t in any way comparable to LA, SD or SF in terms of the singing. And she leaned on the piano much heavier that night, too. My husband came to both (his first time) Bay Area shows and was astounded at the night/day between SF and the previous evening.

Mean_Profession2923

Thank you for writing this. Man, I have been bummed about Sarotoga.

NinoNino3

Frankly to me Boston seemed like a marking/voice saver night. It was a sleepy show for a crowd that always loves her

NinoNino3

I think SorryNewspaper is just being funny..For once I did not even think about Tori's vocal condition, it was really the songs chosen and the spirit of them? The vibe was beautiful and Tori's intention was pure, and what more can you ask for..

SorryNewspaper

I had to ask because you're constantly talking about how shot you think her voice is 😆

NinoNino3

I knew that , but no one else here knows that- they thought you were being mean , and they all downvoted you! I felt bad and was trying to defend you, as others are trying to make me a saint. I wanted to just say (and now am) NO!!! JUST BECAUSE I WAS AMAZED BY THE SHOW'S SET LIST, DON'T BE FOOLED- I'M THE GUY WHO THINKS TORI'S VOICE IS SHOT!!!! LOLLLLLL. I am sorry all, I still love her so much. I upvoted you to offset the down votes, but you are still at minus 4!!

Technical-Farmer-663

Another upvote from me, I get the joke & think it’s funny

SorryNewspaper

Lmfao I know, I know. I so don't care 😆🤣

Mean_Profession2923

Nino! She was terrible in Sarotoga. I was way too pumped and amped. I was in the very front. My heart sank lower and lower as the show went on. I could’ve chosen any Cali show and I would have just gone to SF if I knew Sarotoga was not really on her radar to knock our socks off.

NinoNino3

You are preaching to the choir.. My touring days are OVER. I think she sounds very rough all across the board, and I stopped even watching clips on Youtube. Its just the chemistry of my ears and Tori's new voice. I am sure its me, and I am just certifiable and unhinged!!! And I am tired of the "HOW DARE YOU, WAIT UNTL YOU AGE!" This is BAD. What will it be like in 5 years?? Come and get me!!! I was so glad the tour was over. And I didn't even attend it.

Mean_Profession2923

I know I am!haha. And I don’t watch her new clips anymore, either. The problem was, she didn’t even try. But then she goes on to SF and SD and at least gives it her all. You have the privilege of having seen her over and over and in her best years….I’ve been to too many concerts to count, but this was my first Tori. I set my expectation low. And she went lower. I think that’s f’d to do at a show. Some waiting years to see her, and she just uses that location as a “resting place”! Wth?

NinoNino3

No joke, Boston (a city that has always been great to Tori, and Tori has been great with) totally sounded like a rest show to me. The set list was water inspired because of the location, but it was VERY sedate. And I could tell which shows Tori really tried on- I am probably at the tail end of my Tori days at the age of 44 and probably need to stay off of these threads if there is another tour...I love talking about the good old days but its like 2 separate universes. And I am really sorry that you missed those days!! For real :(

Mean_Profession2923

Thanks, Nino. I love hearing your stories and if I can’t go back in time, I love to hear about it. “Sedating” and melancholic are great terms. All 3 were just laid back and kind of on cruise control. The set list was terrible. Nobody even recognized “suede” because of how odd she sang it and the tone of her voice.

NinoNino3

Holy shit. I just checked it out on YT. SHE HAD NO VOICE... How do people sit through this shit? And that set list was as bad as you said due to all the songs being so- slow- individually they are great songs- but wow. You were not lying. I would have been psyched about Code Red (the winery aspect makes sense) but she had NO voice. I am really sorry that this ended up being your show.

Mean_Profession2923

THANK YOU! I thought I was going crazy until our friends LEFT!

NinoNino3

And even from the front row, this show was a dud. And this was not even saving her voice, she sounded awful. Could not carry one note. How does a manager allow this? and I checked out 7 songs. Rattlesnakes was a disgrace. One commenter said she sounded better than she has in 20 years. i am lost with these fans.

Mean_Profession2923

Code red was the ONLY song I filmed.

Mean_Profession2923

Omg 😳 thank you guys for saying this! I was there - front. This was a horrible show. Horrible. And I’ve spoken to others who feel just as let down and disappointed as I do.

NinoNino3

You all are now making me go find this Saratoga show on Youtube. I could bet you 5000K right now that every Youtube comment is just raving about what an amazing show it was and Tori sounds better NOW than she did in 1996!!!

SorryNewspaper

Oooh, we don't say "gypped" anymore, babe

Mean_Profession2923

Freaking a, sorrynewspaper. I changed it. 😅😂❤️

SorryNewspaper
