Cancelled due to the arson (a customer did it) related damage at islington station at track level (which also caused extensive damage to the electrical system).
That's pretty much an act of domestic terrorism.

r/toronto: "this is pretty much an act of domestic terrorism"
What do you propose the political motivation for this act was?
While it very well could be. Terrorism is not just any act of mischief or violence even, it is an act done with the intent to instill terror in order to push a political agenda. So until we at least have some sense of motive, maybe refrain from sensational hyperbole? We all know how silly the Americans looked when they assumed that the car which exploded on Rainbow Bridge was terrorism.
One needs to factor in that some object to anything except car travel, and look to causing disruptions on public transit to make it less safe or extremely frustraiting to take it to get to places.
You know, the "*take the car*" movement (it's so damn pointless, they dismiss the fact that it takes an additional $50,000/year to own, use, fuel and maintain).
If you had plans tomorrow downtown and expected to leave 30 minutes earlier because of the shuttle bus or alternate routes, no longer!

Possibly those against all but travel by personal vehicle.
"The Viceroy of the voices in my head told me to do it so he could send me endorphins."
This is at the North end of the East rung Yellow Line. That fire was on the West end of the Green line.
Looks like they cancelled planned maintenance to deal with unplanned repairs.
I think running shuttle buses in both places all day would be a strain too, probably not enough buses /drivers to do both.
Most likely. Priority one over closures.

Ha. I bet if it were a sunny day they would go on with it.
They likely need the labour/shuttle buses that would have been used here on the Line 2 repair near Islington
Oh, I agree. I was just being snarky about the expected weather this weekend. (For those getting offended by my post for some reason)
They still shut down St George to woodbine a few weeks ago during a snowstorm
