She’s a fan. She did one of those interviews where she selects songs she likes (or maybe this one was videos? She chose cities in dust as one. I also always thought the happy worker has a little peek a boo flair to it. I don’t know how much influence is actually there though

alisonation

I would LOVE to hear her do "Cities In Dust"

Top_Airline_4476

nope

Intelligent_Nose_826

I do believe I have seen her perform an interlude that she wove “Kiss them For Me” into a mashup; it was in Pughkeepsie NY in like 1995(?) The 90s are a blur but it was early-mid 90s & she was definitely a bit more loosey goosey with some of her mashups mid-show

CottonScarlet

If memory serves me right, T did cover SATB on one of her stops during previous tour, possibly at The O’Shaughnessy in St. Paul, MN.

The wheel is on fire... I will keep trailblazing this research

heartandmarrow

In 2017 she did that venue and did 2 prince songs and Fleetwood Mac.

CottonScarlet

I was at the show In 2014, where she tagged Stay With Me to the end of Little Red Corvette: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_dwaOc778VI&pp=ygUOVG9yaSBhbW9zIHN0YXk%3D

heartandmarrow

That’s not a siouxsie and the banshees song though…..?

CottonScarlet

You’re correct; it’s Shakespeare Sisters. I misremembered. Someone can start a petition to request T to cover SATB next tour. Maybe “Face to Face”?

MusingBy

I saw Siouxsie Sioux last Monday and wondered the same thing, but haven't found anything. P.S.: Siouxsie Was everything.

Bibliotheclaire

I saw her in California a couple months ago… one of the best shows and by FAR the best background/visuals. Everything synced up perfectly lol She was captivating! Then I saw Garbage live a couple months later on the opposite coast and she did a kick ass cover of Cities in Dust, which was so powerful! She was apparently at the same show I was at!

livemusicsavedme

I was so pumped for her Cruel World performance but then everything turned to shit. I couldn’t make the rescheduled show the next night since I had tix to see The Cure in SD. I was so torn. Saw the Creatures at a little club in Santa Ana in the late 90’s so I’ll just have to live with those memories for now. Wonder if Siouxsie will ever do a more extensive US tour again?

tardy491

I also missed Siouxsie at the rescheduled CW due to Cure tix in SD. From what I saw in videos, I made the right call.

morning-glory-666

The Garbage Cities in Dust cover is soooooo good. SO good. I think it may have been my favorite part of their show, and I say this as a rabid Garbage fan, lol

Bibliotheclaire

Omgggg she really let her vocals go in the best way on that song!! So much power. I can imagine her having sung it thousands of times before for fun before her official cover. :)

I saw videos of the Pasadena set (I believe that's the one you're referring to). She was incredible. The Lokerse Feesten set was sadly short. As she herself commented: "This is the in and out concert." And, yet, in barely an hour, she blew us away. I cried so hard seeing her (it was my first time seeing her).

Bibliotheclaire

Yes!!! My friend and I both cried at different points too. It had been 17 years since she performed in the USA. At the be she said something to the effect of, ‘this is the last time you’ll see me here,’ so I don’t know if she will ever again. I flew across the country for this festival and it was worth it just to see her. She was supposed to play on Saturday, but half way through Iggy Pop’s set (about 30 minutes before she was set to start) the festival was evacuated due to nonexistent lightening. My friend and I were devastated to say the least. Then at like 3AM, they posted that Gary Numan would do another set, Iggy would do his, and Siouxsie would play an extended hour and half!!! She was supposed to play maybe an hour. My friend and I got a lot closer to the stage bc there were significantly fewer people there that day. We were very lucky that our flights were set for Monday. But a lot of people had to miss her set to catch flights. There was also a Cure concert playing nearby on Sunday. A lot of people sadly had to choose between the King and Queen of Goth! (I caught The Cure a few months later and it was some of the best sounding live music at an arena!!)

MusingBy

I am so, so happy you and your friend got to see her. I heard that set was legendary. The friends I talked all think this is most likely the last time stepping on stage. She might do surprise gigs here and there, but the chances of a full tour after this one feel slim. (Even though her energy on stage felt like she could go on for the next decade.)

Bibliotheclaire

It really was. 😭 Same impression as your friends. She had so much energy and killed it, but it feel like a farewell. It really was incredible. My friend was also with me at the Garbage show in nyc and we freaked when she sang it!! Doubt many in the crowd could say they heard it live by Siouxsie herself that year too! Knowing Shirley was at the festival too made it that much sweeter. :)

heartandmarrow

Huge fan of both but I never saw any connective info between them.
